Another highly recommended place to get your shellfish craving-fix. Awesome crab dishes and Cereal Prawns!

Crustasia Thai Shrimp Restaurant is part of the restaurant group that operates Red Crab and Claw Daddy. The difference is that Crustasia offers Thai dishes on top of their Crab specialties.

This branch even has an aquarium near the cashier counter where they get their shellfish and fish when ordered by the customer ( a fool proof indicator that their seafoods are truly freshly caught).

This visit, we got the Shrimp Pancakes, the Crispy Baby Squid, the Tom Yum Soup, the Typhoon Shelter Crab, the Egg Curry Crab, the Cereal Prawn, and the Phad Thai.

The appetizers were delicious! The Shrimp pancakes are like flat circular croquettas. Yummy with their sweet-chili sauce. The Crispy Baby Squid ( a favorite of mine)- good enough to munch as a snack. Sweet like terriyaki, crunchy. Perfect also as pulutan for the drinking crowd.

The Tom Yum was a bit on the bland side. I felt it lacked the sourness and heat (chili).

The Cereal Prawns- delish! This restaurant is a great place where to get 'em shmuckers. Crunchy, salty-sweet cereal crust, moist sweet prawns inside. The the crust was so good and prawns where so fresh that I ended up even eating a few of the prawn skin.

The Crabs! Oh boy! (As usual, the Crab Claws were the first to disappear !)

The Egg Curry Crab is basically deep fried crab smothered in a Salted Egg sauce. This shmucker is really good 128163128163128163. The crab itself was sweet, fresh, moist . The sauce-creamy, salty, with bits of salted egg. The sauce itself was good enough alone with rice! 128077128077128077128077

The Typhoon Shelter Crab is a garlic -lover's dish. Crab smothered in minced fried garlic served in a bed of Thai flat noodles. The crab was sweet , fresh and moist. The tons of garlic -128163128163128163 the noodles and garlic were good enough to stand alone as a solo dish all by itself.

The Phad Thai was a disappointment. It was bland-lacking the sweet-sour-salty flavor expected from this dish.

I would let the flaw on Phad Thai and the Tom Yum Soup slide because I still love the crab and prawn dishes from this place. And yes, I'll definitely be back should my shellfish craving starts calling.
