It's actually a rating of 4.5 because this is probably the most expensive local breakfast buffet we've had... but the bargain for quality's worth it! Sure, Cucina doesn't have the widest range of items per cuisine, including those of Filipino breakfast. However, Cucina does score huge points for key, memorable dishes. Amongst these are breakfast staples such as tea, bacon, bread, and congee.

Not much of a bread person here, but I just love, love, love the bread pudding! With the countless plates I've had on this one, it's definitely a must-try and a joy to be paired with their English breakfast tea. The bacon platter was wittingly 'hidden' from view, near the far end of the counter. If I recall correctly, Cucina presented a couple of options, so you can actually pick a 'healthier' version over the usual. Congee was good, too, though my 'buds liked better the taste and texture of their champorado.

Ambiance and service at the time were excellent and very good, respectively. 'Had nice seats and enjoyed breakfast in view of the Ortigas CBD. It took a while to get the bill... that and the pretty hefty price tag for a morning meal were the only downsides to an otherwise great start for the day. #Halloolooween2016

Buffet restos confuse me. There are just too many choices that some are a miss. This resto did veer away from that as it only had few select choices. They focus more on the quality rather than quantity. And it shows on the taste of theie dishes. The Roast Prime Rib was just tender and delicious. Their Paella was a-okay too. I had a taste of their other dishes which I wasn't able to take a photo of. 128539

It could be a bit on the pricey side but you do pay for quality food. Plus, they change their offers on a daily basis based on what's fresh. Yes, quality dining here! 128076

Group lunch today @ Cucina Marco in Marco Polo Ortigas courtesy of our Boss. Done previous reviews before but wanted to highlight the rants and raves.

Raving over:
-maintained ambiance and ventilation
-spare ribs and chicken feet are available, coz last visit this were unavalable
-i love the spicy tuna maki (something new)
-sashimi overload, the server gave me a lot of it in 1 serving
-attentive waiters. Plates were gather as soon as you finished a meal
-baked oysters 10084
-ice cream and desserts are all good!

Ranting 128078🏼
-shrimps were asked to be cooked. Yet it tasted like it is still raw. We even asked it to be cooked again.. But still... Conclusion: not fresh!
-crepe was not properly cooked. The last time was a perfect one.
-no strawberry127827127827127827 ice cream ☹️
-no blue cheese! This has been not available for the longest time.

Not a good experience as the food we ordered took longer than the last day of school. Seriously, one hour for fish and chips?! If you must order ala carte, make baon pacencia cookies. Lots of them! Then again, this is really a buffet restaurant so pasensya talaga

Marco Polo Ortigas never disappoint. Breakfast buffet is always a treat and " burp-full". Egg tart and blueberry tart are really good. I had 4 slices today. :-) We also love their tocino and beef steak. I'm also glad they have variety of juices- apple, orange, watermelon and grapes. Egg station is a feast. Aside from Filipino cuisine they also have Indian, Japanese, Italian and American dishes to choose from. Burp! Burp! Until next time.

Late post 128517

This was where we had our family reunion last December. 128522 Their food is really good, I must say! I tried a little of everything, especially those recommended by the chefs. The live paella station was very impressive! And not to mention delicious!

What I loved the most was their pasta! I had the tagliatelle with white sauce. It had a deep cheesy and creamy flavor and was such a delight!

I had to leave room in my tummy for their desserts too. The live crepe station was nice, not just because of the food but also because of their people. The chef who made my pancake was very interactive and funny! It was such an experience. 128517

All in all, Marco Polo Manila's all day dining restaurant is definitely one of the best buffets I have tried. I sure do hope I can come back! Sarap e! 128525128525128525

We stayed at Marco Polo for 3 days and 2 nights over the holidays... As usual, it was a relaxing and mostly pleasant stay, despite the sheer number of people in the hotel during the time... 128155 kaka-stress mag-intay ng elevator!128517

We had breakfast at Cucina for 2 mornings. It was jampacked both days with quite a line... When we finally found a seat, we were overwhelmed by the choices... They have a lot of pastries available, with donuts, croissants and various types of danish & muffins... There were several chefs manning the egg station, so they were able to keep up with the high demand... There were several Intercontinental viands available, but you have to approach the chefs if you want bacon... Keep in mind that the bacon is hidden at the back away from view!!!128070128077128525

They cater to different tastes in breakfast, including sushi rolls for the Japanese, tapa/tocino for the Filipino palette, congee for the Chinese sensibilities, curry for Hindi guests and healthy choices for the health conscious...

The staff were on top of things! They remained cool and collected despite the demanding and hungry crowd... (You need to take note of this F1 hotel, please) Not as extensive as Spiral or Circles, but you will definitely leave with a full stomach!128525

We were quite hesitant at first to try Cucina due to our bad experience in Marco Polo Davao

Good thing we still tried. The selections were good. Today they had seafood special. So they served oysters, alaskan crabs and mussels. You can have them grilled, baked or cooked in lemon garlic

The lechon kawali was also very crispy. The paella was good as well as the filipino offerings like the sinigang

Overall, food was great. Just not sure if it is worth the php2500 per head.

Cucina is one of those buffets that doesn't have a huge selection, but the ones they do have are pretty awesome. During our most recent stay, we would eat Breakfast there mostly, and it really filled me up! Of note are the tocino, and the bacon, and the meatballs with black pepper sauce. Also readily available was Emmenthal Cheese, which is my favorite!

In previous visits for lunch, I gorged myself on their prime rib and their seafood selections, which included LOBSTER. You can even have it cooked in lemon butter garlic sauce 128523

I guess the only area they have to improve on is dessert, which is, I guess, not really their forte. Everything else though is great!

PS: pictured here is Justin, who has been taking care of us since we first entered Marco Polo in December/January. Super nice guy and even gave us a congratulations letter on our wedding day!

Before dinner, went down to check their buffet selection and at first I thought, is't worth it? The buffet area is small and may look limited but we opt to give it a try. 128516

It did not disappoint! As a matter of fact, it was a good choice. Seafood is just overflowing. The lobster is just amazing. And we did not even have to fall in line, we just asked the very attentive server to get us and he'd ask "how many? 128515" that quick and easy. 128523 the prime rib is also mention worthy. Tender and cooked perfectly well. Paired well with the creamy mashed potato.

Just fell short thus -1 star with the cheeses. I only have 5 to choose from! What happened to Emmental? Feta? Tallegio? And Monterey jack? Absent?! They added some dried fruits to make up for it but this is just plain sad. 128543

The cakes here btw were AWESOME! Dark chocolate mousse, blueberry cheesecake and carrot cake are all so gooood. Not to mention, the caramelized butter pudding and the apple crumble are also TDF.

Value for money? Yes! Even if it is priced 2k per pax I think we are paying quality here than quantity. Everything is well prepared and the good service is just a huge plus. 128523128523128523

As the weirdo that ordered ala carte at a buffet restaurant, I expected to be despised by the waitstaff. But quite the contrary, they were gracious, welcoming, attentive and considerate!! I was wowed.

First my order took much longer to prepare. Waiter#1 came over and asked if i wanted him to get me bread just in case I was already hungry. I said no thank you. (Diet daw) A few minutes later a totally different waiter came over with a small bowl of soup for me just because it would take a while. Wow. Okay! to heck with calories!!! ...as I sipped my soup.

My entire family had buffet so i was already nibbling on some cheese which isn't allowed but it was only three bites so I guess they let it slide. My order came, first the crab cakes (P600) were huge! Honestly it's not very good but i was having a great time so it's okay, I will accept their subpar crab cake. My main course came, the US rib Eye. It was a little over done but they gave me a good sized portion and after half I was already full. Taste was okay, i dont think its the expensive kind of meat.

so their food is just okay but their service is terrific. I think most of my 4-star rating is due to that. My glass is never empty and everything I requested was given without hesitation. Yes. dining should always be this easy.

Pro Tip: don't be shy to be an "extreme couponer" - we have a membership card which brought our meal for two to 50% off. My parents separately claimed a free buffet voucher for two. Our meal for 4 came to P2,609 + tip. (3 buffet + 1 alacarte) They even let us claim a voucher for a free wine bottle so we got to bring booze back to our room (also discounted thanks to the membership). So what I'm really saying is, get the membership. If you like hotels and discounts, worth it.

Shoutout to: Gunner the waiter! thank you for making our first dinner at cucina fabulous!

The ambience was perfect, the view from the 24th floor window is enticing. Another sumptuous meal lined-up for me to devour. Well, actually the taste is not so fancy, the only thing that would make me come back to this buffet is their rib eye, splendid taste and the tenderness. at approx 2.2k per person, I would still prefer heat than cucina.
