Simply the best red velvet cupcake around. :) I am hooked, so hooked that I get myself a cupcake every two weeks. Haha. I'm getting fat because of this already.

This is the most spacious and cozy branch they have yet. Perfect to enjoy quiet time while enjoying my Death by Chocolate.

Instant mood changer. Yay! I love Sonja's Red Velvet and Strawberry Cheesecake!!128155 Shangrila's branch is cute and their staff are nice even if they're already closed they still accomodate our order. Haha! I hope they will open a branch near my work in Mall of Asia so that I can satisfy my cravings anytime. For me, Sonja's cupcakes still one of the best.

P. S. Thanks to my friend for paying hahaha! 128536

The one thing that keeps me coming back to this shop is their red velvet cupcake; one of the best I've tasted. As for the drinks, my boyfriend love their bacon milkshake. At first I didn't want to try because its main ingredient is milk but after tasting it, boy, I was impressed.

I've always loved their interiors and their wide yet unique variety cupcake flavors most especially the one with Reese's.

XIAN LIM!!!!!! hahaha he was here the same time we were but omg too starstruck to even ask for a picture. Lol!

Anyway, I got a Cookie Monster cupcake. The icing was weird, it tasted a little different from before... I just couldn't quite put my finger on what made it taste different. 128513

I usually share two of my favorite flavors with my sister. That's peppermint patty and red velvet sliced in half, lengthwise and crosswise, placing the icing in the middle so it won't be too overpowering nor too sweet 128077 and we call it "the best of both worlds!" 127908128129 Haha.

My favorite cupcake place for years!

I think that this place is overrated. Their cupcakes are expensive. I could find other cheaper but still uber good cupcakes. Their cupcakes are dry, which is unacceptable because of its price. Moreover, their drinks are expensive too. Their lemonade (that is too sweet) regular size for 110 (or 120 I forgot) bucks? You kidding me?? Nonetheless, the place is cute but I don't think that's enough.

The Best cupcakes in Manila! (in my opinion) and anyone who knows me knows, I love me my cupcakes. Although I have tried all the OLD flavors, and I'm not kidding about that- My staple is still Chocolate Surprise or (the used to be Valrhona?) Heavenly Hazelnut. Chocolate Overload, and Smores at times, too. This brand has evolved so much from the first time they opened, and thats a good thing because now they have more branches! But on the downside, they changed their flavors and got rid of some old ones.

Red velvet vixen (thank you looloo I was not disappointed with my order)
Death by chocolate
Mocha motion
Cookie monster
Peppermint patty

Feel free to correct me if I got the name wrong 128516

While most went with the "salted caramel" route, @cupcakesbysonja was bold and inventive enough to introduce us to a delicious "sweet and spicy" concoction - The Pepper cupcake.

At first bite, you'll be introduced to its rich, chocolatey flavor. Then, as you savor it, the peppery flavor suddenly kicks in as if taking you by surprise.

Pair it with an Americano, Espresso or Cappuccino and after that, we can just call it a day. Dessert indulgence at its finest!

I have changed my mind about Sonja's. I used to think their cupcakes were overrated but recent visits made me think otherwise.

During my most recent visit, I tried their Dessert Comes First cupcake. It's a butter cupcake (or vanilla, not really sure) with Speculoos cookie butter filling. The cupcake was firm enough for you to stab it with a fork without it crumbling into pieces. It had a slightly different texture from their regular vanilla cupcakes.

I paired it with an americano. Only P160 in all. They have a promotion where you can get a drink at a discounted price for certain cupcakes. It was sulit (the cupcake I got would have set me back P135 if I bought it by itself).

Service was great. The server was very helpful when I was deciding on which cupcake to get. They only had a few selections left since it was almost 8 and I wanted to try something new. She was also very polite and did not forget to say "You're welcome" after I thanked you. (I'm particular about that.)
