Pioneer Market is a complete food hub offering a list of cuisines which has unusual concepts, favorite classic and assortment of desserts. The sweet variety includes pastries, cakes, shakes, floats, crafted apples and a variety of artisanal ice cream.
Met the cheerful and very accommodating owner, Yvone who personally assisted and gave a background of her business. Her other partner makes them and she is hands on the business side. Their ice cream has new exciting twist, creamy and not so sweet like others.
I tried four types: Crinkles and Cream (moderately sweet yet lavishly creamy Vanilla ice cream with chunks of rich chocolatey crinkle cookies); Double Dutch Duo (a play of vanilla and chocolate ice cream fused with nuts, chocolate bits, chewy fudge brownie smidgens); Salted Caramel (super delectable creamy ice cream lovingly concocted with caramel swirls, sea salt and ground salted peanuts) and my favorite Japanese Green Tea (full flavored green tea with a dash of chocolate syrup, perfectly combined to create a perfectly balanced, creamy bitter-sweet zing!)

There's a new kid on the block - Dairy Frost is the latest brand in the competitive world of artisan ice cream.
I stumbled upon em while doing recon at Pioneer Street Market. I met the lovely owner Yvonne and had a brief chat with her. Dairy Frost is handcrafted and made with quality ingredients. They currently offer three flavors - Japanese Green Tea, Salted Caramel and Turtle Macchiato.
Top on my list is Japanese Green Tea - understatement of the year, i know. Green Tea flavor is on point, not too strong and not too subtle. Perfect PH level, so to speak. I got a pint (php 190), but it is of different flavor, he prefers Salted Caramel. This one is just okay, not sure if the base they use is vanilla and the caramel element is the syrup.
What i like about Dairy Frost is that they dont go overboard with sugar, walang umay factor .
If you dig handcrafted ice cream, Dairy Frost is worth a try.
I am coming back for the Japanese Green Tea, put that on the record.
