A photo of a man-made island which I took at Dakak Park and Beach Resort in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte wayback year 2012.

To reach the 360 degree view of the whole resort that is facing the Sulu Sea, you have to patiently climb a mountain with 300-step-stairs.

If this is the kind of majestic view I will witness, I would not really mind climbing a mountain throughout the remaining days of my life. ^_^

02.26.2016. This place is humongous! Truly a resort beach adventure park rolled into one. Impatient people will be discouraged to go here because from dapitan it's a 2-3hour drive while from dipolog (where the airport is) it's around 4-5hour drive at the most. We're fortunate enough because the place was not crowded at the time. You can go for all sorts of things in there. Swimming (the water is freezing cold, the coldest I've experienced in my entire life I'm not exaggerating) shopping food tripping ball sports (basketball volleyball tennis even a golf course! That's how huge it is) water sports karaoke zipline (a must try, very nice view) and even spa and church! It's just that because the whole place is monopolized, every activity you'll be interested in will be for a whopping 500+php. I think it's kind of absurd when you've been to more popular spots like Boracay or Palawan and you can do the same stuff for cheaper prices. Anyways, just check out for yourself 128521128077128513

P.S. It's true that most of the amenities are far from each other and not something you can easily walk into but don't worry they have free shuttles everywhere 128077128077128077

Going to Dakak was a long way travel with the highlight of winding roads. But, the long travel still paid off.

You woudn't expect that a resort like it is located in that area. Its like seeing a light after you went into a tunnel since you'll be passing between some forest. That is what made it exciting - a mini resort at the end of a mini forest. A mixture of man made and natural environment. A secluded place to get away from the rush of the city life.

Moreover, the services are not that fast and the food isn't that great. An added thing is the cottages are too far from the beach area in which coming back and forth won't be ideal. Bring your stuff if you are planning to go swimming.

But again, the place is good.

It is best place to visit in Dapitan and Dipolog. Although overall it falls behind other resorts in the Philippines.

Take the Dakak Adventure Zone Zipline. I don't believe it is the longest and fastest. But man, the steep over coconut trees overlooking the Dakak and Dapitan bays is awesome. Better than Cebu and Davao ziplines.

Dine in at Il Patio. The Pizza Romano is the best pizza I've ever tasted. Seriously. Garlic cheese and chicken breast chunks on gourmet hand-tossed pizza. Their Pomodoro angel hair pizza is only PhP 120. Good for 2-3 persons.

Dakak Resort is huge. Half of the area are huge villas. The pools are so-so. Sands are white but with gray spots. You can have activities such as wakeboarding and jetskiing for a fee. There are two beach volleyball courts.

Inside the villa are sawali-walled rooms. Even the refrigerator is covered with sawali. We got a huge space for deluxe for 2.

They have free airport transfers.

Unlimited videoke song at Bowling Center. Bowling is manual similar to UP Alumni Center.

What we don't like in Dakak Resort:
- brochures are printed in cheap paper
- low electric current; you will experience power interruptions too
- we didn't like Bamboo Cafe food
- Dakak Resort itself is far from Rizal Shrine and other tourist spots that you need to pay for a van PhP 1700 at minimum in 4 hours. 30 minute drive from Dapitan City

How do i describe DAKAK? The "whole"place was refreshing, full of amenities, some outdoor activities, restaurants inside the park itself,(if your package doesnt include the inhouse buffet)white beach and a free shuttle and unlimited rides in their small owned theme park, above all i think being it isolated from the busy streets of metropolis is the greatest factor why people stayed and enjoyed the whole park,a piece of advice dont expect the theme park would be comparable to those what we have here in Manila(luzon),because theyre not, nevertheless youll still enjoy it.
