Taking advantage of their promo-- buy two, take one... I like their ham and cheese Danish bar but gave the crunch sugar to my happy bf!128077128522

Japan's Little Mermaid Bakery Danish balls and bars are now here in Manila! Best eaten when it's hot. The Chocolate Danish bars are like chocolate Xuxos. Liked this flavor best 128077128523 Buy 2 Get 1 Free until February 14, 2015

Hey guys!128522

Some of you might be familiar with this franchise from Japan... It's one of the latest among the endless imports to the country... I actually just chanced upon it during the SM 3-day sale over the weekend...

I fell in line while my bf beelined for THW (yes that's right!!!)... They have a buy 2, take 1 promo for the Danish bars... It's a cute stick shape that fits perfectly in your hand, giving you a new option for food on the go... I basically got the three available flavors-- green tea, ham and cheese, and crunch sugar... Though I believe the original franchise has more flavors to choose from.

As I stood by the bright red booth with a huge exclamation point (!), I waited for the crew as they heated up the bar prior to serving...

The Danish bar reminded me of the Kouign Amman, layers upon layers of thin pastry with lots of butter in between... It had the crunch on the outside from the caramelized sugar and the silken texture of butter on the inside... The crunch sugar was the most similar to the Kouign Amman in flavor, color, and texture... The green tea variant takes on this weird wilting moss color after toasting... But it was enjoyable to bite into, with a subtle green tea flavor... I liked the savory ham and cheese flavor the best... Lots of cheese and ham in between the layers of pastry... But at P75 per piece, I would think twice about trying it again... 128540

I would choose St. Marc's Chococro anyday over the Danish bar any day...128522
