DEC - Chicken Pie. Had so much expectations w this but sadly, this was just an okay pie. Pricey for the size. I still prefer Banapple’s chicken pie or Conti’s.

A sure stop when I'm with my mom in Binondo. DEC is a chinese grocerry go to place for those chinese goodies. I love their dimsum and that empanada. We also usually get our Beef floss here and machang here. Such a haven for chinese foods. But my fave about this place is their bottled juice drink. From taro, black gulaman, avocado each of this is a real thirst quencher. On this visit I got the avocado. So yummy delicious!!!

At 45 pesos per piece, this Chicken Pie was really good and filling. They did not skimp on the filling, with cheese, chicken, egg, and etc.
We also tried the special radish cake, an okay for me because the ones made by my Ako (Auntie) is by far the best. they have two radish cake versions and this one with a texture similar to tikoys you have to slice carefully. the other version is the typical starchy one.
also try the small tikoy snacks. i love the tikoy balls with peanut inside. those with sesame seeds are also good!
The Auntie was extra friendly and answered all my questions. 🏻
DEC is definitely one of the must visits in Chinatown for pasalubongs and authentic delicacies.

Though not photogenic, I really recommend their chicken pie! ️ I normally pair this with green or black tea

I'm not the type to buy these types of goodies from DEC.. But I usually gets it from my visiting cousins
Mushroom ala king ... Generous mushroom filling with vegetable chunks .. Light cream pocket in flaky & savory pastry
Chicken ala king ... Chicken creamy filling with chunks of carrots & other veggies ... slightly sweeter than the mushroom version .. & pocket in a similar savory pastry
Black mongo with egg yolk... Little grainy & somewhat smooth , lightly sweetened black monggo paste but no sign of the egg yolk anywhere... I never like monggo... So this isn't my type of snack.
Lotus with egg yolk is just another version of the black monggo but has bits of dried fruit chunks in the lightly sweetened paste filling in flaky crusty outer breading a little similar to that of the hopia but more dense & thicker

Fifth and mandatory pasalubong stop!
Sa dami ng kinain namin, mag-uuwi pa din kami para kumain! overwhelming choices inside, with tons of baked goodies!
I got the bottled almond lychee drink, which was the perfect pick me up! Trust me, you will get hot and sticky walking around this place!
I know they are known for their lumpia and their siomai, but try the chicken pie! Masarap yung crust!️ Good filling too! At P40/pc, perfect pasalubong!
the almond lychee jelly is so good too!

Gotta try their fresh lumpia! Freshly made daily! Bigger chance of getting it from their Wilson St, San Juan branch!

I suddenly craved for chinese Deli yesterday that i searched in the net if Dec's has a branch near my place...Lucky me! Yes, there is one in Binondo..nearer than their branch in Wilson.
What was i craving for?? Their Lumpiang sariwa!!! Ooh lala!!! It's sooooo yummy!!! (Well, i love eating veggies eh!) i really really liked it!
They have 2pcs available, packed in a microwavable container at 125pesos.
Then, here comes their Machang...65pesos! (Sorry, not in the picture!)
Oh, thanks Heaven..It's sooo appetizingly delish!!I love how it tastes crazily good (for me & hubby!)....Sticky brown rice with pork and chicken goodness wrapped in dry leaves. All in one meal na sya!
Sometimes i wonder if i have a chinese blood in my family!?! Lol!

Best almond jelly in town.
And this is the leche flan I've grown up eating.
The almond jelly smells a little floral, tastes delicately sweet, looks jiggly and slippery but not mushy. It is a perfect accompany to lychees and fresh fruits. It is an ideal type of light desert.
The leche flan is great, just great! That's not sarcastic in any way! It is incredibly smooth, dense and creamy. It also doesn't have those weird bubbles or "craters".
When I tasted other leche flans, it all just came of pretty decent and mediocre when compared to this.
Nom nom nom.
P.S. First one to review this! I feel extra Chinese! Lol! 🇨🇳
