One of my homies treat me to an early dinner last night. He let me decide where to eat and I can only think of Detoxify Bar. I've been trying to shed some pounds and it's the right place to eat light.

We started with focaccia bread with olive oil dip. The bread had a lovely crusty texture. We both liked the herbs they mixed in olive oil as it gives a sour and a bit of a sweet taste. This was a good kickstart to our meal.

I had a fish fillet for entree. The herbs worked well with the slab of salmon and it was cooked to my liking.

Going to Detoxify Bar is incomplete without trying one of their pressed juices. I followed the girl's recommendation and bought a bottle of minty berry. It's a combination of apple, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, mint leaf and lemon. I can taste all the refreshing flavors described.

Price point, I find the place a tad hefty. I wanted to give four stars if not for the following reasons:

1. The salmon fillet made my palate itchy. At first, I thought it was just me since I'm allergic to perfume and I figured salmon was an addition. Sadly, my friend tried the fish and experienced the same reaction.

2. The minty berry somehow irritated my throat and as of this writing it's now sore . I guess this is not their fault.

3. The servers need to look more cheerful and welcoming. I'm prolly used to the waiters greeting their guest upon entering the establishment.

I would love to come back and try other dishes but I'm letting go of the salmon and I'll make sure to have a glass of water next to me if ever I decide to buy a bottle of minty berry again.
