Lunch date with my constant lunch buddies, Yna N and Lorie Mae B So its our first lunch out of the year and thought of having sumptious Lunch in Din Tai Fun. We ordered our favorites:

Chicken wings in shrimp paste (P185)

Shrimp & Pork Wanton with House Special Spicy Sauce (P175 for 6 pcs)

Salted eggyolk prawns (P375)

Fried rice with sweet garlic and scallions (P100)

Food: Tasty and yummy! The salted eggyolk prawns is my favorite. The fried rice we had is good for 3 pax, which is sulit for me.

Service: attentive servers.

Price: reasonable. Satisfying meal 128077🏽

Don't you just love Din Tai Fung?🙃

I remember being disappointed during my last visit at this branch. It was during the time when the local staff was left to their own devices. They were initially trained by staff who flew all the way from Taiwan, where DTF is originally from. During said visit, the service was just okay and the xiao long bao was noticeably dry. But, it seems like it is just growing pains on their part.

Months have passed and my fiancé and I were again craving for DTF's XLB. We sat down ready to order our go-to dishes when the salted egg squid caught my eye, part of their new menu. We (actually, just me) decided to skip the truffle XLB and try out their squid. Of course, the 10-piece pork XLB and the salted fish fried rice (which my fiance absolutely loves) had to be ordered.

The pork xiao long bao was gone faster than you can say pork xiao long bao. O, diba ang gulo? We were both so happy that it's the hot, soupy, and oh-so-satisfying XLB that we know so well. The salted fish fried rice was spot on... But pick another spot if you have kidney issues or high blood-- this is a very salty dish! Think dilis galore. Lastly, the salted egg squid was definitely worth the calories. That salted egg coating was really good and nicely complemented the mild taste of the squid... Great meal all in all...

How was the service? Everyone was on their toes, very attentive and dishes were served hot & fast... We both really appreciated it!128077

Finally got to try this resto and of course it won't be complete without ordering their famous Xia Long Bao (Shrimp 285PHp). Then we also ordered Spicy Shrimp wonton (175PHp) and Crispy Beef (235PHp). All of the dishes we ordered were delicious.

We will surely go back to try out their other dishes.

Late lunch on a weekday with the sister and a friend. Our friend had lunch already so we convinced him to come with us since we had our hearts set on the Chocolate Lava Xiao Long Bao.

On the table
🔹Pork Xiao Long Bao - delicious
🔹Crab Roe and Pork Xiao Long Bao - yummy but I prefer the pork version
🔹Chicken Cutlet Fried Rice - flavorful and good for sharing
🔹Steamed Red Bean Xiao Long Bao - that tiny bite wasn't so bad but red bean really isn't for me
🔹Golden Lava Salted Egg Yolk Bun - a delightful surprise. Interesting but I'm still partial to chocolate.

Service was great and we loved that hamper that stored our bags.

Our Chocolate Lava Xiao Long Bao mission was a bust. It wasn't available and we should have asked them beforehand. Food was ok and I'm sure we'll be back for that Chocolate Lava Xiao Long Bao.

Celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary lunch at the #1 Taiwanese restaurant in Manila , Din Tai Fung at ground floor Mega Fashion Hall

It's totally true! They are the worlds famous soup dumpling , Xiao Lang Bao!

We've been seeing long queue every time we were attempting to dine and lucky last October 26, we were finally able to try it for our anniversary lunch.

The place was so big and spacious. We got string beans for appetizer, salt and pepper squid, salted egg yolk prawns which I super enjoyed , pork Xiao Lang Bao , fried rice, for dessert , we had chocolate lava Xiao Lang Bao, and golden lava salted egg yolk bun which is a must try for dessert, so good! I love Xiao Lang Bao!

Fast service , excellent service and systematic even up to paying after we eat. Staffs are always checking our table of orders were complete.

Definitely will come back! Cheers to our 17th weeding lunch celebration!

Journey to megamall on a weekend is not always a pleasant one. Either you went there early or use a ride sharing app but in case you went with the former i suggest parking at building A as the chance of landing a parking spot is higher.

With all the traffic, i arrive very hungry and immediately went here for their famous xiao long bao, my order didnt take too long as its on my desk within minutes. With 10 pieces for 300+, i find it abit expensive but maybe im used to the price of xiao long bao at those hole in the wall at shanghai but i can say that xiao long bao here was the best so far here at manila.

With its Soggy and transluscent skin plus with pork juices inside and mouth watering meat, add some soy and black vinegar.  It was really good.  Only 1 pc breaks when pick up with chopstick, not a good feeling to see those juice flowing out. Haha. If your going here and just wants to try out their xiao long bao i suggest to come here at around 2pm to 530pm as this was the time where theres not much people lining up and youll get a seat immediately, i remember i was on the waiting list on my last visit here. Other items on their menu were also good.

But overall its a good one. :)

What a best way to end this week is a moment you will be spending it with your friends in high school. Since it was originally planned two months ago, i provoked them to make it yesterday. We were actually working in Ortigas that's why we met halfway. I decided Din Tai Fung anyway voted for what to experience that night for i will be the one to pay for it. I couldn't rely on the menu so the best thing to end up thinking what to order, we availed the set menu worth php 1798 plus. the package includes Xiao Long Bao, Egg Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour Pork, Dan Dan Noodles with spicy sesame and peanut sauce, porkchop cutlet, spinach. That was so worth it with the main dish XLB, recommended to eat it while hot so to complement the burst on your mouth. The sweet and sour pork is just typical, spinach is well soaked and however fresh, fried rice was made perfectly, Porkchop kinda disappoints me, Dan Dan Noodles quite tickles your tongue it is indeed spicy and flavorful. No longer a pioneer branch, as the Moment Group will bring DTF in Bonifacio Hight Street soon. Deserved to have a Michelin star rating and by the way, the encounter ended up with Golden Lava Bun which reminds me of mantao filled with egg custard ooze on your mouth. Yum yum yum.

Finally, I was able to check out this restaurant that offers the best xiao long bao in the world, Din Tai Fung.

It was during dinner yesterday when my workmates and I decided to try the resto, good thing there was no line so we got in as soon as we could.

We were given their menus and the sheet menu where we can tick off the boxes to identify our orders. We got their must try Pork Xiao Long Bao, Sweet & Sour Pork, DanDan Noodles with Spicy Peanut Sauce, Chicken Wings with Shrimp Paste and the Fried Rice.

I liked the crispness and crunchiness of the pork. The balance between the sweetness and sourness was really delicious, making it so good with the fried rice that in itself was satisfying and filling already.

The chicken was quite disappointing given its size and taste. It tasted like the usual wings that you can buy anywhere.

The noodles were cooked really well. I liked its texture and fresh taste. The mixture of the peanut sauce with its spicyness was refreshing and interesting at the same time.

Finally, their Pork Xiao Long Bao in my tummy! It was soft but a bit bland for me? The reason why the brown soy sauce and vinegar will be mixed altogether as the dumpling's sauce. I liked it better when dipped in the sauce.

Overall, the experience was OK. I am not really sold with the hype but I may come back again some other time to try other items.

We were still full from lunch but we wanted to try the famous xiao long bao. We had their pork xiao long bao and watercress with garlic and both dishes were yummy. We'll be back for lunch time so we can pig out on all the other dishes.

I keep coming back for the fried ahrimp&pork wanton and stir fried noodles with vegetables! Great for snacking.

Xiao long bao was 50% off today! That was a great deal.

Their spricy shrimp wantons were also better. The chili sauce was more flavourful and spicy.

Service is usually good. Expecially good today in fact. Everybody was cheerful and efficient handling the dinner crowd.

So apart from usual, XLB of course, we tried something new. The chicken cutlet. It was good, but not as good as the pork cutlet. Everything else is delicious, as usual. :)
