Decided to watch a movie here with my friend. The comfy couches makes everything perfect! 10084

You have guessed by now... We watched Pitch Perfect 2. We're staying in Sofitel, and we decided to watch the movie because it's near.

We sat in the left, and I had high expectations that the comfort would be like from Megamall (first time watching DC in MOA). But it's not, the experience is so crappy.

My mom and my friend watched the movie (I'm just fourteen, no MAD MAX for me lol). Anyway, my friend is really excited for the movie even if he's a boy, he just wanted to see Pentatonix and done lol.

Anyway, back to the review. I then pressed the chair, thinking it's the press button type chair like Megamall. It's not.

You'll pull it, WHICH SUCK, considering we walked from here from the bay to pass time. -_- yeah guys, you suck 127797.

The movie was so good, but the food was not. My friend got pissed off, he wanted cookies which sadly... There wasn't. He does not really have the nerve to eat some sandwiches or burgers, and wanted cake or the cookies. I just ordered their hotdog, with no MAYONNAISE but they gave me one of those with MAYONNAISE. You heard me?!

Also, I ordered Coke but they served me Sarsi (I know cuz sarsi has a toothpaste taste).

(I'm not that fluent in tagalog)

The chair has some tears already in it, and there's POPCORN BITS on the chair oh my god SM!

You're a multi-billion dollar company and you hire people with this lazy attitude? Oh my god!!!

127797127797127797.

My mom, however, insisted she wanted the hotdog sandwich she ordered, but they gave her a hotdog stick. Really??!

We got the food nearing the hour of the movie, you suck SM. I'll never go to MOA'S DC. To top it all, my iPhone 6 was nearly robbed. Such bad service, SM.

PS, my friend hated his torn up seat. Just buy SM new seats pls, considering it's a bit expensive for us and I have two other siblings who sat in the very back.

Was not happy. Service is so poor. It took an hour for the staff to get to our needs. Unli popcorn not yummy. Not so clear screen. Basically, just paid extra bucks for the chair. That's all.

Have you ever tried watching a movie here? If not yet, go and try! For as low as around 250 each, you'll already be able to watch a movie comfortably seating in your own lazy boy seat with a free popcorn! Bring your date! :) and don't forget the reservation. ;)

Chillin' like bosses - that's what we did with our lazyboy seats and 'butlers' serving popcorn! 128526

It was my first time to watch a movie (Catching Fire) at the Director's Club. I used to think it was all overpriced. But then I realized it's the convenience and comfort you're actually paying and enjoying. Lucky Chinatown Mall's 3D movies also cost P350, so more or less just the same.

With 30 available seats, you get to enjoy wide spaces, no queue for the comfort rooms, popcorn and most especially, the lazyboy seats. Haha! 128077

The movie was great and well, Peeta. 128525 Nuff said, haha! The action and cinematography were well executed too. Overall, not bad for my first Director's Club movie. #noob ha ha. 128514128518

Ultra Cinema and the Director's Club have pretty much the same features. Limited seats, waitstaff, free popcorn.

Now the difference?

LA-Z-BOY:

Ultra Cinema - the one I sat on was broken so I havent had the chance to maximize my chair. It also wasn't soft leather, the texture of the fabric wasn't very soft and fluffy as well.

Director's Club - completely nice seats. Soft leather and the adjustable chair was working properly

SIZE and LAYOUT OF CINEMA:

UC - limited seats of 80, layout was properly made in a way that everyone will have no problem in terms of screenview. Also, it's built in pairs with booth so couples will have some privacy. There's a movable thingy for your food and drinks.

DC - smaller in size compared to UC, only 30 seats. If you slant your chair too far, a portion of your view will be slightly covered by the one in front. Seats are also made in pairs but there's no privacy (not that I want any 128540). There's plenty of leg room and space between each pair of seats. There's a table in between for your food and drinks too.

FREEBIES:
UC - Popcorn
DC - Popcorn

SERVICE:
UC - butlers that come to you when you press your private button for service (hmmmsss...)

DC - waitstaff that go around even if you're already watching which more or less covers your view every now and then.

PRICE:
UC - 500+
DC - 300+

Both delivered good results for me. I particularly liked the comfort of the Director's Club's seats but I also liked Ultra Cinema's booth-style seats because it gave me that feeling of exclusivity...that we have the cinema all to ourselves. But price-wise, I'd go for DC. 128077

For cinemas in general, I'd still be loyal to Resortsworld's cinemas, but if I'll be going to The Director's Club, I won't say no. It's cheaper, and much more comfortable. 128522

So after the Sam Perkins press conference for the NBA Global Games Philippines, SM gave all the reporters 500 worth of GCs each. It's not a bribe though, more of an incentive for coming cause they didn't really dictate how they want your report to turn out. Haha! So anyway, the very careless me lost my GC but I was with a friend so we had another one to spare and so we decided to watch Monsters University after the event.

HABA NG KWENTO! So moving on.... Gosh, that cinema was hot and it wasn't even packed! I mean you can feel the aircon but you know it's set at the minimum. 128528

All they showed were paid commercials and no trailers! That's one thing I enjoy when I watch in the cinemas and you deprive me of trailers?!? 128557 WHY SM?!

At first the sound was 3D (yeah, there's 2D and 3D sound) but it seemed very distant and soft. Like only those seated nearer to the screen would be the only ones who would enjoy. I was scared that it would be that way the entire movie! Good thing they adjusted it when the movie actually played. 128514

The movie was great! Not as moving as the first but hey, it served a slice of childhood. 9996128155

I watched 'Man of Steel' with my parents and sister this afternoon. I didn't like the movie the first time I saw it. Thinking that I probably missed some things, I agreed to see it again.

But the primary reason why I said yes was because we were watching at The Director's Club.

There are only 30 seats in this cinema, all of them being La-Z-Boys. The seats are divided into five rows of six pairs, with an aisle in between each duo. The aisles are sufficiently wide and spacious, even when the leg rests of the seats are extended out. Every La-Z-Boy pair also has a small table in the middle for food and drinks.

Given the comfort of this set-up, the tickets should come with a warning like this...

"CAUTION: This establishment is not recommended for people with narcoleptic tendencies."

...because if the movie has slow parts, you may doze off.128164

And since the seats are P350 a pop, chances are, most of the patrons will be "decent" people. Good news, right Miri A/Dianne E/Em D?127913

It's also a bit chilly inside, so bring a jacket if you end up watching here. And since these are La-Z-Boys, couples unfortunately can't cuddle up or even hold hands. Sorry Lesley Ardelle E.128541

Oh! About MoS, I apparently didn't really miss anything. It was underwhelming then, it's underwhelming now.128078

Bar none, this is the the best way to waych a movie!!! Book in advance through the net, print your ticket away from the regular queue, wait in a separate lounge, then finally settle in to fully reclining Lazy Boys! So nice and private since there are only 30 seats. Show times are also spread apart with 30 minutes in between so they can inspect and clean the theater after each showing. I don't mind paying more because I get to enjoy the movie without worrying about sticky seats, wet floors, dirty bathrooms and long queues. 2 thumbs up!
