Dolores Santos started selling her kakanin to neighbors and to the local palengke patrons at the Malabon Central Market in the late 1930s.

Soon after, her kakanin became so popular that she soon opened a store at their house in Escanilla street in Malabon. With the help of her siblings, and armed with a passion for her products, the kakanins became even more popular, even reaching foreign shores.

Aling Dolor passed away in 1997, and the business is now being run by family members.

More than 7 decades after it first opened in Malabon, Dolor's Kakanin has branched out to different stores and kiosks all over the Metro to cater to our cravings for native delicacies. Sweet!

In our case, we usually get the bilao of assorted kakanin. A bilao typically has sapin sapin, kamoteng kahoy, ube, kutsinta, mais, and biko. Yummy!!!
