Had a craving for Korean food tonight. We decided to eat at the new resto of Don Day at Kalayaan Ave. They transfered there months ago from their original location inside Teacher's Village which we frequented a lot in the past. The evening buffet was a mix of pork and beef. I'm not sure if it was priced at P499 already before or if it was P449 in their old location. Anyway, we gave it a go.

Upon entering the resto I immediately missed their old place. This new place has a low ceiling and the layout seems congested. It is airconditioned unlike the old place which had a large unairconditioned area but was breezy because of the wide window and lots of electric fans. This new place, although it had several aircon units, was not cold enough. I saw an aircon unit that was turned off. I was sweating throughout my meal.

The food seemed to have changed too. The cut of the pork was now bacon cut unlike their cut before which were thicker and shorter. We requested for the old cut and they agreed but what we got was still not the same as their old cut. Even the side dishes available on the buffet table which used to be my favorites tasted different. I didn't eat as much as I used to before.

There was only one kind of lettuce available unlike before when they had two kinds.

They had drinks included in the buffet now, iced tea and different juices which were not labeled. I wanted to order a soda since their wasn't any included in the buffet drinks but they had none. There's free nescafe 3-in-1 coffee, though.

I have a feeling that this resto is being run by a different owner now. It's just not the same as before. The P499 buffet price for their evening buffet is too much for the quality we got. Unfortunately, this would be our last visit here. There are other Korean buffets that are better.

FLIES EVERYWHERE!! LOW QUALITY OF MEAT! SERVERS NOT ACCOMMODATING!

This is our 3rd time to eat here. The first 2, their service is ok. Food is ok. But since today is father's day we decided to eat here again.

I won't make this long. I'll just list down the things that aren't good about this restaurant.

-There are flies everywhere!!! You can also see in my pictures that there are flies on the brownies. They're even flying everywhere the buffet area and some followed us on our table. Disgusting!!!!

-Only the samgyupsal is available (they also have beef) but look at the cut of the pork. (Pls refer to my photo) Is that supposed to look like? Since it's father's day, the quality of the food they serve has changed into something unacceptable.

-Servers has a snob personality. You're already waving your hand frantically in front of them but they will still ignore you. When asking for a refill of pork you have to do 3 follow ups before they serve you one plate. ( we are 4 in our table and they only give us 1 plate, we are paying for 4 persons)

I have several more complaints about our experience here in this restaurant but the fact that you are dining with flies is unforgivable. We will never come back here and I'll definitely let my friends know about how bad our experience here in this filthy korean buffet.

Heads up! The management said they just recently closed their Malingap and Don Antonio branches..

You have two buffet options at this branch:
399php for all grilled pork, and 499php for beef. They have a "no sharing" rule; no mix and matching meats especially if you come as a group. Prices include drinks and everything on the center buffet spread.

They have a number of cooked food choices included in the buffet such as spicy mussels, japchae (glass noodles), fried pork cutlet, chicken curry, stir-fried chicken, and beef. They also have three different soups, ban chan (korean side dishes), fruits, and vegetables.

Both cooked and raw food are of good quality,
fresh, and enjoyable. The service at this branch is also tops-our waitstaff Michael was attentive and efficient :)

Bigger than their branch in Malingap and it's cooler thanks to their multiple ACs.

They have more choices for their buffet and worth the price. You can choose either Pork (399pesos) or Pork and Beef (499pesos). Happy tummy! 128076🏼

For a P399 Korean buffet, this place is not so bad. Aside from the clear soup with beef slices, the cooked buffet choices weren't so appealing, including the dessert. Good thing the pork and beef for Samgyeopsal, the highlight of my meal, super made up for the other buffet choices. I felt like I made sulit naman my lola's treat.

I would probably give this place a 4, but because it lacked some ~sparkle~ meaning liveliness and cleaning I just gave it a 3.

It was my first time to try Don Day and also my first time to eat unlikiyed samgyupsal. First of all, they need to add more parking (a perpetual problem of Maginhawa) and second, they need to check some of their servers' hearing. It was a bit funny actually, we were asking one of the waiter if we could park ib front one of the car and he answered "Pwede pork" so we repeated our question a bit louder because he might have heard us wrong but still same answer. We just asked another waiter and got a better answer. We started eating and grilling as soon as we sat down. Wow, we were all full! So so full. We were full and mabaho at the same time. You need to take a bath after going here because you are going to smell like grilled meat!

So my buddy and I decided to celebrate our freedom by having an unlimited samgyupsal feast here. I must say our experience was not one for the books. Upon entering we were asked if we wanted to stay inside the air conditioned room but it was very smoky inside so we opted for the other area. I don't know if that was the right decision it was extremely hot inside. It was lunch time, everyone was cooking on hot plates and they lack ventilation so expect to smell like food after. It was an uncomfortable cooking, eating and sweating experience.

As for the food, it did not meet my standards of Korean buffet. It lacked variety. The meat was good, I also like the deep fried japchae, sushi and crispy pork I think? I got full but I was not satisfied with what I ate. Their desserts were also limited.

They have a friendly service.

From Welcome Rotonda ride a FX going to SM Fairview. Disembark at Philcoa, ride a red trike and tell them you're going to Don Day.

Typical korean buffet. Servers were not accommodating they don't even smile when they're serving. Still I enjoyed eating with my colleagues. Price P399 + P50 (bottomless red iced tea) 🇰🇷

Korean Buffet. What more can you ask for? Unlimited everything! Most specially UNLIMITED Samgyeopsal wherein you could put into your other favourites inside the wrap (PS. Contents are highly subjective and is mostly focused on Samgyeopsal wraps alone).

I usually order plates of pork strips and grill it into crisp perfections (for me it's like how crisp chicharon is) then wait until it's ready. TIP: Oh, there are available oils, pepper and soysauce in their condiments area, so you would wanna add a bit of oil and season the meat before/while grilling it so it's not gonna be a dry-grilled-meat!

While waiting, I get a bowl of baby potatoes, if you know me well: I HATE POTATOES, but in this buffet, I eat 'em; I also take 2-3 bites of their available maki which I find fair enough tasty and if you're a sweet tooth, there is jellybean available (only experienced it once tho).

Also I take bites of their radish while I wait. I'm not sure if they purchase it or they make it but it's a personal favourite to be inside my happy pork strip wrap. And their anchovies with peanuts are yum and perfect also to be in the wrap! Their greens are kept fresh which makes the entire experience much more fun, enticing and yummy. So, add the garlic slices (also grilled with the pork strips), sauces and a bit of pepper, these are what's inside my comfort wrap.

When all is set and done with the pork strips, that's the only thing I eat. I'm a sucker for bacon and the pork strips are a piece of heaven to me. This buffet has always been my happy place. Aside from giving me my unlimited samgyeopsal, the servers are nice, and the price is affordie! :)

Note: they close midday! (Around 3pm-6pm I guess)

Paid PHP399 for dinner, for unlimited beef, samgyupsal and side dishes. There are much more side dishes here than in the Korean buffet I usually to eat at (Matgalne in Makati) so that's a plus. The place was also big enough that we didn't have to wait before being seated.

I only hope the samgyupsal had more meat than fat, but at least there was beef as alternative meat (that wasn't 3/4 fat vs actual meat). My companions and I also smelled like we ourselves were cooked Korean meat, but I guess that can't be helped.

I've been here a few years back when it was a 5-min walk from my old office. Last Tuesday I brought the bf to revisit Don Day.

I was disappointed to see it looked bare except for the big streamer showing that on Jan 8 their anniversary, they're extending a 20% discount. Guess we came 2 days early. Lol.

For 399/head we had unlimited pork and beef cuts to grill and the buffet spread. The buffet choices weren't that appealing but we made do with chapchae, some scrambled egg roll, potato croquettes and Korean fried chicken. they also had a lot of greens, and some mixed salads too. We didn't bother to get another serving of meat.

It filled us but we were not too pleased. This needs a major overhaul.
