After a very long time, nakakain din ako ulit sa Don Henrico's. I can't remember when was my last time to eat here. Natatandaan ko lang sa Pedro Gil pa yun. Andun paba un? Hahaha

This branch of Don Henrico's is like old na. Parang hindi na masyadong namemaintain.. Sira kasi yung door.. Kailangan mo pang iangat bago itulak.. Hehe

Mom and I ordered pizza and pasta.
It still tasted excellent. And for sharing padin siya. Like dati. :)

Sana maayos nila ung place, madami padin naman kumakain eh. 128076128149

My very first dining experience with don hen and it didn't made a good note on me.

the place looks like an old italian resto. the tables were too high and too close to the chairs, we were like kids with the table top chest high.

the service was fast but the servers are very forgetful. we have to ask for our water twice before it gets to our table, I can't do what |ooloo insight suggests to do, cause the water was inside the kitchen. We even have to ask twice for table napkins.

we ordered the cheeseburger pizza and the don hen pizza. bought tasted okay nothing especial, I wished I listened to Roegan when he recommended their cheese pizza. But however their cheeseburger pizza was a delight because of their generous topping of lettuce and tomato, I've never had a pizza with a fresh vegge salad on top. I felt amazing like I ate something healthy even though it was a pizza.

since I regret our orders maybe I'd be dining here again just so I could give Don hen a justice.

Don Henrico's is not dead! Don Henrico's is not dead! Don Henrico's is not dead! Don Henrico's is not dead! Don Henrico's is not dead! Don Henrico's is not dead!

Don Henrico's is one of my favorite pizza places in the country. I still remember the first time I tried it. My dad and I went to their first ever branch in Metro Manila (Katipunan) back when I was a kid.

Ooohh I can still recall the experience. People waiting to be seated, full house, servers everywhere, food everywhere, it was one of the busiest restaurants back in the day. And I can still remember the first pizza that I tried. Their 4 cheese pizza back in the day was one of the best. It was very tasty, fulfilling, and it has lots of cheese. I couldn't even chew it when I tried it!

So when I got stuck in GH and decided not to head out yet because of EDSA, I decided to try Don Henrico's this past Friday to find out why it's not the talk of the town anymore.

So I got their 10-inch 4 cheese pizza (8 slices). The server told me that it'd take them 20 min. to serve the pizza. For me, that means it's really being cooked fresh.

While waiting for my pizza, I looked around and noticed that I was their only customer that night. 128528 Kind of sad because other restos were packed.

After 20ish minutes, I finally got my pizza. It was served really hot. The 4 cheeses were melting. I took my first bite and saw Brian O'Connor speeding with his Nissan Skyline GT-R on a quarter mile.

No offense meant. What I'm trying to say is that it was a heaven-like experience. IT IS (and will always be) THE BEST 4 CHEESE PIZZA IN THE WORLD.

One slight irk though. The layer was noticeably thinner compared to when I last tried it. Maybe over a decade ago. 128517

People think they suck. But they don't. They just lack the motivation to be competitive again.

A lot of branches closed down. And even if the last one closes down, Don Henrico's will be remembered as one of the best pizza places here in the country.

...and yes, I am speaking in behalf of all the people who've tried it. Whether they liked it or not, it's still the best. 128591

It was my first time to dine here and i availed their Lunch Buffet for P199 (11AM - 2PM) affordable huh..? Well, its P199 plus service fee of P19.90 so all in all it's P218.90 Including a Drink of your choice.
The Staffs are courteous upon arriving and are attentive. Liked the quiet and calm ambiance of the place (well, in this particular branch i guess) liked the instrumental background music while you are eating (but nothing beats the Chinese BGM at Chuan Kee. 128513 on a separate review). The Lunch Buffet Consists of Pastas, Pizzas, Potato Wedges, Garlic Bread, a DIY Salad Corner, some Dips and Sauces and Nachos.
I liked the Cheese dispenser on the table along side the condiments
Loved the Salad Bar fruits and Vegetables are crisp and fresh
The Spaghetti Sauce was both sweet and more overpowering on the sourness i guess.
Cheese Sauce was a bit Salty though and so do the Caesar Sauce for the Salad
Taco Sauce lacks some spiciness
All in all it was a SuliTipid and quite Busolved Lunch

Actually I never been to any Don Henricos restaurants, it was my first time to visit and eat here, we decided to stay for awhile and wait for our friend who will treat us (browsing since they have wifi 128522128076).

At around quarter to 11am the head waiter informed us and said that they have buffet compose of create your own salad, pizza, pasta, drinks (iced tea and choice of soft drinks (Pepsi Products)

Since chicken wings are not included in their buffet set we ordered 3 pieces of it and its big compare to other, but my friend told me that before the wings are too big as in BIG! compare today... but as I've taste it, I liked it and it was good.

The service in this area is good, the waiters are nice and very attentive.

Food taste the same as before. Vegetables are still fresh and crispy. But why does everything feel so old? From the menu choices, interiors, plates & utensils, cups, chairs, waiters, flooring, even the music seems to transport you back ten years! It seems like Don Hen still likes to live in the past when it was still a hip joint for a few months. It's a good thing it still has a few loyal followers. But I doubt it will be anything more than a cash cow until it dies. Not unlike Congo grill.

Is it just me? Or has Don Hen lost the passion to serve delicious food? I remember Don Hen was my comfort food during my younger years. My family would regularly spend Sunday lunches there.

But somehow, yesterday's dinner was not what I was hoping for. The place didn't stand out. The crew were just there to work. And the food. Oh my, the food. It just seems like they had plenty of salt and they just have to put a little bit too much on the food. Starting from the soup to their famed Buffalo Wings. After 3 spoonful of Creamy Chicken soup, I couldn't take it anymore. Their calamari, i'm sure, was the frozen type. It was served callously. Nobody cares about the presentation! It just wasn't inviting. Their Four Seasons salad were fresh, though. Then my much anticipated Buffalo Wings came. Size was huge! But the taste, again, was too salty. And I am not a fan of bland food, mind you.

Overall, Don Hen let me down. I will have to put them a level down from great family restaurants to the ordinary fast food places. I feel so bad.
