definitely a threat to Terry's selection and Barcino. excellent grilled octopus and croquetas selection with a 2006 vintage bordeaux ( less than 2 k/ bottle) 5 star service! Must try place and wide selection of old and new world wines.

Everything we ordered was really yummy! Special mentions would be the octopus and the scallop dishes. I literally said - OH MY GOD hehe

I do have one major concern else I would've given 5 stars - the wait staff didn't know what is proper and what isn't. One time the wait staff reached across the table to give me my drink. The other time she asked to get the plates already when there was still food on the table.

I do hope they get trained properly but overall the food is 128076.

Great ambience, vibe and food. Donosti is a high-end fine dining Spanish resto. Be prepared to spend!

Ordered:

Seafood Paella - it was served on a plat and not on a usual paellera. Serving is really for 1 hungry ?person but may be shared if you're ordering other dishes. It was creamy and mildly flavored. Limited seafood though. Priced at Php495.

Diabelitos - spicy fried chorizos. Also small serving, bitin. It's not that spicy but has a kick.

Pitcher of Sangria - also good.

Probably the best Spanish resto in the metro!

The place was small and cozy. Staff were attentive and pleasant. But mehhn, the food was just so good!!

To start, we had the pulpo (octopus) which was so tender and juicy, cooked to perfection! The shrimps in the gambas were succulent and fresh! I had no choice but to mop up all the olive oil left. It was that good. The bacalao salad was equally delish! Loved the roasted pimientos that came with it!

For mains, we had the crispy pork chuleton, paella valenciana, pork and white bean stew, and the highlight of the night: roasted leg of lamb! The lamb was so tender and gamey and the skin crispy. Probably the best lamb leg I've eaten everrr. It had just the right amount of salt which made it even more perfect. The paella was also a real stand out. You can literally taste the freshness of the ingredients coming out. Awesome stuff here. The pork dishes were also good, but compared to the other two mains, mehh.

Desserts were so-so though. Had the almond cake and pear and apple tart. Nothing too fancy to rave about.

Thanks to my looloo app, I was able to finally try and order the best sellers here!

Ordered:

Pulpo served with cauliflower purée (new version, I heard they used to serve it with potatoes) - loved loved loved.. I will repeat it again LOVED this dish! Wow! Yummy! Best thing I ever ate! Worth every penny! Cooked perfectly! Soft and purée with some oil gave it a kick! Thought I would not be full with this but I was wrong!

Seabass main course- okay still the pulpo was the star 127775127775127775 of the night!

Pinxtos- tapas --got the one with eggs and potatoes. Ok nothing special.

Sangria- I love the one from Barcino's still.

Service- was very good!

Parking- this is a problem! no available parking. Could only park across the street or at the side of globe building.. Hassle when it's raining!

Definitely will comeback for the pulpo! Yummy!

Ciao,

I love the interiors and the vibe of this place. Wood shutters, comfortable upholstered seats, big bar at one end of the room, painted brick walls. Not trendy. Good acoustics in that the place isn't too noisy.

Service was okay. Courteous and friendly. Funny Lang because the wait staff try to pronounce the dishes in the Spanish way so I could not understand them. I felt like an old lady with a hearing aid asking them to repeat the dish name several time. 128117 I'm used to the pinoy way of saying Spanish words. Lol.

Food - since it was just the H and I, we ordered a few things only.

We wanted to start out with the pinxtos but there were only a few left by the time we arrived at 8:30 pm.

First we shared a tortilla stuffed with tuna and something (got lost in the pronunciation.) We didn't like this version of tortilla. The tuna didn't go well with the cold egg omelette.

The husband also ordered a croissant with jamon. Nothing exciting. But it was good naman daw.

We then shared the croquetas assortment, which were two each of chorizo, jamon, chicken, I think, bacalao, and pulpo. The croquetas were quite different from the usual in that they looked and tasted like fried milk (similar to the Chinese resto dessert of fried milk). I liked them except for the bacalao, which tasted a little bland.

The show stopper was the pulpo "something" Gallega or Gallego. Grilled octopus, nicely charred but still tender. With red colored oil (asuete? chorizo drippings? Inasal? Joke!! Whatever it was it was good). All on top of potato slices. So yummeh!! We didn't expect the dish to be so big. When we reached the halfway point, we were so busog and had to force ourselves to finish it. Sayang nga we couldn't order more dishes. The group of 6 beside ordered so much. Some clam stew, steak and lots of other things. Nainggit ako. Hahahaha.

We didn't order dessert because we were so stuffed. Although we did share a glass of white wine.

The H and I really enjoyed this tapas bar. The atmosphere is relaxed, low key. (Lately, noisy bars and restaurants stress us out.) Food is good, not spectacular or "envelope pushing", but still good. I would give it 5 stars if not for the 128164128164128164 pinxtos experience. Nevertheless, we would definitely go back.

Now, this is an upscale Spanish resto with authentic tapas and paellas. They also have a fairly priced wine list and they also serve local and imported beers on tap. Pricey, yes. Worth it? Yes!

Best Spanish restaurant I've tasted so far !!! Recommendations ? Try everything ! But I loved the octopus and how they made it so tender .. Simple egg dish (huevos) made so delicious ...it's in the spices which comes directly from Spain ... For Lechon de leche lovers you have to order it at least the day before !

The octopus is a must try. Their lamb though was not that good. Good ambience a little bit pricey for my liking.

Best thing we ordered was the pulpo de gallego. It was soft and tasty.
Bit disappointed on the serving size of the paella. Croquettas tasted a tad too milky for me. But I did like the jamon we had. Forgot what it was called exactly.
Price is on the high side but great experience all in all. Loved the ambiance 10084
