I had another blast of fun and more added tan to my skin in today's tour. It's a 30minute van ride from our hotel to Honda Bay where a vessel (barge type) will bring you to the island at appointed time. The vessel ride will take about 45 mins so you have time to snooze for a bit.

We were so lucky that there were only less than 15 customers here. We literally owned the place.

128204 Snorkeling
This was our first activity. Should you wish to have a guide with you, pay additional 300 pesos. Our package includes the snorkeling materials, life vest and a few buns of bread. It's fun to feed the fishes. There's also mangroves where small sharks (only eats small fish) dwell. It was also a good timing since there were no jellyfishes around. I like their equipments--clean and lo leaky goggles.

128204 lunch
It was delicious, servings were more than enough, and the service was superb. This is also included in the day tour that we availed. We had salted egg, latok, garden salad and apple salad for the appetizers. Pinakbet, lapu-lapu, grilled squid, and tinolang manok for the mains, and creamy ginataan and leche flan for desserts. I liked the garden salad, pinakbet, and both desserts the best! Coffee is free flowing. It's amazing how the maya birds go near to you and you can feed them rice 128518128514

128204 sun bathing
Yes. We went to the beach front and enjoyed the wooden reclining seats for ourselves--the beach was ours! White sand and blue sea scenery while you relax

128204 canoeing
I was excited i could row a canoe again! It was only super hot that time. Nonetheless the experience was good.

I'd special like to thank ms. Emy Corro their manager for allowing us to use the pool free of charge! They got a jacuzzi, a 3 feet pool and a 4 feet pool. We enjoyed taking videos underwater. The pool is salty by the way--even the shower beside it. The water is also warm but rest assure it's clean for indoor swimming.

There's also massage that ranges from 600-1500 services. You could also play basketball and beach volleyball there. The hotel accomodation is 6500 per night with additional 1500 per person maximum of 4 pax in a room. Breakfast included.

This island is high-class and is being visited by tourists mostly by Saturdays and Sundays.

We went here last September 2013 to have our late anniversary celebration. We really want to check in but unfortunately the price of the rooms are very expensive. I was able to check some tour package sites and bought a day tour on Dos Palmas, Palawan for Php 800.00/person inclusive of buffet lunch.

The beach area is so clean, staffs are very friendly and accommodating. The tour includes water sports activities like kayaking, snorkeling, etc. The swimming pool has a charge of Php 500.00 but we were able to get it for free because the staff told us that we can't do any water activities due to the bad weather. Luckily, we able to do the water sports activities in the morning when we arrived at the resort.

The food comes with a different varieties of seafoods, good food and a perfect ambiance.
We're surely gonna go back to this place.

1. Pro: Quiet. For people who need to commune with nature this would be a great spot. We were lucky to not have noisy neighbors, or the rooms have thick walls perhaps, we did not hear a peep from them. Con: Sometimes it can be too quiet. No tv for non-exec rooms. Wifi is only available at the restaurant. Maybe Con: They provide videoke if requested, I thought that was weird. But videoke soundwaves did not reach our room. Which leads us to...

2. Pro: rooms are far from common area (pool, restaurant, videoke kings and queens) which is great if you want peace and quiet, and away from prying eyes. But Con: rooms are far from common area (non-mangroved beach area, jacuzzi, spa, reception) We stayed at a room where it's a good 5min leisurely walk from common areas. Although...

3. Pro: bikes are available for guests. Con: there are only limited number of bikes. Side note, i overheard from one british guest to another, he found it rude that his bike was taken by another guest when he didnt return it to the reception yet.

4. Pro: Delicious food, excellent breakfast buffet selection. Maybe Con: you might have to shell out more than the usual, and room service has additional 30%, i cant blame them, it's kinda far.

5. Pro: Beautiful scenery, fun activities. Snorkle, kayak to your heart's content. Snorkling kuya was nice. Clean pool and jacuzzi. Volleyball, tennis, basketball, billiards, table tennis, darts. Con: none.

6. Pro: Restaurant service is great. Con: hotel/room service is kinda slow and would require follow ups. Yeah, front desk receptionists look tired.

Overall: 4 out of 5
I got my well deserved vacay in my 4d3n, but i recommend staying for only two days and book in puerto princesa to get to see more of the city.

Dos Palmas has been popular and notorious in the early 2000's because of a certain incident involving rebels but at the same time, it was also dubbed as one of the best island resorts in Palawan.

However, it looks like time flies fast and they can't keep up.

When we went to Puerto Princesa, we wanted to maximize our stay and not just visit "the" cave so we decided to book at Dos Palmas.

Going there, the manner is a bit similar to how Pearl Farm welcomes their guests. But for the sake of comparison, Pearl Farm is way better. Simply because their music is more, uhhmm, native and they have a large number of reception crew to welcome you whereas in Dos Palmas, only a handful, tired-looking staff are there. And to think it's early in the morning. I have to give them props for trying, though. The welcome drinks are so-so as well unlike in Pearl Farm, you can really taste the freshness and the real fruit.

Short info, they say Dos Palmas was named Dos Palmas because of the 2 huge palm trees in the island. When I asked where it was, they said it already reached its maximum age so they had to cut it off. Sad. 128546

I'd like to give them a thumbs up for having a better pool than Pearl Farm, however, I'm thinking if i'll take it back because swimming in the pool is not included in your rate if you're taking the day tour. Boo! 128078

We roamed the area but I was disappointed because I couldnt see anything spectacular. Just dirt, and grass full of fallen leaves. Another boo for not taking care of their surroundings.

I also noticed that the staff are not that happy. I mean, you'll see in a person's eyes if he's genuinely enjoying what he's doing as opposed to just smiling because it's his duty to smile. 128540

The buffet selection wasn't as big as Pearl Farm's and the taste is so-so as well.

If not for the snorkelling, where I saw amazing fishes big and small with different colors like that of a rainbow and gigantic live clams, I wouldve given this a 3. But since I pretty much enjoyed swimming with a great number of species, and our instructor was very very patient and attentive with us, I give this 4 127775.

By the way, their rate is higher than Pearl Farm and I couldn't understand why. 128078
