Last Wednesday, I went out on a dinner date with my college best friends. We were looking for a new place to dine at Engineering and Lilac when the car's tires brought us here.

More than the sample menu placed on an easel stand that was displayed outside, what sold this place to us even more was its artsy feels, seen from the exteriors up to its interiors.

Upon entering, you'll see wooden, colored tables and chairs that gave liveliness and character to it. Framed mini boards were displayed on their brick walls along with sets of colored chalks for guests to write quotes and hugot lines. This served as their freedom wall for guests to experience and enjoy.

As you walk to the aisle leading to the main entrance door of the air conditioned part of the resto, you'll see a few wall murals that certainly look even prettier in daylight. Their glass doors were painted and designed with images and nice quotes about food, cooking, friends and life, in general.

Once you step inside, I am definitely sure that you'll be in love with their ceiling decors and interior decors, just like how I felt! Their ceiling was filled with bird, brown paper origamis that gave it that very organic creativity. The sides were evenly decorated with mini plants in steel cans that were lighted well with posh looking mini spotlights. The other side of the wall has grass hedges and a nicely created calligraphy art of the words EAT + ART. There were also mini framed paintings that showed how artsy the owners were.

We ordered the ff. items from their menu that has a wide selection from salad to pasta to rice meals, etc.

The KESONG PUTI SALAD was just OK for me. The romaine lettuce were crunchy and crispy, made even better with the vinaigrette and the thick slices of the white cheese.

The MALUNGGAY PESTO SPAGHETTI was a bit oily for me. I wasn't able to taste the malunggay that much but it was made yummier with the bits of longganisa in it.

The CREAMY CHICKEN POT PIE was surprising as it was served on a sizzling plate. The mashed potatoes were generously served but the pot pie tasted a bit blunt and was quite milky only.

The LUMPIANG SISIG was good. Crispy from the outside and the sisig filling was really generously placed. I liked the dip that tasted like ranch with some chicken slices.

Overall, the experience was pleasant and I would definitely come back here, not just for the place and food, but also for the waitstaff and servers that were all smiles and accommodating all the way. The owner was really nice too because we overstayed up until the resto's closing but she didn't mind us at all. We just loved the place a lot that's why!

If you'll find yourself near Concepcion, Marikina anytime soon, drop by here and see it for yourself! ♥️
