Service is a bit slow. No one accosted us to a table. It took sometime for our order to reach the table. Despite this, the food is still good. Sopa de Mariscos is so yummy! Beef salpicao is so tender. Love their food talaga!

One Sunday afternoon, last month, my mom and I took my busy sister out for some retail and food therapy.

My mom and I just came from a buffet lunch for my cousins' graduation, but that didn't get me full enough... so when we got to Greenbelt, I immediately suggested to eat first in Dulcinea, because I was craving for churros (after just having the overload of La Lola churros with my boyfriend, the night before lol).

I wanted something savory beforehand tho, so I asked my sister if she wanted to get a dish for herself and then another one we could both share. And, of course, she agreed cause she was starving.

She wanted Carbonara, which I thought was too heavy. Plus, we ordered Salpicao to share. And one order of churros.

Carbonara- I take back my thought of it being too heavy, because I thought of that as something negative. But it was the complete opposite! I loved the carbonara! The taste of the egg being super evident was what stood out for me! Usually, carbonara from other places are just cheese and cream, but Dulcinea's is the classic one and the best I've had in a long time!

Salpicao- Although I suggested this, it wasn't so great after all. It's supposed to be a specialty but it didn't seem so special to me.

Churros- The night before, with all the La Lola we had, I thought I was done with churros for the time being, but turns out I wasn't!

In all honesty, Dulcinea is and always will be something. Best churros ever!!! 100841008410084

My love for Dulcinea's Churros con Chocolate will never waiver - at least not yet! I've been going to Dulcinea every single Friday since the first week of Feb. just to indulge in their Churros! This time, we decided to get some other desserts and since we were with hubby, he tried their dishes.

We gave their Salpicao a try and it was awesome! I haven't had Beef Salpicao this way - beef cubes that were tender and cooked medium well instead of the usual "really cooked" state. It was like eating small pieces of steak! Loved that the garlic flavor was just right. This also came with some potato slices that were smothered with lotsa butter.

Then their SWEETS!

I've been eyeing their Malacanang Roll but was always not available in Glorietta but this time I scored a slice in Greenbelt. It was good. It looked like Camp Fire Cake because of the torched marshmallow icing with peaks that it's covered with but totally different inside. This roll was made up of white sponge cake rolled with some thick and luscious chocolate filling. Totally sweet, this cake is a good pair for a great cup of coffee.

Aside from my daughters usual order of Ripe Mango Shake, she requested to try their Mango Crepe this time. The crepe had the right thickness and had generous serving of ripe mango slices inside with some cream. Drizzled with chocolate syrup, it also came with a piece of cherry. Daughter loved it with no doubt!

I guess Dulcinea is my new favorite Friday date place with my daughter!

Salpicao. Salpicao. Salpicao. Salpicao.

I've been having this dish long enough to know that it started at P210 and now it is P375. That's how popular it is.

The service at this branch is not so good. They 'last call' at 7:45pm and close at 8:30pm. THe mall closes at 9pm so i have a feeling the staff's kinda lazy.

Holy croissants!!! I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I decided to take a light brunch at Dulcinea while waiting for Greenbelt5 to open for some items I needed to pick up at TWG Tea Salon... The croissants ala mancha were huge and filling! I could only eat one croissant with marmalade and salted butter (finally, a sensible cafe that uses SALTED butter... I mean, what is butter without salt? Really? LOL)....The brewed coffee was good, too.

Service was within five minutes (lightning quick!). Very nice and very good :)

I also was happy with the long overdue facelift of this branch. Very nice couches that give you a sense of privacy, coffee tables are updated with a homey natural feel (as opposed to the all-cream color and very busy designs they used to carry). Chairs are uber comfy. The function room has also been updated and can seat 15 persons (hmmm.... Nice option for a meeting to get out of the office from time to time).

Happy new year, everyone!

We used ensogo vouchers for this dinner. We had two paellas, chicken fingers and caesar salad included in the deal. We also had a lot of churros included as well. We had to order an extra paella valenciana because we are big eaters. For drinks, we got house blend iced teas but we ordered the fruit shakes because it's a family favorite.

We didn't like the paella because it's didn't have an authentic spanish taste. It's more bland and the rice was more chewy rather than al dente. There's a lack of olive oil and saffron in the dish. It wasn't totally inedible but it wasn't great.

The caesar salad was just okay, nothing special. It's like the dressing was store bought. The chicken fingers were also just okay. It tasted like those things you can buy frozen from supermarkets.

The saving grace will be the deliciously crispy churros. We had 4 servings of it with 5 pieces each. The chocolate dip was just right in terms of bitterness and sweetness. It's hands down the best churros dish in town. I personally had 5 pieces and I could have eaten more if I didn't feel it was a little bit bad for the health. Of course, the tropical fruit shakes was still just as good as when we had it years ago. It was a combination of different fruits blended to perfection.

The classic churros with chocolate and baked macaroni and cheese.

Food is not really that great at least for these two. I don't know why old people adore the churros 128116128117..

Gave it 4 stars just because it brings back childhood memory, I'm sure most of us has memories coming here with the family most of Sundays.

To be honest, I would have been perfectly happy getting my breakfast tapa fix from Jollibee at half the cost. The saving grace of this restaurant in the early morning is really the ambiance. It offers a quiet escape from the honking of the cars outside on a busy Monday morning.

I enjoyed my meal, don't get me wrong. But my mood today really sets PHP 180 per plate on the steep side of breakfast expenditures.

Next visit would probably just involve me indulging in churros instead. I heard they're really good with this.

Bought some pastries for take away from Dulcinea....

Was disappointed w the deterioration of quality of their assortments...save for their cream puffs.

Ordered ff

2 brazo de mercedes
6 chocolate eclairs
4 madrilenos
2 boxes small cream puffs

Total bill P752--

Aside from the cream puffs the other pastries tasted like box and the egg cream were bland.

Anyhow,sa sobrang disappointment ko, i gobbled up 1box of the mini cream puffs :)

Post Milo Marathon (still) haha

Whenever we eat here, I would only order burger or pasta. Today, I ordered pasta. I chose Puttanesca.

Tasted like there's something lacking.. Perhaps, it's salt.. But I think it should really taste like that.. So I just added the green pepper from the Salpicao that my cousin ordered since she wouldn't eat it. Voila! Much better! Haha.

Tried out Dulcinea's new look (new interiors, new menu). The lunch menu was quite pricey (@P400 to P500 per meal). We confirmed and reconfirmed from the waiter if the food listed in the main dishes can be for sharing but they insisted that the items are good for one person only. We ended up ordering their tuna sandwich (@P130) and their chorizo pasta (@P230).

Dulcinea has been known for good pastries and the croissant of their tuna sandwich is no exception. The bread was cooked right (a little toasted) but would appear "makunat" to those used to having soft croissant as offered by other pastry shops. The tuna, however, seemed coming straight from the can. Nothing special about it. The potato fries that came with the tuna sandwich is also quite ordinary. Large cut potatoes from Potato Corner would be more favorable for the younger generation.

The chorizo pasta was quite soft, a little overcooked. We also had to add some Parmesan and pepper to liven the taste.

Seemingly, the menu and looks of the store targeted a more mature, more senior market. The resto was full when we came in at around noon - with patrons mostly middle-aged and senior folks. Our taste buds were probably just expecting the tastier, more flavorful, more affordable "old" Dulcinea menu.
