I was never really big on breakfast because I've always been a late riser. Hence, any restaurants that serve all-day breakfast win brownie points for me, because some of the best meals there is, like sinangag and tuyo, pandesal, and my all-time favorite, champorado are served for the early risers.

Then I heard of Early Bird Breakfast and has always been curious about it. There is one in BGC but the one that I got to visit is the Century Mall branch, right before my colleagues and I played a game at Mystery Manila.

It's open as early as 7am. Price range goes from 200 to 500 pesos. The ambiance looks homey, the space inside is small but there are extra table and seats outside to accommodate more people.

The waitress greeted us warmly and handed us newspapers. When I flipped them open I realized that they aren't newspapers, they are the menu. I gotta say that's genius. Because what else goes well with breakfast but a newspaper? Well at least to the old-fashion people it is.

Among our orders were Viva Longganisa (P345), Lemon Butter Bangus (P325), Sweet Katcino (P375), and Adobo Sunrise (P325). All of these meals are served with sinangag and egg. All of them were also presented rather beautifully.

I had Adobo Sunrise, the meat is shredded into thin strips so this is more like adobo flakes. It was just okay, but I wouldn't recommend it because I didn't find it satisfying. It doesn't even taste like adobo.

I wouldn't recommend Sweet Katcino also, which is a combination of katsu and longganisa. It's basically chicken cooked in longganisa sauce or mixture of some sort. The serving is big but it was so sweet it would make you cringe.

I wasn't able to sample Viva Longganisa so I cannot comment. Lemon Bangus is good, but if you don't like small serving this one would make you unhappy. There are just two slabs of bangus meat that are so small my officemate didn't know whether she'd laugh or be annoyed about it.

The iced latte that I ordered also left much to be desired. It was more water than coffee.

Honestly I expected too much from Early Bird because of the good reviews but I find it to be just average. Loved the ambiance and the food presentation though.

This has always been a fave breakfast place!
Ordered our usual Crispy Arroz Caldo and gave sausage skillet a try! 128523 i enjoyed the potato hash so much! It was really flavorful, crispy on the outside but mashy in the inside 128523128523128523

Would definitely come back and try more from their menu than our usuals 128515

Its not my usual Monday. No work and I'm in EBBC! Server quickly assisted us as we seated in their Al Fresco. Bright lighting perfect for foodie pics.

For drinks: in the menu, it says that it was brought by Craft Coffee

I got their Caffe Latte(P110), creamy and hot enough. A good one plus bigger than the standard cup.

Hot Chocolate - this one is good, not the ordinary hot chocolate.. It has Nutella in it10084

For breakfast:

Lemon Butter Bangus (P325) pan seared bangus fillets in lemon butter relish served with garlic rice topped by poached egg- So beautifully arranged! Bagus is crispy fried, that i even ate the skin. Its my favorite and I can never go wrong woth this. Poached egg on it makes it extra special.

Bacon and Egg Nest (P295) 2 strips of bacon and one egg baked with cheese on top of a soft bread cup with a small side salad underneath.-

Verdict: well prepared and tastes great. Still Enjoyed their the dining experience the second time. Wantedto try their waffles next visit128522

Another first!. Plus, Morning dates are extra special to me..its like an instant coffee, 3-in-1 128540 (bf + good coffee+ my favorite meal). Naks!

We dine at their branch in Century Mall. At around 9am, the place is full, so we have to dine in their al fresco. We are quickly assisted as soon as we seated. We are handed the menu list, which I thought a newspaper (something creative)128522

I had a hard time in choosing as I often mention, i'm an all-day-breakfast lover10084️. But I ended up with something with "sinangag" or garlic rice (ever favorite carbs!). We had:

Sunny Salpicao (P325)- tender pieces of chicken breast marinated with signature sauce and sautèed with button mushrooms, served with sunny side up egg and garlic rice- The taste is so powerful, generous serving. This is a rice intensive meal.

Sweet and Spicy Tuyo (P295) Classic dried salty fish in sweet and spicy sauce. Served with breakfast rice and sunny side up egg. Different flavours all in one bite!

Cappuccino (P110) happy about the serving, size bigger than a regular cup. And yeah, its creamy, I can taste the whip cream in it. Perfect blend128523128523128523

I find the smoothies interesting, esp the Vitamin C. And thought of having bread or pancakes next time. This is definitely a great place to visit again.

Can't get enough of the "beautiful" & delish breakfast at Early Bird, so I had to plan another visit, but this time at their Century City Mall branch. We enjoyed all our orders. Everything was spot-on imo.

Breakfast any time! Went here for a light lunch while waiting for my friend.

Ultimate Grilled Cheese with Roasted Tomato Soup - Served warm. The bread was crispy and cheese was tasty,didn't notice the onion relish until I re-read the menu. I love the roasted tomato soup, it still has small chunks of tomato and some herbs. Really flavorful.

Lemon and Mint Iced Tea - I should've ordered it without ice first. It's bland for me. Couldn't taste the lemon.

Classic Lemon Tart - Citrusy sweet. Served with fresh pouring cream on the side. The shell was a bit tough.

Next time I'll try some of the heavy meals. Overall, I like the ambience. They have a high ceiling so the place feels and looks spacious.

I really like their arroz caldo 128523 although would have been great if it was just the classic one. Their version is called Crispy Arroz caldo, so it comes with adobo flakes; which tasted salty for me and the flavor was also quite overpowering. Next time, I'll try to have it on the sides 128077🏻

It has been a while since I last ate here, I had very good recollection of their Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese Sandwich 128523
So I suggested this place to Mark O for our breakfast 9786️ and we got the Tomato Soup&Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Crispy Arroz Caldo. And wow! I looooovvveee their Crispy Arroz Caldo! It was super yummy and is now my fave dish here hehe 128523128525

I would like to say that breakfast has always been my favorite meal of the day but that just isn't true. You see, I'm not a morning person, so I always skip breakfast just so I could get a couple more. 128517

Yin & Yang Champorado (Php 275)
The mixure of dark and white chocolate is just pure bliss. And it's good! We enjoyed munching on the sweet toasted dilis too!

S’mores in a Jar (Php 275)
My curiosity was piqued when I remembered that I really enjoyed making s’mores by the bonfire in the middle of a cold night when I stayed in the La Union. So imagine my excitement when I saw this!

Every scoop from this jar is heavenly good! The top part is perfectly torched so you’ll definitely get that chewy texture of the marshmallow.

I’m actually smiling while writing this post as I think about the dessert. Sadly, we weren't able to try other dessert because we were in a hurry. Next time then... next time. 128588

Had dinner at this resto with my high school friends. We each ordered a meal so I got to taste quite a number of items from their menu. Their menu is written in papers similar to a newspaper - witty. Their food mostly ranges from 200 and up. I ordered Sunny Salpicao (P345) which I found salty, not to mention quite oily. The Sweet Glazed Katcino (P375) was good though. It had a toasted crust which I liked. I didn't find anything special with their Ying & Yang Champorado (P275!) which came with anchovies. The Sausage Skillet (P275) was also good but as probably expected from anything that comes in skillets, greasy. The Putobumbong Pancakes were so soft! If I'm not mistaken, they only serve them during Christmas season (makes sense. Haha) so you should try them out now while they still have it. I also ordered Oreo Snowflake (P145), a cookies-and-cream milkshake, nothing outstanding about it. The ambiance was good, service was ok, food presentation was probably what made the food costly. 128514128517

After a horrible check in at Best Western, we had our brunch in the nearest mall which houses restaurants that offer a lot of quality food (mas may quality pa talaga ung pagkain neto kesa sa service nung hotel #DiAkoMakaMoveOn).
I was about to tell my aunt to go straight to Le Petit but she already made up her mind that we’ll be having out very rare “family brunch”, because basically, we don’t do brunches for we have breakfasts #7AMClassHappen. (actually sya lang naman ang hindi nagbreakfast samin)
We decided to dine outside because there aren’t enough space for us inside. And also, the couch really looks fancy. From the outside, I really knew the interior of the restaurant is instagrammable and cute for a breakfast vibe.
They gave us the menu and I was really amazed, napa “wiw this is #awzm” talaga ako about their menu. It is not your ordinary laminated or book-type menu, this one’s a newspaper, the breakfast ambience is so alive.
I was almost there to saying I’ll be having tapa… then I realized I had Tapa for lunch yesterday, and tapa for breakfast earlier… so habang buhay na lang ako magtatapa? I have to change my mind because if not, baka tapa na ko bukas. So I ordered my thing which I know would be good for me because I kinda feel like I am an American by that time.
When the crew got our orders, she served us with a glass of water, hindi na kailangan manghingi kasi diba ganon naman dapat? Matik na yon diba? It’s really a must for a staff to know what he/she should do or offer to his/her costumers. #BitterPaDin
So we have to wait for like 10-15 minutes for the food to be served, but wala pang three minutes, nauna na akong papakin ng lamok. So I have to move once in a while. Then my auntie asked “sumasali ka ba dun sa contest ng looloo?” And I was like “yes… why?” And then she said, “Okay.” It came to me that the presentation of the dish in this place might be artsy enough or worth my review (naks naman big word ng WORTH).
The first thing that was served was the French Toast Fondue. A batch of french toast strips which comes with three dips namely: melted chocolate, cinnamon sugar, and maple syrup. Each is a great dip for the strips which are crunchy on the edges but chewy on the inside. Kinda burnt, but it was fine.
The next that came is the Handcrafted Belgian Chocolate which comes for two already. It was rich, flavorful, and best to consume when still hot. Not the best hot chocolate I’ve tasted, but probably will be one on my best list.
Other orders came after few minutes more, which is the explanation why the photo above is awkward. The French toast is wiped out already. Nagkahiyaan pa sila sa isa, para daw may mapang picture pa ko. Ang babait nga naman.
The Arroz Caldo crunch came next. This is very child dish. OH MY GOSH THE PUN PLEASE LAUGH. This is what we gave to our a-year-and-a-half-but-sobrang-kulit cousin who always finds a different kind of happiness when it comes to lugaw. This arroz caldo is well, as we all expect, chicken rice porridge. We asked the staff to separate the crispy adobo flakes which we weren't able to eat because everyone was like "busog na ko".
The Viva Longganisa came, and guess what, the presentation of the rice is #AWZM. The longganisa was sweet and not really difficult to chew (I’m so used to the palengke type of longganisa that I started to hate it when I realized there are a lot of good food, so why do I have to push myself to eat the crappy ones?).
The violet dish came in. LOL, no, it’s not barney. This is. I believe, is a Christmas menu. The putobumbong pancake. I don’t know what happened here but I think tumalon ung lasa ng puto bumbong out of the plate. But the texture was firm, medyo awkward, but cute lang talaga kumain ng purple na pancake. The white side dip is like a pinigang niyog, but it’s creamy. Too much of it causes umay.
The last that came is my order. Hooray. The generous serving of this food made me confuse if I'm hungry or am i full. I mean, two pancake waffles, two potato waffles, and the chicken on its golden perfection just have to sink in my head and in my stomach. The big chicken was well cooked and the crunchy skin is my favorite part. The extremely tasteful potato waffles with a lotta herbs and spices are the thing. Sobrang bigat sa tyan like five servings of the famous and scariest clown in town’s hash brown. The pancake waffles suit the maple syrup. I'm in love with this breakfast set. I felt so American.
But before they ate their breakfast, I was taking a lot of photos, flatlays, snapchat, and a lot more. But yup, I said sorry. I needed ipad air 2. Because until now, I don’t have a new phone. *sending all the hate to the one who has my iphone by this time*. We ate, and ate. And we really found iniquitous goodness in the hot Belgian chocolate that we needed to order another. After waiting for like five minutes from the time we gave a crew a signal that we will order another one… she gave us a red cup. Yes. A red cup. The cup which looks exactly the same from what they served with the hot chocolate. I almost choked when the crew brought an empty red cup because “WHY ATE WHY”. We were rooting for another hot chocolate pero bakit cup lang binigay mo? Sobrang hirap magpigil ng tawa. Sa sobrang excited ko na makainom pa ng hot choco, naudlot pa. But well, it was an overall good service. EXCEPT for the guy. Yes, the guy who avoided our eye contact. Nakakasunog ba kami? Hindi naman ah.
Early bird breakfast club is a great brunch place! But make sure your wallet is full before you want your stomach to be filled with these breakfast heaven. Baka maghugas ka pa ng red cup pagtapos mo uminom ng hot choco.

I accompanied ate Tina on her exam for prometrics for Nursing in Qatar at the Ateneo Building in Makati. After 2 hours of waiting for her, she exited the building with a big smile on her face, means she passed the exam with flying colors. It's a call for celebration.

Being confined in Manila City, I wanted ate Tina to try and explore restos in Makati. We went to Century Mall and decided to eat at HITW. However, the HITW was closed because of a private event si we went around the mall while deciding where to eat and celebrate. We ended up at the back of the mall, where EBBC is located. A bit exhausted and hungry we decided to have our dinner here at EBBC. Early Bird Breakfast for dinner is not bad at all.

The store is small but cute. Not my type of interior but it's ok. The weather at that moment was windy but it's hot inside. The tables are too low to eat. I like the menu, it's fun and creative. I took home mine just for me to finish the crossword puzzle. Lol

I ordered Adobo Sunrise and the serving was big. Nothing special on it but the presentation was great. The meat was tough and I'm expecting a finer shreded cuts adobo. Maybe because I'm expecting something like the adobo flakes of Wooden Spoon.

Ate tina had the Sweet and Spicy Tuyo and it was perfect. There's a lot of tuyo on the plate that we needed to take home the leftover. No need to make "homay" because they already did it for you. Haha

Yin Yang Champorado. It's delicious. Yin is the brown part - it's rich in flavor, so chocolate-y, while the Yang is the white partt - so creamy but not type. The champorado goes well with dilis served on the side.

It was so traffic last Friday that instead of braving Jupiter to get to Powerplant, K and I settled on going to Century City instead. We walked through Hole in the Wall but nothing caught our attention. I think it was mostly because I was still full from lunch and I wasn't craving for anything. But when I mentioned grilled cheese sandwiches, he quickly agreed to dine here.

I ordered my usual grilled cheese sandwich and let him decide what other items to order. He got hash potatoes, a side of bacon (since he remembered I was craving for it), and a side of sausage.

When our orders came, I was really really disappointed. My sandwich looked sloppy. The bacon costs P120, and it was only 2 strips. 2 strips!!! 128548 The sausage didn't taste good either. The potatoes were okay, but a bit too mushy and oily.

I feel ripped off! They have to work on their consistency!

My friend and I only ordered take out as my friend's sister was naglilihi for champorado. So we went ti the place we heard served it best!

Yin yang champorado was notably their goto dish for diners white and chocolate camporado paired with sweet and salty dilis!! It was good! Will have to try it for real along with the dining experience next time!

Early Bird Breakfast Club.

I'm guessing the owner of this breakfast joint is a fan of John Hughes and rocks red locks ala Molly Ringwald.  (I am referring to The Breakfast Club).  I am imagining things really,  maybe the owner likes breakfast food too.  I am still leaning on my John Hughes theory though.  A girl can hope,  after all.

I've been to Early Bird three times and i have plans of coming back.  It would be an understatement if i say that 'Bird serves good food.

When i think of aspragus,  a sudden rush of nostalgia happens.  I am trasported back to a time wherein i was watching Iron Chef America when the Asian dude was revealing the secret ingredient....he does it so well,  i think his eyes wouls pop out of his face anytime.

"Battle Asparagus"

Without further ado,  here is my unadulterated review. 

The branch in Century City is way better that their first branch (Fort Strip).  It is cozier,  a couple of tables inside and outside (for al fresco dining).  The menu is listed on personalized newspaper pages,  smart and innovative. 

I ordered warm asparagus salad and a cup of brewed coffee.  The coffee is nothing special,  the usual cup of brewed coffee you order at other restaurants.  The salad is something else though.  At first glance,  the dish is giving you that "come hither look".   Needless to say that the plating is awesome,  the dish looks appetizing at first glance.  The taste lived well to my high expectations,  the asparagus was cooked perfectly,  crunchy on each bite.  Gordon Ramsay will be proud,  they know how to make poached eggs.

I aint sure if they still have this on their menu.  But do not fret,  they make the meanest grilled cheese sandwich on the planet.

Early Bird's dishes is a bit pricey compared with the other brekkie joints.  If you gave extra dough though,  it is worth a try.

Finally was able to try here! I've been eyeing on their Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Roasted Tomato Soup since then so that's what i got and iced nutella drink. The drink was just okay i was expecting there's whipped cream on top for more creamy flavor but it's just like iced hazelnut-choco drink so plain. The sandwich is so good!128525 The onion relish balance the cheese. It's like creamy cheesy tangy and a bit sweet onion flavor! Love it! Paired with their roasted tomato soup- tasted like bolognese pasta sauce. I was able to taste too their eggs benedict plated in a huge plate and it's delicious too and big serving! Butterbeer was good but not for me128513

Staff were very warm and accommodating. Service was fast. Place has a nice interior- i really love the wall painting so instagramable! 128514 Will come back again to try some other dishes 128522
