Bibingka and Halo-halo for merienda, 2 filipino favorites to feed the Pinoy tummy.
First, Ebun's bibingka is no match to Via Mare's version. The cake itself was too puffy that it didnt absorb the flavor of bibingka cake. Salted eggs are not really salty, wasnt enough to add flavor. I dont think it's a bad choice. But if I were to choose between Via Mare and Ebun? Via mare still wins my heart!
Second and last merienda was Guagua Halo halo that is comparable to Razon's halo halo. They got the right ingredients, especially the ice that is more mashed, easy to scoop in. But if you ask me, Razon's gets the point. Ebun's ingredients are not too sweet and quality isnt fine as to Razon's quality ingredients. Price wise, not too far from each other. So i guess i'd pay for Razon's than Ebun's.

Pray, Eat and Love.

Cheers,
The Food Scout

Our lunch out turned out to be great before my dad went to Bangladesh for some work. We decided to eat in a Filipino restaurant cause my dad won't be able to eat some in about a week of stay in Bangladesh. It's my first time to eat puto bumbong and its good! They also serve the best lechong paksiw :-) FTW! Their kare kare is a so so.....I didn't really like it case it's full of veggies only :( but the bagoong is yum yum!

Had an early dinner with my dad. Place was sort of deserted, interior was quite nice though it wasn't cold enough. They make do with fans :) they provided nuts and shredded kamote strips while you wait for your food.

We had bulalo and inihaw na bangus. The serving was good for 2-3 person. The bulalo lack that kick in its soup, however the meat was very tender and the veggies were cooked with the right crunch. So i had to ask for some calamansi and "patis" :( The bangus came in late, smothered with enough tomatoes and onions that you can't see the fish. Tasted good with the sauce though.

Service was good. Staff was friendly. They said the bulalo was their bestseller but i wasn't sold. Maybe next time.

Apart from the minimalist yellow accent wall, Ebun's Bulalong Baka with Mais is the best thing about this kapampangan resto. Yes, the rich peppery soup and the perfect slices of tender beef with generous slices of cabbage and corn makes this dish the perfect comfort food for that i-miss-home moments. Their Bulalo might be on the expensive side at PHP 400 but I think its good for a group of 3-4. I also like the staff's black barong uniform and the nice chandeliers, both add to the entire classy feel of the resto.
