Make this a to-go place when in Cabanatuan and don't forget to get a box of cheese roll for P160 a dozen because you can never stop at just eating one. You must also see their collection or rather selection of cakes on display and please get some tissue for drooling.
They also have breakfast/snack menu. They had tapsilog, liemposilog (which looked like crispy bacon) and also some pasta to choose from which I got lasagna and iced coffee, very refreshing nakakagising sa tulog mong isip. They used brewed coffee which my dad like for his cup of coffee mom got hot choco.

Overall I love this place and I can't wait to get back and have another box of cheese roll and I heard yema roll is also a hit so I really NEED to come back.

What's a visit to Cabanatuan without going to Edna's? Dull and boring.
Saw all kinds of decorative and specialty cakes, ensaymada and cheese rolls, yema roll and a lot more goodies and that awesome prune cake.

Cakes everywhere! 128576128576128576

We took a quick stopover after watching Salibatbat in the nearby town. Luckily, this was near my cousin's house.

Upon entering, you will be thrilled with the different designs of their cakes. 128525 So many pastries, so many cakes, and sweets, and calories. 128517

We bought a box full of brownies for our Lola and a jar of hope (lol, it's a jar of chocolate chip cookies) 128525

They have dining area and I saw that they have snacks for merienda too. 128077

Cake land literally stand its name out.

From Ifugao we passed by Cabanatuan so just to experience one of it's pride. You wouldn't think of finding a wonderland like this inside a plain white high wall of a not so busy street. We missed the sign because of the cars parked blocking it, so it's a clue, check for the white wall with a lot of cars parked.

As I've said, my first on the place and I was speechless. I was like a kid so thrilled and shocked that a place like this exist. Yah, its an over reaction but tell me what's your feeling on your first trip here, cause mine had a very very very big smile on my face. 128513128513128513

We weren't targeting the cakes for this trip but the sylvannas and other finds. I've had the latter tried before because one of my friends used to give me at work and it was something to remember and to ask again, haha. Melts in your mouth with the nuttiness from the meringue, its 110 for 12pcs and its placed in a good to go plastic container. They also have this square goodies that I got two of each to complete a box, 12pcs all in all for 400. Considering how big and thick portions they are and the taste, it's all worth the money! I haven't seen their names but I think one is revel bar, mango cashew bar, brownies with a super generous cashew sprinkles, another type of brownies, brownies topped with candied coconut and another brownies with this cute mallows on top, all of them were love. Because of its thick portion it looked like a slice of cake, looked airy, but when you bite to it, it has the consistency of a real moist and chewy square dessert.

I hope they'd put up a branch here in manila. Am sure it'll trend!

One of the side benefits of out-of-town photo shoots is that you get to taste the local dishes and delicacies of the venue of the shoot. Arriving early in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija for our sunset shoot, we decided to invade the home of one of our landscape photography buddies who lives in the city. He served us with ice cold beverages to quench our thirst on this hot Saturday afternoon as well as baked goodies from the renowned bakeshop in the city called Edna's Cakeland. We immediately devoured the entire box of cheese rolls, ensaymadas, and siopao. After some animated stories and jokes and after eating almost two boxes of Cakeland baked goodies, we left our buddy's home to proceed to our shoot location. Prior to leaving the city, however, we all agreed to make a stopover at Cakeland to buy more baked goodies for pasalubong (knowing that the shop will be closed by the time we get back to the city after the shoot). It was going to be my second time to Cakeland so I readily agreed to the unscheduled stopover.

Edna's Cakeland is located in a high end residential subdivision of Cabanatuan (judging by the height of the perimeter walls and the size of the houses). There was no sign outside, but you'll know that you've reached Cakeland upon seeing the long line of cars parked outside. You enter through a metal door/gate common to residences in gated villages. Once inside the house-cum-bakeshop you immediately smell the sweet scent of cakes and pastries. Our host quickly informed us that everything in Cakeland tastes good (he advised us: "lahat masarap!"). After browsing through the display shelves, I ordered two boxes of cheese roll and a jar of choco chip mini-cookies.

The cheese roll is a small pastry bread the size of a Twinkie with a slice of cheddar cheese in the middle. The bread is very soft and moist with cheese, butter, and sugar on top. It is like a mini-ensaymada with cheese inside. It was definitely worth the delay to our scheduled shoot which caused us to miss the first few minutes of the Golden Show.

The next time I'm in Cabanatuan, I'll surely stop at Cakeland again and try the other baked goodies. I noted that they also serve other usual merienda fares like empanadas and pastas.

Papa came home with a cute box of colorful pastries 128522 This is a Christmas gift and it's pretty because the packaging is really presentable, with gold and blue ribbons. Inside are different pastries wrapped in colorful plastics 12815610084128154128149

Pastries inside:
Food for the gods
Macaroon cupcake
Polvoron
and 2 more

Not only are they pleasant in the eyes, but they are also delicious! Perfect Christmas giveaway 128522

I don't know how to get a box though cause it's in Cabanatuan. It's too far. Maybe they sell online.

Yay for suggesting this for looloo's database and for being the first reviewer. Happy dance 128518

This place is definitely cakeland. Once inside you get the whiff of baked goodies and cakes that definitely lures you to stay. This is said to be one of the gems of cabanatuan. 127775

Got the lasagna, chicken mashed potato and bola bola sipao. Extra points for all of these all under the price of 100 pesos 128077128077 Such a steal!

The lasagna was very filling not too flavorful but sulit na for the pricetag!

The chicken mashed potato was better tho. Kind of like a pie with green peas, chicken strips and mashed potato as a top layer.

Siopao.. I hardly eat siopao because I dont eat egg. Surprise surprise 128514 Surprisingly 4 pieces of siopao for 70 pesos was bola bola. It was really flavorful and I even took some home for pasalubong.

We shared the red velvet cupcake but I didnt like it since the icing was more cream cheese than icing. No balance between the two.

But they offer so much baked goodies and cakes I shoud definitely come back to taste them! 128151
