Diet ba kamo? Kalimutan na muna yan ngayong weekend! Haha 128514

Verdict Time! (Sipag ko today! May himala pa din!)

128078 The Location

Honestly, nahirapan akong hanapin sila. Parang nung panahong nahirapan akong hanapin sarili ko. Naligaw, nagtanong, naligaw muli ..

128077 The Crew

And friendly sila. Hihi. *gullible*

128077 The Food

Moment of truth!

I ordered Eggettes Sundae in Brownie Ala Mode, large, for 165php. And it was heavenly amazing! 9925

The texture was unique - crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside! (Uy, English)

And the vanilla ice cream? Di natutunaw agad! 127846

Nakaka inlove! Tapos may paandar pang caramel drizzle? Ayayay. 127776

They have a variety of flavors to choose from! Di ka mauubusan ng choices. Basta yung large, 165php.

Haha! Tamang pang tanggal lang din ng stress. ✔

Tried Eggettes & Co. here in Greenbelt 1. They are right below the escalator, in front of Via Mare. Ordered the Cheese Whole Egg Waffle with cream cheese. They had ready made ones on display so my order was not hot. The edges were still crisp and the cream cheese was surprisingly generous. It was soft to the bite and you can taste the cheese in the egg waffle not only the cream cheese add on. Total bill was 90pesos. Staff was friendly. Service time acceptable.

An egg waffle is a spherical egg-based waffle popular in Hong Kong and Macau. It is made of an eggy leavened batter cooked between two plates of semi-spherical cells. It is referred to by its original Cantonese name, gai daan jai and in English, an egg puff, bubble waffle, eggette, pancake balls, pancake waffle, egglet, and puffle. They are sometimes referred to as Hong Kong cakes in Chinatowns across America, especially in New York

Now that we got that out of the way...lemme add some more (har-har).

Did you know that the origins of the egg waffle is unknown? According to the wonderful people of Wiki, One story says the enterprising post-war generation created the egg-shaped mold to make up for an eggless batter, as eggs used to be a luxury. Another tale points to street hawkers who bought damaged eggs on the cheap to work them into a batter, resulting in the classic golden color of the cake. It also is reasonable to suggest that the special iron skillet used to mold the gai daan tsai is a Hong Kong take on the traditional checkered European waffle press

There a new egg waffle player in town, y’all… A quaint stall situated at the ground floor of Greenbelt 1 reeks of waffle goodness! I present to you….Eggettes & Co 128512

I am not really a waffle person but for some reason I dig the Asian version. I guess this has something to do with its appearance – think edible bubble wrap. Anyway, I went out on a limb and braced the bipolar weather last Sunday to get some egg waffles. Trust me when I say that I smells so good…

I got the Cheesy Ube Variant. Golden brown waffle folded, placed in a cup, topped with Ube Ice cream, sprinkled with grated cheese and rice crispies. The waffle is the star of the show! I love the crispy edges and soft texture. Add the ube ice cream x cheese concoction and we have a bloody winner. The wonderful mixture of sweet x cheesy goes well with the waffle. Gah! It is so addicting.

I already planning my next visit as of this writing.

Peace Out!

Eggettes and Co. had me going back when I first tried their Premium Creme Cheese (P80). Creme Cheese was really good and matches the creamy, milky soft waffle that's unique to Eggettes and Co.

I also tried their plain eggettes (P55) and it was really good kahit plain. It's also heavy on the tummy. 128540

I do recommend they upgrade their packaging. A simple paper cone would be great, rather than the brown bag that they are using for the sandwiches. 128077
