Got a voucher from Metrodeal for 500php for 5 sesh so why not? It's near my place so I went last Monday.

Place was big, but filthy. You can see shoes under the boxing ring. 128557 I was the only one training 128170 that afternoon maybe because it was raining. Other trainers were taking a nap on the boxing ring. 128563

The other star is for my nice trainer and the ate in the front desk for letting me train even if I didn't print the voucher.

I was on a fitness craze last year that I tried several workouts just so I could have a beach ready body; which of course did not happen as my desire to be fit dwindled down after a couple of months. I remember reading about Judy Ann Santos’ fitness secrets and one was boxing. (Do not judge. I used to work for a magazine company and she really became fit after several boxing sessions for a movie with Piolo Pascual.) Since an Elorde Studio opened in Kapitolyo, I figured that it must be a sign for me to try it out. So I called the boxing studio and reserved a slot for me and one of my officemates who was also interested in getting fit.

Hello, Elorde!

The studio only had one student when we arrived around 6:30 p.m.. After signing up, we changed to our workout clothes and we were assigned an instructor each.

We did a few warm ups before we were taught how to punch. Uppercut, right hook, left hook, dodge! *Pow, pow, kapooow*

After the basics, we were asked to practice on the punching bags and punching balls. (I absolutely hate the punching balls as I just could not get the punching rhythm. I always end up punching like a kitten playing with a ball of yarn.)

It took one more session before I got to do sparring. And it was a lot of fun! Well, sort of.

While sparring, my instructor (who stinks big time) annoyed the hell out of me. He would make all these annoying alien sounds and make face at the same time. Though quick on his toes, he underestimated the length of my arms as I managed to land a few punches. *pats myself*

The session ended with some stretching. The mats were so disgusting. It was wet (probably from sweat) and super duper stinky! I turned down the instructor's offer to help me stretch. The smell would be unbearable if he helped me out. 128567

All those footwork and dodging sure tired me out and I felt that I burned a lot of calories in those few sessions I attended. (I pigged out after. There’s a grace period of one hour right? 128513)

It has been a year since my last session. Maybe it’s time to go back for more.
