Emerald boutique hotel is located in the heart of the city of Albay. It is within walking distance of supermarkets, restaurants, and fast food joints. Well-lighted and welcoming, this was a contrast to the dark streets & houses with no electricity that you can see in the rest of the city.

It is a good example of a boutique hotel-- great bed with great sheets, TV, complete toiletries and A/C. Rainshower in the bathroom. Everything you need and nothing less. As expected, the room was small and sparse, but comfortable. The TV and wifi were also affected because of the typhoon (same sa Sorsogon). Not the hotel's fault. The only working TV was at the lobby, so you can see why people chose to hang out there.

Food was simple; ala carte breakfast is included with the room. You have to choose between longganisa, tapa, tocino, or danggit. The restaurant looked more like a cafeteria, but they were always ready to serve cold beer and soda... Kropek available as pulutan...

Overall, I thought it wasn't bad for a P2500/night stay... Staff were very, very nice and easy to talk to. But, they were really slow in cleaning rooms. As usual, windang sa dami namin at sa demands namin. We occupied 10 rooms-- two of us were given rooms at 7pm already. We got there before 5pm. They have to work on that... We just "requested" to stay until 5pm for three of the rooms so we could freshen up prior to our flight that evening.

From what I saw, parking is a problem. Unless they have a designated parking area that I didn't notice. Pic is of the newly constructed restaurant foyer...
