I only go here for the Emerald special siopao and the ham suy kok. Opens as early as 6:30am the siopao is big humongous in size and filling is overflowing (asado pork, chicken, chinese longanisa, ground pork and salted egg). Other siopaos come second for me. Tip: you should eat the siopao here while its hot.

Sorry no pictures. Was so hungry. Good thing Food arrived quickly, as usual.

I'll always remember this place since I 1st ate here which was almost 25yrs. Ago

Fast service, great food, big portions, value for money.

Was surprised that their usual space became smaller now. No more 2nd floors. Guess business is not as it used to be or their rent went ridiculously up.

I will always have fond memories of Emerald Garden -- from breakfast congee dates with my angkong to birthday parties with relatives. Matter of fact, I actually celebrated my first birthday/baptism reception here. :) So this place really is an all-time favorite for my family.

We ordered our usuals -- EG chicken, noodles, taro puff, taro pie (photo) and siopao. :) Everything was still as great as before but pricier than most Chinese restaurants around the area. You can also try their bicho-bicho, egg tarts and chicken pie but if you want to splurge more, their buddha soup is definitely a winner!128522

Celebrated my brother's birthday here last May 30 with my mom. 10084️ my mom and brother ordered too much for the three of us so most of our food were taken home. My mom also bought 4 large siopaos for my uncles.

My favorite food were the crab and corn soup, lechon kawali, fried dumplings and their spare ribs.

Their crab and corn soup made us felt already full. Me and my mom doesn't want to eat the main dishes. Hahahaha

The Lechon Kawali was crispy and delicious!

The Fried dumplings were of course, amazing! This is better than their steamed one. Dip it with their special soy sauce hehe.

The spare ribs were my favorite dish because it's tender and not too oily. 128077🏻

The fried rice was just alright.

The place was clean and simple and elegant. The staff were friendly maybe because some of the staff there are Bicolanos like my mom.

We also ordered mango shake 2 times. Hehehe.

Just a bit expensive, the crab and corn soup, fried rice, lechon kawali, pancit, spare ribs and fried dumplings together with the mango shakes cost us almost 2,500. But of course, no regrets. 10084128077🏻

THE BEST HK EGG TARTS AROUND - Totally biased review because I have long been searching for authentic Hong Kong style egg tarts with the signature crumble crust and perfectly smooth light egg custard filling...

And no! Heavy, baked Portuguese egg tarts with slightly burned tops DO NOT COUNT for this egg tart addict!

What a surprise when I saw a tray full of them when I walked into Emerald Garden by chance! When I bit into it I knew the search was over!

The catch? These hidden gems are only available at breakfast so get out of bed early if you want a bite!

I love that I discovered a gem in such an old, almost-forgotten favorite like Emerald Garden... But goes to show that sometimes it's the oldies that really know how it should be done right!

My balikbayan friend was checked in at Manila hotel so I was clueless on where to bring her for dinner. Good thing her sis in law suggested emerald garden, it was amazing!
I've been seeing emerald garden for a long time now but we've never tried it. Interiors are a bit old but I guess that adds to the charm. We ordered yangchow fried rice, camaron rebosado, beef with broccoli, salt and pepper ribs, fried chicken and quail egg soup. Everything arrived in less than ten mins! Four seasons shake was also good! Could've eaten more Pero ung mga kasama namin stopped eating na, nakakahiya haha!
2500 for all of that!

Back in the 80s and 90s this place was the bomb. All Chinese weddings are celebrated here. And all our grandparents bdays are celebrated here as well. Fastforward to 2014, you could just count the tables having dinner here. It's not completely a sad place, there were atleast 20 tables occupied, but there are probably a hundred tables here. I think it's because there are a lot of establishments around the area and this place badly needs a more updated look. But this place is a survivor because I'm sure, and we are told by our waiter that breakfast and lunch are still fullhouse. (Probably the reason why the owners refuse to renovate, nanghihinayang sa benta during daytime).
I really hope the owners try their best to revive this place back to it's glory days before it becomes a long forgotten place.

Ham Suy Kok is one of the best eats at the Emerald Garden. Best to consume this here just like the famous Emerald special siopao. If this ain't possible steam your siopao again or pop the Ham Suy Kok in the oven to bring back its crunch. 128522

Mommy always has pasalubong for me every time she comes home from work. One night she bought me this.

STEAMED MALAY CAKE

This thing is so yummy! It is really soft and tasty and delicious and sweet and <insert adjectives that describe good food>. Its sweetness is not that overwhelming to the tastebuds and its mysterious flavor makes you want to take more bites to find out the magical thing that makes this pastry a bomb. I highly recommend this go everyone!

It's been such a long time since my family last dined here. Food is pretty good, though we've had better. Staff were accommodating and the quality of the food was alright. Out of everything we ordered (usuals: sweet & sour pork, beef with broccoli, dimsum, fish fillet something, soup), the suahe was my fave part. Look at how plump and pinkish they are (refer to the photo) 128525 fresh; yum!

My mom went home with these fried & steamed dumplings for dinner and I so love it!! But if you will ask what I prefer more, it would be the fried one. 128077 speechless for these. 9786️ aside from their special super laking siopao, try their Crispy Pata and spareribs (forgot the exact name). They're really worth of every calorie! 128514 affordable pa!!

My mom paid 310 pesos for these dumplings. 9786128077

Those foods is not used to taste 20 years so ago, but the service is still great, servings are big, priced reasonably.
Really missed the original taste of their Yang Chow fried rice. But their Taro Cake still winner!!!

Another backlog review 128522

After my lolo's 9th day mass, my balikbayan relatives asked if we can eat at Emerald Garden for lunch. I think this resto was popular during the time they were still here that's why they remember it. We were 20 pax so we had to wait while the staff arranged a table for us. My aunts picked what to order so I can barely remember all of them. I'll just have to review what I can recall... 128540

🔸 Emerald Special siopao- I've heard raves about this and I was excited to try it. But meh, I found it overrated. I prefer a simple asado or bola-bola siopao.

🔸 Chicken BBQ- ok lang. Nothing special.

🔸 Hakaw and Pork Siomai- it wasn't hot when they served it. 128528

🔸 Fish fillet with Tofu- one of the dishes that I liked!

🔸 Mixed veggies with mushrooms- good! I love mushrooms. 128076

I wasn't that happy with the food. Even my relatives were disappointed. Service was slow and staff were inattentive. It's so hard to call their attention. Kulang nalang ikaw lumapit sa kanila when you need something. 128527
