Its a restaurant-slash-market place where you can buy your food and have it cooked, or take home. Chilled goods like bacon, sausage and ham are available, as well as marinated chicken or fish. For fillers, the have pre cooked pasta and salads. Beverage choices inlude Charlie and Phoenix New Zealand juices. Cold cuts, cheese (!!) and wine are also available if you're planning to have a wine night. They also serve coffee and cakes if you're visiting during dessert or miryenda time. Bottled pasta sauces and salad dressings are also sold here, as well as kitchen utensils and other household knick knacks. Oo, ang dami! I guess in that way, the restaurant lives up to its name-- gets you curious that you'd want to look around instead of just waiting in your seat for your order.

Double Smoked Bacon - who doesn't like BAEcon.

Hungarian sausage - juicy and tasty, but it had an aftertaste. Or maybe that's just me cause my boyfriend disagrees 128540

Lemon Basil Cobbler - didn't taste either the lemon or the basil. Skip this one.

White Truffle Mac and Cheese - no. I guess the quality was affected by the fact that the pasta was precooked and just reheated-- it was too dry for me.

Capuccino and Iced Latte - they use Di Bella Coffee. 128077

Grumpy tummies. I was with two ladies with grumpy tummies. Yes, I'm talking about my mom's and sister's. They insisted that we eat somewhere we've been before but I was persistent that we try something different. The problem though is that I have been to most restaurants in Shangri-La and we're running out of options until I saw... Epicurious Manila!

At first, I thought Epicuious Manila was just a deli shop. Okay, it is a deli shop and a restaurant in one but I was confused with how to order as I didn't see the sign right away. And when I did, I was looking where I could get order slips.

Apparently, all you have to do is approach one of the crew members and tell them what you want from the chillers. They could also cook the meat and fish for you if you want though it will be served as is so you need to add a bit more for side dishes.

Now that we somehow get it, we finally got to order, the deli shop way. I asked for the following: Australian Pasta Salad (PHP250), Mac 'N Cheese (PHP250), Mushroom Soup (I forgot to note the price), Marble Potato Salad (PHP160), Salmon with Mashed Potato on the side (starting price was PHP380) and we also ordered two bottles of Phoenix New Zealand organic drinks--Apple Pear and Apple Pomegranate (PHP120 each).

This place was supposed to be self-service but I guess our Bambi eyes convinced the servers that we were very confused customers so they served everything to us.

The Potato Balls were yummy! It was boiled just right and I love the tangy taste of the dressing.

The Cream of Mushroom was super salty! It was indeed creamy but we all wished that they added a bit more water to lessen the saltiness. Sadly, this one is no different from a can of Campbell soup.

The Mac 'N Cheese tasted weird too. It was too salty as well and the pasta seemed a bit hard. I guess the saltiness was because of the cheese. I just hope that the cheese was slightly melted and the type that stretches when you get a spoonful.

The Australian Pasta Salad was pretty good. Though it's just like your macaroni salad. Nonetheless, it was filling as the serving was pretty generous.

I enjoyed the pan-fried salmon though. Then again, I really love salmon so I could be biased. It was slightly overcooked but it's okay. The mashed potato though was bland so this time around, we had to ask for salt and pepper to add taste.

We had a few leftover after the meal and called the waiter that we'd like to have it wrapped and he said, "Okay" and left. Ten minutes later, we realized that we have to go back to the center of the shop and bring our food there so that they could wrap it for us. He should have just said so.

Overall, it was a very interesting experience. We also bought a few pastry products to take home. I read that the steaks were the best ones there so I think I have to go back again to try it. :)

The place is classy with a unique concept. Its like the sophisticated version of Dampa. You buy food on display and have it cooked. The truffle mac and cheese was so so. I didnt taste the truffles. The bratwurst was also average. The grilled salmon was good. The skin had a good crunch and fish soft and fresh. I also enjoyed the baby back ribs. It was juicy, tender and flavorful to the bones. The sauce was just right not too sweet. The price was just and you could dine in style.

Went here to catch up with my main girls during dinner. The place is actually quiet cool. If you're a first time-comer here, you'll get really curious on how to order your food. They have different sections for different kinds of food. It looks like a bit of a grocery store but in a different style haha!

When we ordered, we chose from their selection of raw meats then they turned it over to the cashier. There's a cooking charge of i think 5% (with that, im not really sure i forgot). So we payed for our food and waited until they finished cooking it. We ordered Kansas Pork Belly and Artisan Lasagna (which tasted great, really. 128077🏼) i also forgot the other food we ordered but all in all its delicious.

For the service, i'm satisfied and have no complains about it. 128077🏼 In fact, we were seated beside the liquor section, and the barista there was approachable and friendly. He also told us that there are no rules or donts and that we are free to do whatever we want because we asked him if we were allowed to play monopoly deal 128517

Great place to hang out + only few dines in here so it's peaceful and not crowded 128522

Who would not love this colorful cake? This Clown cake from Epicurious is worth a try.

You'll get a very generous slice that is equivalent to two for only 150 pesos. This not-too-sweet-cake is best enjoyed with a cup of coffee. It actually tastes like "kababayan", if you're familiar with that. 128523128523128523

Our 3rd Stop – Shangri-La Mall

This place is a little piece of heaven for my foodie friends. They have a lot of goodies –biscuits, organic fruits and vegetables, marinated or seasoned raw meats, wines, chocolates, cakes, coffees and many more. Just don’t let your curiosity kill you.

I loved the idea of buy raw ingredients and CCA chef will cook it for you for FREE. I tried their Aussie beef and cobbler lemon basil and all were good. You can also request everything - I bought 350 grams of Aussie beef and asked them to split it into two. My medium well steak was a bit tough and chewy yet surprisingly good.

I was just a bit disappointed with their service. I ordered cream of mushroom soup and I just remembered it when I was almost halfway done with my food. I called the server to inform him that they haven’t served my soup yet and he asked for my receipt just to make sure that I ordered it.

After our dinner, I ordered Café latte and clown cake. I saw the barista not doing my order since they were busy chatting. I had to call the manager and remind her that I ordered coffee and if they can serve it right away since I’m almost done with my clown cake too. I am taking back 1 star because of this.

Good food, good place, but not so good service.

An upscale Dampa... The food were generally pan seared, and they were okay.

The place is so homey. It's like a small deli where you can buy fresh/raw meat and they can cook for you. They do have service charge. I had the fried salmon for about P325+ and they served it with butter sauce and a few veggies. You can have it with rice if you like. They serve coffee as well.

Healthy and yummy dishes to choose at affordable prices. They have breads, salad, & pasta, and want some fish? Lamb? Steak? And cooking is free. Not to mention wide selection of healthy beverages, beers, and of course ther's coffee. This place is some kinda hidden, and lots of space. Enjoyed my dinner and chitchat last weekend. A must try place.

Lunch express was overpriced for the amount of meat included. The Thai chicken was barely the size of 2 matchboxes. The fish was dry.

Didn't appreciate the condescension from the girl in the CCA uniform either. She acted like I was a nuisance by asking her questions in an otherwise EMPTY store. Like she had something else to do.

The only saving grace was the big kuya in black who was attentive all through out and made my Americano. Please give him a raise.

My 2nd time here. Had dinner with friends. I ordered their: Lasagna Carbonara - it was okay, and quite filling. Although I wished it were more cheesy. My friends ordered their Chicken (forgot) and Salmon (forgot too), they were both happy with their orders.

For dessert, we had the Clown Cake. As you can see, it was visually appealing. Taste wise it was okay, it was moist and not too sweet.

Want to try something new and different? Epicurious is the place for you. Its cozy vibe is perfect for those who are sick and tired of staying for hours in a Starbucks shop just to have a small talk, do a presentation, etc. True, it can be quite pricey there but considering the location, quality food, and great place they have, I think it's worth the try. Their clown cake is something you wouldn't want to miss. It's not too sweet and not bland-tasting at all. So, if you find yourself around Ortigas, why not drop by Epicurious to see what I'm blabbing about.

Shop for your food, wait 'til they cook it and devour. 128539

This place has got almost all your food needs from vegetables to bread to wine and kitchenware! It's basically an indoor food market with tables and chairs for you to eat on.

When you enter, you shop for your food which you can have on-the-go or for dine-in. In our case, we preffered to have it cooked. I think you can request as to how you want your food to be cooked but what we did was that we left it all to the chefs. Bahala na! 128514 it's fun to be adventurous with your food once in a while.

The chefs and cooks are students from CCA so we kinda trusted them with our food since the food at Cravings and C2, two of CCA's restaurants, taste really good.

And we were right to trust them! The food was amazing. Everything was so tender and flavorful that we even planned for another visit there soon 128514 I apologize for I have forgotten the names of what we ordered but I highly recommend that you try their lasagna. It's cheese heaven. 128525128557

I'm loving Epicurious's Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake and I'm liking their Clown Cake.

The Salted Caramel Cake wasn't overly sweet. The huge serving of dense chocolate cake , layered and frosted with light cream and drizzled with a buttery-sweet-salty caramel sauce.

The Clown Cake was their take on the Rainbow Cake. A huge serving of colored layers of dense cake. Frosted with a creamy marshmallow like frosting. I guess I'm more partial to Rainbow cakes frosted with good tangy-sweet cream cheese frosting which helps in balancing off the richness and sweetness of the pastry. IMHO, the Rainbow Cakes of Zoricho, Brida Bistro, and Cake Shack are more to my loving.

Salmon for lunch. Nothing fancy about this dish. The only cool thing about it is you get to choose which meat and/or fish you want them to cook for you. (Not healthful because it' ain't fresh) Your choice of mashed potato or rice. :)

This place is also known for selling organic fruits and veggies but considering the location, delivery of goods, travel time and etc., I don't recommend you to buy it here.

Anyway, the cake in the jar will still be my fave thing about this place. And their wine selections. :)

Your very curious woman,
Princess

No ifs and buts, I went straight to the cake section and ordered a slice of their famous clown cake. It was a right decision because at P115 per slice, the size is good for 2. Plus, the cake is perfect for me because it wasn't that sweet. It is also topped with crunchy sugary substance like icing or something.

Who wouldn't like a salted caramel cake? Oh, come on! Make sure to try this.

This one is so good. I could finish it in one sitting but I didn't. :) well, for me, it's not that sweet. :) kids would love this. Also the young at heart. :)

Will try the rainbow colored cake next visit.

The cool thing about this cake in a jar — is the jar. You can reuse it. Maybe you'd find an inspiration to make your own cake in a jar.

Until my next food discovery.

Your fellow food traveller,
Princess

Enjoyed the place with a variety of choices but i find it too expensive! This is like Santis' but more of a resto-grocery...that's why it's not as cheap!

Bought Hungarian sausage and Chorizo iberico for 450 pesos! Saw their incredible food and drink selections that you won't usually see elsewhere..
Just as we were paying that the staff offered us if we want it cooked (for free!) and eat it there...tsk tsk!

Nobody told us eh!?! We just heard a staff explaining to a customer who just got in that you can choose, buy and have them cook it for you...
Duh, choosy kayo ha, you should have told us earlier too...so that we could have bought cheese and bread etc....Boo!
