Syo ang 128081 Famry!

Soooo I recently tried DTFs version, and I can say, Famry’s is way better. This has more filling and the sauce was spicier delicious.

Tried the rice bowl for the first time. Since nag-agawan kami, not sure how I feel about this. Di ko masyado nalasahanis. . But dumplings are a winner!

Thanks to Peanut D (mishu) and | for the treat! Kahit Wala ng treat, basta nandito ka 100841008410084

There have been 2 looloo events in the past 7 months, both held at Hole in the Wall and both times, I've tried the food from Famry. Until now I don't know the exact names of the dishes but for sure, their dumplings are the best.

We tried their dishes when we had the Grand looloo Eat-up and Peanut D's Despedida party! Thanks P for the treat! ♥️

I usually don't like the the spices of chinese taste, but these ones were so good. Actually, Famry offers Taiwanese cuisines. We tried the following:

▫️Bunplings A.K.A. Shenjianbao 11088110881108811088
"A cross between xiao long bao and bao. Pan-fried dumplings with a pork and soup filing."

▫️Spicy Dumplings 1108811088110881108811088
"Handmade pork dumplings steamed and served with tangy sweet sauce and topped with silantro leaves."

▫️Minced Pork Rice 11088110881108811088
"Fragrant, slow-braised pork served with hot steaming rice."

▫️Jianbing 1108811088110881108811088
"Street food done Famry-style. Crispy egg pancake stuffed with soy & five-spice pulled roast pork."

Everything was suprisingly good though we only tried small portions of them. I would definitely be back and order my own meal! Since I loved spicy food, my five stars would be for the Spicy Dumplings. ♥️

Still can't get over the Looloo eat up/Peanut's despedida last week. 128553
The food was good and I had really fun. Couldn't be grateful enough for that amazing night. I'm too honored to be part of that event. Thank you so much! Roegan T
I loved the Xiao Long Bao and the dimsum with spicy sauce...but the rice bowl is surprisingly delicious, I liked it. 128525

I vow to come back to Famry very soon! I wasn't able to taste them all (except one) during the Grand |looloo Eat-Up last Thursday. 🙁

When dishes from Bad Bird arrived, I became too busy taking pictures of them. When I came back, the dumplings were gone. 128514 Yung natira na lang ung rice bowl, so yan na lang ung natikman ko. OK naman siya, it just had to be mixed so that I could get (and appreciate) the flavors. I thought the meat was beef. When I looked at the menu I found out that Famry only had two rice bowl dishes: pork and duck. I thought it might be duck because duck has red meat like beef.

Since I like spicy stuff, I'm eager to come back for the spicy dumplings.

An eat up sponsored by looloo so I don't know the name of these dishes from Famry but they're all classified as dumplings.

The one is like a shen jian bao a variant of xiao long bao while the other set of dumplings are made up of pork drenched in salty and tangy sauce.

Impressive flavors ,worth returning to try their other offerings.

Famry is one of the newer stalls at Hole in the Wall, so it's my first time here. I am a fan of Xiao Long Bao (XLB), so I wanted to try their Bunplings, which is their take on XLB--- think toasted siopao, but using the distinct taste of XLB pork and the soupy broth inside. Ang sarap! I found the buns well-made. It's not as thin as a dumpling wrapper, but not thick like siopao too! And the toasted bottom added a crunchy texture to the offering. Beware though, it's not small enough to eat in a single bite, so you may need to slurp the soup out before cutting it in half or taking a bite out of it. It can be quite messy, especially if you are a first-timer and you eat with chopsticks, like me.

For a light lunch, one order of bunplings is enough for a person, but I was worried it would be too light, so I also got a solo order of their minced pork rice. I usually don't like ground pork, but their minced pork is actually chopped braised pork! I'll be honest, at first bite of the minced pork, it immediately reminded me of Hanamaruken's Signature Ramen! Hahaha, i fell in love with this dish immediately! The sweet-salty flavor from the braised pork beautifully complemented the salty-tang flavor of the bunplings! It was served with just the right amount of sauce atop the rice too.

Price : 5 stars (expected price point for location and food offerings)
Flavor : 5 stars
Speed : 4 stars (wasn't really paying attention to time, but it felt long, considering I waited in line for drinks before settling down to sit and i was able to watch a few mini-vids while waiting)

We wanted to spend our Ha|loolooween money wisely and we decided to combine our money to try more than one booth here In HITW.

We got a few plates from here I and personally really liked it! The dumplings were so huge and meaty. I especially liked the spicy ones.

We are back at Hole in the Wall to try out the dishes of Famry. They gave a new delicious twist to Chinese cuisine favorites.

Here are Famry's dishes:
Jianbing. Street food done Famry-style. Crispy egg pancake stuffed with soy & five-spice pulled roast pork. This is sating and also a good on-the-go food. Tastes good, too.

Spicy Dumplings. Handmade pork dumplings steamed and served with a tangy, sweet sauce. Topped with cilantro. It's like the typical dumpling; the sauce makes it special.

Bunplings. a.k.a. shenjianbao, a cross between a xiaolongbao and a bao. Pan-fried dumplings with a pork and soup filling. I love both types of baos, and this hybrid is definitely a winning innovation. Too bad I had to share this with my friends; I would have had this all for myself. lol.

Minced Pork Rice with Soy Egg. Fragrant, slow-braised pork served over steaming hot rice. This one is good, tasty, and non-spicy, but for their rice meals, I prefer the crispy duck rice.

Crispy Duck Rice with Soy Egg. Pan-fried duck on steaming hot rice. Served with crispy duck skin. The duck skin is a must-try (specially if you like crispy chicken skin or lechon skin)! This dish is spicy and the duck is well-seasoned and good. I love this dish.

Famry is the newest addition to the line up of restaurants at Hole in the Wall. This restaurant offers only 6 items on the menu including drinks, but not really dishes that are too generic.
When I first saw a post about Famry, I was curious about trying their bunplings. But when I went to browse their menu, my eyes grew big for their crispy duck rice. So, I ordered both!

|Crispy Duck Rice P390 (Add P50 for soy egg)
Pan-fried, chopped duck pieces on a rice bowl, served with pickles and crispy duck skin. This rice bowl reminded me of a Filipino breakfast dish, except that the duck meat had a different texture that made it more enjoyable. I loved this dish.

|Bunplings P220
A combination of the famous Taiwanese xiao long bao and bao, each pan-fried bunpling (also called the shenjianbao) is filled with pork and soup. If you've been to Binondo and have tried their famous Shanghai fried siopao, then this might look familiar on the inside, although the bun is quite different. I wasn't satisfied with how the bunplings tasted. I'll still easily choose xiao long bao over it.

I'll definitely come back for another bite of their crispy duck rice, and perhaps a taste of their minced pork rice bowl. And the best part is that I made my boyfriend try this and now he's got a new favorite dish at Hole in the Wall.

Looking for asian-y rice meals? Famry's got you, fam! 128514

During one of my recent visits to HITW, decided to check out one of the newest places there! The food reminded me of Taiwanese fare. I got the:

128055 Bunpling (220 PHP) - six pieces of fried buns with soup inside (allegedly) hahaha. I had half of them and didn't get one filled with soup, which was kind of sad. Although it was quite hefty and the filling was flavorful.

127834 Regular-sized Minced Pork Rice (140 PHP) - good for one. The pork juices seeped into the rice below and the result is this very flavorful rice bowl. Although, if you're not a fan of stuff like star anise, I don't think you'd like this. That flavor was the dominant one in this dish.

128036 Crispy Duck Rice (390 PHP) - good for two. The duck was not too tough, which was good, and the serving came with pickled veggies. Also crispy duck skin yassss!

By the way, you could add a soy egg for +50 PHP, which I did for one of the dishes. The egg was cooked just how I like it! 128523

I was supposed to try some of their flavored soy milks but eventually decided against it.

Overall, pretty solid place with a few items on their menu that's sure to satisfy you if you're craving some rice and solid flavors.

My last visit at Hole in The Wall was last year at the onset of Oktobeerfest 128517 127867 sobrang tagal na. Now, another event was held here thus the chance to visited the place.

I noticed that a few of the restaurants that was once there last year were no longer there this time. One or two new ones have occupied the place.

I was curious of what Famry had to offer. The signature dish that they have was their fried XLB aka shenjianbao or bunplings. I was surprised that the insides had soup but it wasn't proportionately distributed. Some of the bunplings that I had had more soup or none at all. The taste of the meat had a resemblance to Japanese gyoza .. with soup 128517.

One order contains 6pcs and I just gobbled everything without rice. It was filling and interesting 128522 I also tried their soya drink, I think I tried the lychee flavor ... and it did not go well with my bunplings 128517 ..it would have been better if I ordered a peach iced tea or iced tea to go with it.

• Shenjianbao (220php) -- 11088110881108811088

• Lychee Flavored Soy Drink (140php) -- 1108811088

Service was great. The one taking the orders were very helpful and she did indeed know what she is selling. 128077🏻

Ever since Charles teased this dish on his personal Facebook account, I've been waiting for it to open - we were in Taipei last April and practically had "Lu Rou Fan" everyday we were there. It's one of the staples in Taiwan, it's cheap, it's good and it's found everywhere!

There are small Taiwanese restaurants in Banawe or in Chinatown but so far no one has been able to fully replicate the dish properly. First look on this one and you know they have it right!

Spot on for the taste, even the egg is spot on! The sauce mixed in with the rice is also good! I do hope that they create a version with some more fat bits to it though, make it more "Taiwan Street Food" authentic!

Now for the Sheng Jian Bao, it's another one of those treats that you intentionally look for when you fly to Shanghai. Looks wise, they certainly got it! Taste, they got it too! It's hand made so that answers how they got the taste right. However, I had to give it 4 stars since the order I got - only 3 of the 6 had the soup inside! I guess they still need to get more of it ordered for the cook to get it perfect each time.

For the drink, I ordered the grape infused soy milk - but I still prefer the regular soy milk over a flavored one. So that's just me!
