breakfast meal of tapa w rice and egg and a cup of coffee. their tapa I found to be quite tough, had me wishing I just opted for the fish breakfast meal. nevertheless, I have had a small takeout iced coffee earlier at Figaro, that was great to start my day! I really like their coffee, wish I could say the same for my poor selection on the breakfast yesterday.

THUMBS UP: I'm an avid frappe lover. I can't say coffee lover since I don't really like hot coffee, so let's keep it at frappe. I usually go for Starbucks but since Figaro is the nearest coffee shop to my house plus the most sulit, I come here often for a coffee treat.

The seating is ample here, very comfy, you can freely stay for a long time since the place is big and yet not crowded, plus there's free WiFi. Servers usually stay inside the cashier area except when serving your food/drink but you can easily call their attention when needed as they don't chitchat noisily when idle.

I've tried a few flavors of their frappe and i like them all. My new favorite is their Choco Chip Java frappe. Average frappe price for regular is about P110 (compared to Starbucks' 155)

For this particular branch, I would recommend the cakes as they are always fresh. My daughter went crazy over their Little Oscar (a.k.a. Sans Rival at P119) while we also tried other flavors and we liked them all. Their average cake slice is at P65. We also love their Five-Cheese Pizza Ciabatta (P159) crispy cheesy thin crust, very basic so it tastes the same wherever branch we order it.

My personal favorite are their Bakes - baguette with melted cheese finished with either ham, mushroom, cheese pimiento or just get it as plain cheese. This treat costs P129 per four slices.

THUMBS DOWN: I had an unfortunate event in their Venice Piazza branch where I bought a stale cake - not expired just old by a few days maybe. The chocolate icing wasn't moist anymoreand the bread itself was dry and almost tastes like paper. I was so disappointed because I was craving for chocolate cake that day. But again, that was for a different branch.

For the Riverbanks branch, be warned against their pasta, we ordered two different flavors at two separate occasions, both smelled nice and looked appealing but was a let down because it was bland. The one pictured above is their Pesto (basil, garlic and Parmesan in olive oil P179.00).

Across all branches I warn you to stay away from the milk tea - or at least ask for the pearl/tapioca not to be added. Tapiocas should be cooked with lots of sugar and water for a minimum of 30 minutes under low fire with continuous stirring. Seriously not a task for the impatient or the easily distracted. It seems that their staff don't have the proper training to handle tapioca that's why they always end up clumped, tasteless and undercooked (still hard at the center).

I'm here at Riverbanks to buy stuffs from Nike outlet and after I bought all I need, I called my Mom if I'll make sundo na her, but she's still in a meeting. So I wondered where the hell can I make tambay. So I called my friend who lives nearby to ask where can I make tambay here at Riverbanks. He suggested Marquinton but I said that's a little bit far and I'm too tired to drive na. Kaya he pointed nalang Figaro which is in the area of Riverbanks lang.

At first I really don't know what to order that's why I looked at their posters nalang to see what they can offer. And saw this "Choco Chips Java", I wasn't really expecting anything with my order because I don't make tambay at Figaro. But when I tasted it, it really stunned me with its coffee like after taste, which I like the most kasi I'm not a fan of any sweets, criticize me all you can but I can't really finish a piece of Kisses. So yeah, and by the way dont be hesitant to blend the whipped cream to your drink 'coz it blends well with it.

I'm here with my husband Mars meeting with his high school batch mates and band/prod related friends. The place has very nice ambience (pati temperature ng aircon sakto lang!), and spacious with their 3 wide sofas and chairs and tables around. Good for big groups and meetings like what we're doing now.

I ordered their new selection of Figaro Frappē, 20oz Figaroccino Caramel Chips (P150), which the cashier lady suggested as their bestseller, and a plate of their Pesto pasta (P179) with 2 small garlic bread. True enough the frappē is yummy with all that caramel chips that tasted like bits of cooled choco chips. Whipped cream and caramel powder on top was also a sure hit for me (i love whipped cream on frappes!).

The Pesto is also a good partner with it. Taste like what a delicious Pesto should taste like. (Because Pesto is also one of my favorite kind of pasta dish!) this is good for one or to share if neither one of you are that hungry :P

I'm going back here if ever my husband goes back here again. Will try their other frappē selections next time!
