Fino Deli is the new kid in town and definitely a "must see"! This tapas/wine and cheese bar is fancy but not out of your price range.

They have different kinds of cheese and meats to match your chosen wine; pizza, and pasta. I loved their Cinco Pizza with 5 kinds of cheeses (490php; mozzarella, blue cheese, parmesan, cream cheese, and cheddar). The truffle pasta (235php) isn't bad, but i wish they would've cooked the pasta better - it was very soggy. This place has its own cellar filled with Castel Starmina - Fino's Romania-imported house wine. Good quality wine without the expensive price tag.

If you are looking for a nice deli and wine place in Marikina, Fino should definitely top your to-visit list.

I'm a person who would support businesses around my neighborhood and with the influx of foodie joints in Marikina, I have a list of places to try. Yep, there are misses and disappointments but there are places that are for keeps.

Fino Deli is a place that I want to keep a secret as much as possible. Tucked in a residential area, a bit off the usual Lilac staples, this restaurant is everything that those in Lilac aren't: spacious, quiet and with ample parking.

I purposely skipped lunch as I planned to have eat here when they open at around 3pm. I wanted to try one of their wines by the glass as I need to decide which bottle to buy for my husband's nightly wine dose.

I got their Grilled Tomahawk Porkchop (P450) that is served with Mushroom Risotto and asked the waiter which wine to get with it. The server suggested Merlot and asked my preference as they offer 2 types. I decided to get the milder one (Egot) and yep, it's smoother unlike Shiraz or Cabernet that we usually have at home. Honestly, it's my first time time to dine with wine at a restaurant and I was really clueless to whatever wine etiquette there is. Basta I told the waiter na ibuhos na lang yung wine LOL.

The porkchop is HUGE! It can feed 2 pabebe pax if you get another dish like a pasta or soup. The meat is not overly seasoned and the the balsamic sauce complemented the meat well. I cannot comment about the Risotto as it was my first time to have one. Any suggestions where to try a legit Risotto?

Anyway, this place is great for dates. I will definitely bring my husband here.

Fino Deli is a hidden gem, carefully tucked between the quiet streets of a long stretch of residential structures along the undiscovered streets of Marikina.

Friday Night is date night.  Albeit the rain and my lack of sense of direction,  we arrived at Fino Deli in one piece.  I was a surprised when i glanced at Fino from afar,  thr faux edifice looks mighty attractive from afar.

I was glad i wore pants! Although there is no sign that they have a strict dress code,  i felt relieved that i ditched the house clothes for something more presentable.

Note:  Please pardon the lack of adjectives in the succeeding sentences as i can't remember the flavors.  I got hammered that night.

| Sausage and Cheese Platter.  Cheese and wine is a match made in heaven.  If memory serves me right,  it's goat cheese.  The sausage is good too - peppery,  savory with subtle spice level.

| Ribeye Steak.   I am not knowledgeable with steak,  keep that on the record.  I made the last minute decision to get this as i heard that red is best paired with meat. The ribeye is tender and oozing with flavors with each bite. We both enjoyed the beautiful slab of meat on our plate.

| Two Bottles of Red.  Viva Romania!  I love your wine!  I think i finished one bottle on my own.  I am looking forward to more drunken nights spent with you.

I am look forward to visiting Fino Deli again,  not for the wine but for the other stuff they have on their menu.

This semi-hidden gem in Marikina is an escape from the busy street Lilac has become.

I heard they are also distributors of wine and they have this one part of the resto with racks of wine for you to choose from.

Perfect for those wanting to have a nice place for dinner, wine with friends, or even on a date.

The place offers cheese (it's a deli for wine's sake) and this means if there's legit cheese, order their cheese pizza! Their Cinco Queso pizza was the bomb. Beware, it has bleu cheese and you know what bleu cheese does - it separates cheese lovers from hardcore cheese lovers.

They offer cheap house wine and it won't hurt to buy a whole bottle instead. They also sell bad-ass tomahawk chops with mushroom risotto and their pastas are for sharing. The food is great and the price is reasonable. I was expecting it to be on the expensive side but when I saw the portion, it was worth it.
