I live near the Ortigas Business District and Fireside is one of my go-to places for celebrations.

Got some Truffled Potato Chips as appetizer. P199

I always order Buttermilk Fried Chicken with it's lovely cornbread (I love this!) and gravy! P489

And oh, it's 50/50 Meatloaf! Never missed this one! P389

The best meatloaf I've tasted so far! And of course, paired with its Mashed Potatoes.

It's Spaghetti Meatballs Pasta is okay. No 'wow' factore but well cooked and presented. P349

Place and Ambiance

Place is cozy, very courteous staffs.

Lighting is just uneven in the inner part of the restaurant.

Wash area is a bit small.

Overall, I highly recommend this place for it's ambiance and good food.

Im just so happy to see that they are consistent in bringing out good, truly comforting food. Their servings are meant for sharing and you’ll really have a better experience if you come in with a bigger group. Since it was only me and my 2 kids for lunch, we couldn't order that much.
128293Buttermilk fried chicken with corn bread, honey and gravy. 489.
I’ve been telling my son about their fried chicken and he was very skeptical about enjoying it. Im glad he loved it and finished most the order. He was talking about it for days. I really like drizzling the honey both on the chicken and cornbread. Sana they had also provided biscuits. My son ate this with rice.

128293Truffle potato chips. 199.
My order. Naman, ang sarap! Not the healthiest one to munch on. The combination of bleu cheese, special sauce and truffle is rich and delicious. Never a visit without getting this.

128293Smoked Mac & Cheese with bacon chunks. 209.
The server informed us that this is a small serving. Oddly small, considering every other dish I’ve tried here is to share. We really liked this! First time to try it, hence our review. Creamy and cheesy. Tastes like real mac & cheese.

128293Complimentary Brownie ala mode.
Thanks for giving us dessert as we celebrated my son’s birthday. We actually waited quite a bit for this and I even told the server that we don’t mind leaving without it. But she kept telling me it should come out soon and I truly appreciated her follow ups with us.

we had a despedida early lunch for our german friend (bald guy) and we decided to hold it here because i also had a 1pm meeting in megamall. he wanted Chinese food but we still had it here. hehe

first came was the potato chips 128077128077128077128077, when we finished it, we ordered another plate of potato chips. hehe

after the chips, came my order, Caesar salad with BACON!! 2 slabs of bacon. 128077128077128077128077128077. my friends were surprised that I ordered salad as I don't always eat veggies. hehe

then came the buttered milk fried chicken fingers 128077128077128077128077128077. sarap!!

after the chicken was 50/50. it's a meatloaf that tasted like a burger. the mashed potato that came with it was nice.

we also ordered the carafe of tamarind iced tea. it was too sweet so we put more water. hehe

I wasn't able to taste the sweet potato fries and the pasta because i wanted to eat the food I enjoyed already. hehe

We were looking for a new restaurant to try for dinner & found this at 3rd floor Mega Fashion Hall. We came here on a Saturday evening, quite late. No problem finding a table, we were shown to our place which was really nice.

We were both too hungry to eat that time that I wasn't able to check their menu before we decided to eat in their place. I was quite surprised with their meals because it was a bit pricey for me (maybe because I actually do not want to spend too much on our meal as I'm trying to be frugal now). I ask one of their staff which on their list are good for sharing. Thanks God they have! Haha. We chose their "50/50 Meatloaf". 50% ground bacon. 50% ground Angus beef. It's a simple but robust menu that isn’t cluttered with too many variations. Fireside really focused on the flavor of the meats. Very tasty meat loaf, along with their barbeque sauce and yummy mashed potatos with garlic.

Since I cut off eating rice I chose their salad "Grilled Chop House" as a replacement. Mixed greens. Zuchhini. Broccoli. Cauliflower. Kale. Poneapple. Bell peppers. Apple. Egg. Roasted chicken breast. Feta. Honey lemon dressing. I super love their salad! Though it's kinda zesty for me.

I also ordered their "Melon Shake" which I wasn't able to enjoy and empty it because I can't sip my drink through their straw smoothly. I dunno if they have blended it properly.

All the food came together in a reasonable time once we had ordered. Service is very friendly, with helpful and patient menu explanation and recommendations. I said earlier that their food was a bit pricey. But after I tasted their food, I think their flavoursome meals made up for it. I may say the cost is reasonable and value for what you get. Overall a very nice dining experience & Yes, we would return.

I think I know what love is...(I know, at such a young age, how odd)

When we took our seats, the first thing that caught my eye was the 50/50 Meatloaf which was 50% bacon and 50% ground beef, and the next thing I noticed was the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Fingers. My mom ordered the 50/50 Meatloaf and my sister ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Fingers, and since I was torn between both, I ordered something completely different which was the Smoked Mac & Cheese because that was the first thing I saw while panicking on choosing something. We also decided to order Cesear Salad (Platter) to share.

The salad came first and we were all shocked. When the waitress said that there would be bacon, we didn't expect it to be two huge bacon slabs. Honestly, it's such an ironic thing to eat when you're trying to be healthy because there are these two huge bacon slabs mocking you and teasing you for *trying* even the least bit to be healthy hahaha. The salad was very creamy and cheesy, although too creamy for my liking, but it was still pleasant to eat. The bacon slabs...mmm...they were so juicy and tasty...is it bad that I preferred these over the actual salad??

The Smoked Mac & Cheese was honestly so sad. It was PHP209 and as you can see in the picture, it's very tiny. Definitely not a "Main" dish and definitely not worth its price. It tasted average to me...it could pass off as any mac and cheese that I can get from the supermarket :(((

Since the Smoked Mac and Cheese was so small, my sister and I decided to split the pasta into two, as well as the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Fingers, thank you very much, Denise J . :)) Hmmm...the buttermilk fried chicken...man, there is so much to say about this dish. Okay, so this is the love that I was talking about. There are about 6 huge pieces of chicken fingers and 6 huge pieces of cornbread doughnut holes. The chicken is SO juicy on the inside yet so crispy and a tad bit spicy on the outside. The gravy goes very well with the chicken fingers as they compliment one another. The cornbread doughnut holes are very delicious as well, they are crunchy (much like the outside of a wicked oreo) on the outside yet soft and very tasty on the inside. They go very well with the honey provided. This dish is seriously a must, you have to order this and share it amongst your friends and family. You *will* seriously fall in love.

Yeah, that's all I have to say. Oh, and make sure to wear your comfiest pants, sweatpants even, as you will walk out with the biggest food baby ever.

Kettle haven't failed yet in terms of their delicious dishes. Shoutout to their chicken buttermilk woot woot. Anyway, we were all hungry and decided to have lunch before watching a movie.

Ordered:
Grilled Chop House (platter, 389pesos) - hefty serving great for sharing.
Slow Roaster US Brisket Platter (579pesos) - the serving for the beef wasn't as generous as we were expecting it to be.
Smoked Mac & Cheese (209pesos) - yummy and creamy pasta. 128523

Busog! Probably one of the reasons why I fell asleep in the movie theater 128514

Back here again but this time we TRIED to stay away from our usual orders. Try lang.128514

Truffled Potato Chips - some of our friends were running late so we first ordered our favorite appetizer. Didn't even last 5 minutes 128514

Buttermilk Fried Chicken - of course this one is a must. More than the chicken, there's really something about the crisp when you bite the cornbread 128522

And now, for the "un"usuals.

Smoked Mac and Cheese - not enough saltiness in their cheese, and serving is also small. It was good but I wont be ordering this again.

Slow Roasted Brisket Platter - tender and sticky, just how I like my ribs. It came with potato salad that kept the "umay" factor at bay.

Double Cut Porkchop - really thick cut of pork here! It was actually difficult to cut 128514 but the sauce was very good, as well as the grilled veggies.

As usual, went home with happy tummies. Will go back here again and again and again. 128522128077128076

Fell inlove with their Buttermilk Fried chicken strips and cornbread donuts. The strips were really juicy and not that oily. The cornbread donuts instantly became a fave!! It's like Kenny Roger's muffins rolled into a ball and then deep fried!!!
(Omg such a bad idea writing this before sleeping 128557 im craving) Their servings are huge so best to share with your family/friends. 10084

My go-to comfort food place! 10084

Truffled Potato Chips - very addicting. Great as a muncher while waiting for orders and kwentuhan with friends. Nakakalungkot pag naubos ng di napapansin 128543 lol

50/50 Meatloaf with Mashed Potato - meatloaf has great flavor but the real MVP is the mashed potato side dish. Best Mashed Potato in Manila!

Buttermilk Fried Chicken Fingers - yes. A definite and resounding yes.

Grilled Chop House Salad - not your ordinary boring salad mix. You would think it has weird ingredients, but the honey lemon dressing really makes it all come together!

Sometimes when you wonder around and say lets eat here instead- it works. Fireside is one of the best places to eat here in Mega. The chops are soft, tasty and really thick! I like the fact that it tries to balance it out with quality selections of vegetables on the side. The chicken and corn bread- wow! What a combination. You must dive into it! Will go back for sure.

And I forgot to do a review on this. And yes, I forgot to take photos 128517

For starters, I was late in meeting up with my buddies for this. So they ordered food and yeah, arrangement wasn't picture perfect. The highlight dish for me is their Buttermilk Fried Chicken Fingers. So good! I wanted more but I was shy. Hahaha. It came with this donut munchkins that I soon found out was made of corn. Didn't get that corn feel but the chicken was really good. We also had Salmon Gravlax Tartar, Asian Shrimp Salad and Australian Lamb Ribs. And yes, those ribs were so fine. 128076

My bf and I chose to have dinner at Fireside over the holidays... It's one of the restaurants at Fashion Hall that we have yet to try and I really needed a break from DTF! (I've been there 3x the whole December, natuwa lang)128517 Besides, there was no line during dinnertime when we dropped by! We were seated immediately and I fell in love with their very comfy black chair! Pwede po takeout yung upuan?128513 di kasya sa bag e!128517

I insisted on the truffled potato chips with blue cheese dip, because I'm a big fan of blue cheese! Any stinky cheese for that matter... My bf wasn't too happy with my choice (blue cheese hater), but he went with it... We decided to share the Fireside Chorizo burger and an order of their buttermilk fried chicken fingers... Yey!128525

Fireside by Kettle is the more laid back cousin of Kettle, still with Chef Chiloy at the helm... They have similar flavor profiles but Fireside has a different menu... The influence from Kettle is undeniable but Fireside puts a twist!

The truffled potato chips were served pretty quickly, which our hungry tummies appreciated! Ooooooohhh, it was so addicting! I loved every crunchy bite with that distinct truffle taste and a hint of blue cheese... My bf, who isn't a fan of blue cheese, liked this dish! Just by steering clear of the blue cheese bits, he was able to enjoy the chips... The blue cheese dip was a bit tarty and he didn't feel like he was consuming his most hated cheese... So, blue cheese haters, no need to worry! You can let the fans order this dish... I think probably ate most of the chips and I'm not sorry about it!128150

When I see a chori burger on the menu, I'm always drawn to it for some reason... I like veering away from the usual burger... Fireside's version wasn't that great for me. It had a juicy chorizo patty topped with an overcooked sunny side up egg and red pepper cream cheese... I couldn't taste the cream cheese to be honest. I also didn't like the texture of the patty... But my bf had no issues with it, to be fair... As for me, I couldn't finish my half of the burger...

Lastly, we had the buttermilk fried chicken fingers!128156128156128156 It is different from Kettle's buttermilk fried chicken, because they use a different mix for the batter... I honestly liked the chicken fingers of Fireside better... I liked how the chicken remained juicy, which is a usual problem encountered with smaller cuts of this meat... The chicken was cooked perfectly, with a crunchy, flavorful exterior! The cornbread donuts had a great consistency, not at all dry and the perfect companion to the savory chicken... We both agreed that it was definitely better than the cornbread side of Kettle's buttermilk fried chicken. We always find their cornbread a bit dry, but not the cornbread donuts! They were just plain delightful!128525 Still served with the gravy and honey, a great balance of flavors and textures! This is a pretty heavy dish btw, good for sharing already... But the bf has a big appetite, so he was able to finish the chori burger and the chicken fingers too! If it's your first time at Fireside, you definitely can't go wrong with this!128515

Our orders went so well with beer! Yey!128588

Service was okay, servers were friendly but it was a challenge to call their attention... But I had a great time and I enjoyed the meal for the most part!128515

Wow so many recommendations for this restaurant! Thanks for the reco guys!128156

J and I randomly went here for dinner. It was supposed to be a "light dinner" since I was having a stomach flu. He ordered soup for my angry stomach and one order of buttermilk chicken. We were thinking that we only ordered food for two-- but nah. The serving is too big! 128514

Buttermilk chicken is good, I like the cornbread on the side. 9786️ J being a guy with a monster appetite, ordered rice to go with the chicken. The soup he ordered to calm my angry stomach was chorizo tomato soup? Something like that. It tastes like an adult Filipino spaghetti tho. 128514128584 I wasnmt able to finish it.

We stayed there for more than an hour I think. Cos we really can't finish everything. Service is fast. 128522

For the price: P300-P1000. 128522

I can’t help it. I just can’t. I smile like a love struck fool whenever I see a new restaurant. And last December, I saw Fireside. I was really curious and wanted to check the place out but my favorite Dragon Lady and two Rs wanted to visit Linguini Fini then. Three weeks later, I made it happen.

Hello, Fireside!

I guess I wasn’t too observant when I went in as I was surprised to see that Fireside is owned by Kettle, the maker of “Manila’s best buttermilk fried chicken” or so what most foodies claim. And since I was in a hurry and was quite hungry too, we decided to go for the following: Grilled Chop House (PHP189, bowl | PHP389, platter), Buttermilk Fried Chicken Tenders (PHP489), Steak BLT (PHP389) and Homemade S’mores (PHP139).

First served was our salad.

The salad was a mix of greens, zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, pineapple, bell pepper, apples, eggs, roasted chicken breasts and feta cheese with honey lemon dressing. As much as I love salad, this one took me a while before I started to really enjoy it. I’m not sure what I found off but the taste was slightly weird. I loved the broccoli and chicken though.

The buttermilk fried chicken tenders dish was basically the chicken tenders version of the well-loved buttermilk fried chicken of Kettle’s. And it’s great too! The breading was flavored well. The cornbread doughnuts were great too! I loved dipping the chicken in honey than gravy though.

The sandwich was pretty big and good for sharing. The meat was juicy and quite flavorful too. I had to remove the bread though as it was starting to get heavy after eating salad and fried chicken.

As for the dessert…

Presentation wasn’t that impressive and after enjoying a pan of Refinery’s baked s’mores, my expectation was a bit high. Fireside’s version was so-so for me as the chocolate was a bit pudding-like and it sure was messy to eat this dish. But the marshmallows had me at gooey.

Overall, it was a good dinner. I’ll be back to try the other sandwiches.

Serving was huge and very filling, although quite pricey.

Buttermilk fried chicken fingers with corn doughnut 1108811088110881108811088
Crispy chicken strips went perfectly with the honey and their version of muffin or "doughnut" as they called it. Crunchy on the inside and moist on the inside. Soooo goood!

Slow roasted US brisket platter with macaroni salad 1108811088110881108811088
Meat was very tender and flavorful and went best with their version of macaroni salad which had the right amount of sweetness to it.

I am in love with this place. We tried the 50/50 meatloaf, macaroni salad, and steak blt and they were so so good.

Forgot why it was called 50/50 meatloaf, but it's so soft. I love its feel in my mouth. Plus the huge servings of mashed potato as sides.
Then the steak blt is so meaty. Come on - steak and bacon?!

All of these for roughly 900 pesos. Most of the food on their meals are for sharing.
