What I don't get about this place is their name, its called flavors restaurant and yet their food lacks in flavor 128584128514

I dont wanna sound harsh but I did not like any of their food except their desserts.. 🙄

Its a fancy looking place, with fancy looking food, they have a salad bar, a taco bar, sushi bar, a soup bar, savory table, and of course a dessert bar,

The salad bar,
Typical salad like lettuces tomatoes and carrots, everything is fresh and they have good dressings and vinaigrettes. 128522

The sushi bar,
Ordinary, nothing special, just 3 kinds of ordinary rolls, they don't even have a sashimi.

The taco bar,
You can make your own tacos and burritos, I got excited and made one of each. I was not able to finish it 128514

The soup bar,
Typical beef, pork or chicken soup.

The savory table,
Dinuguan, steamed vegetables, liempo, sinigang, fish fillets etc. nothing special, everything lacks flavor.

The dessert bar,
This is where I started to enjoy the buffet, their cakes and pastries are good, specially their classic crepe samurai!! Which was first introduced in cafe jipney in intercontinental Hotel 128077128513 and they also have a make your own ice cream station! 128077

All in all I think flavors has a lot of things to improve, the buffet selection is few. I did not say it was bad but if your going to charge me 1200+ for a buffet, My expectation will be high 128513128522

Workday holiday at Holiday Inn

Gotta start with a plate of their fresh pastries only at Php 150. One plate has mini croissants ( plain, almond or chocolate ), muffins, fruit Danish or cinnamon rolls )

I'm back again at this place but this time, it's for lunch. 127860

First plate is always dedicated to sushis and maki 127843 Everything with salmon made me happy. Heheh! I love this station. Hope they'll serve tempura next time.127844

I also enjoyed their molo soup. Just the right saltiness of the soup and flavorful meatballs. Yum! Next is their grilling station.. I ordered the pork teriyaki and fish (not sure what type). I enjoyed the pork but the fish was a bit itchy to the tongue. I wonder why.

Their seafood choices was very limited. I was in the mood for fish and shrimps that day but nah! No shrimp! 128557 and I think there was only gindara and the grilled fish for the seafood. Oh well. Next is the Filipino dishes which I think is a staple. I didn't get it though so I can't comment on it's taste. They also have a carving station but it was only lechon that time. No steak or turkey here.

Last is the dessert. If not for the dessert, I would give this place only 3 stars for this visit. They have a lot of dessert choices. They have fondue, fruits, ice cream, halohalo, cakes and other pastries. Everything was good and I think this is one of their specialty here-desserts so +11088️ for it. I enjoyed the truffle cake the most. It was bittersweet with a crunchy sweet (with a hint of salt) crust. Wow! I also like their strawberry meringue.

Availed their breakfast buffet promo from DealGrocer.

Buffet spread has the following stations - japanese, cold cuts, cheese, salad, cereal, fresh fruits, pinoy, noodle, egg, waffles and pastries.

We started out our meal with makis again :)) they have limited choices though.. I was looking for a salmon but there was none. I also tried and liked their salmon lugaw! Pinasosyal na lugaw e. Hehe! The cheese sausage was also delicious..

Their muffins and other breads are freshly baked. They have their oven (yes on the pastry section) where you can see the breads and muffins being baked. cool, right?

They also have several fresh fruit drinks like - lemongrass, guava, mango, orange and iced tea. The guava is good, I actually didn't expect is to be yummy 128513

There were a lot of hotels guests that time so by past 9am, some of the viands were already changed. Their cheese sausage was reeeally good!!! I was looking forward to have my second serving of it but when I was ready to eat again, it was already changed to ordinary sausage. 128557 The ratatouille was also changed to just stir fry veggies 128514

They placed small table number cards which you can present when you make an order on their egg or noodle station. I haven't seen it in some hotel buffets and I think its a good idea because you won't have to wait till your order gets cooked. They will just deliver it on your table 128077🏼

I was blessed to be invited to Flavors' Media Launch. Flavors had tied up with The Sexy Chef, sisters Rachel and Chef Barni Alejandro.

For 2 consecutive weekends, May 23, 24, 30, 31, Flavors will be adding their lunch and dinner buffet with healthy creations from The Sexy Chef.

Their concept to make u indulge in a buffet where u win't feel guilty eating a lot. They are focused on offering high protein, lo calorie meals.

We were able to sample the ff:
My fave - Baked Salmon: this dish is with bechamel sauce, their bechamel sauce was made using reduced fat milk and topped with mozzarella cheese

My 2nd fave - coconut chicken and oat soup. It tasted like a hearty meal of arroz caldo. But they used oats instead of grains and used gata. They had included carrots and malunggay

Rachel is holding their version of california maki. It is wrapped with Walter Sugar free bread instead of sticky rice.

Chef Barni is holding their creation of Quinoa Shrimp Fried Rice. Its my 1st tym to eat quinoa. Not bad!

I actually felt full already. But i also tasted their regular buffet. I like their made to order chicken noodles soup and their thin crust pizza.

I think flavors concentrates on desserts. They have variety of pastries, halo hali, soft ice cream, fruits among others

Cute table decor! 128059

But I could say otherwise for their buffet. At P1399++ during lunch hour, it was just okay. The selection of international were okay, however, only a few stood out. One is really better off at other buffer restos. Service was quite efficient. But it was just pricey for me.

128529 Late Review 128529

Happy Holidays last week. Lol 12787712787610052

For 2014, we had our family Christmas Eve Dinner at Flavors. It's a new thing for us, since we traditionally spend the whole Christmas just at home. Actually its my first time not spending Christmas Day at our humble abode. Lol

Well off to my muscular rating for Flavors a 128170 would be the lowest and 128170128170128170 would be the highest 128513

AMBIENCE - I like any hotel ambience 128170128170128170

FOOD - not so impressed with the selections, they had a wider range the first time I tried flavors, and considering it's a Christmas Eve feast, they should have pumped up the menu 128170128170

PRICE - A bit pricey for what they offer 128170128170

STAFF - My glass was never empty and our table was never filled with used plates 128170128170128170

OVERALL - I can only offer 2 muscles 128170128170 I expected a more feastful dinner than what we've got

For Christmas Eve dinner, my family and I tried Flavor's buffet. I was expecting that they will have limited stations. As we entered I liked the table setting because it was decorated with blue accents. We were approached by a few waitresses and asked if we wanted anything for drinks. I then checked out their food. It was pretty limited. They had 2 types of rice: plain and paella (I liked their paella). A few meat, some veges, one flavor of pizza, a salad bar, and the dessert area. For the pasta and noodle soup you can ask the chef to make you some. For the carving station they only had the honey glazed ham. There was also steak but it was already in a pan and was just okay. Some dishes were a hit and miss. For the desserts they had soft served iced cream, creme brûlée (which I liked), cakes (which I loved), French macaroons (not good), chocolate fondue (I wish they had marshmallows) and halo-halo station.

The dining experience was okay. What I liked about eating in hotels that aren't grand is that it's not too noisy and crowded.

I wanted buffet at first but when I checked the food they were serving that night, it was not worth it because it was limited. I decided to go a la carte instead.

CHICKEN BURGER (P550)
I actually did not expect this to taste good. I went daredevil again when I read the menu. It's an artisan burger with avocado, gruyere and toasted foccacia bun. It was delicious! The best burger would still be the ones with beef patties but this exceeded expectations. served with fries and dip on the side .

Hiiii, Im back! 128075 Sorry looloo for being MIA. I just have to enjoy summer! 128584

So, in my almost 3 week stay in Holiday Inn, we were able to try their restaurant and eat breakfast here almost every morning. 128515

They're breakfast buffet is undeniably almost perfect! They have everything you could possibly eat during breakfast from cereals to rice meals. 128522 They have a section for waffles, pancakes, crepes and you cant customize it by putting some nuts, walnuts, cashews, blueberry, whip cream and different fruits.

They also have a wide variety if pastries. Their drinks are not usual, there's guava flavor. It's my first time to try it and I love it! 128525

Tried out flavors. Price was ok for the spread. 1284/head. They have salad, Japanese, bread, grilling, kids & etc station. Food was average. Service was ok.

*if you have a metrobank credit card I think you can get 20% off.
*ask for some sashimi, it's not displayed.

For a hotel buffet, I found this place lacking 128521 Few choices...food just fine, nothing spectacular... 3 kinds of sushi, salmon and tuna sashimi... an array of not so impressive salad (as pictured)... the only thing that made my day was the grilled shrimp.. it was tasty, big. and done just right... dessert was a disappointment as well...for 1,400++ , I expected more... good thing I availed of the BPI card promo at 50% off.... 128539128547128563
Even with that, I don't think I'll be back anytime soon128513

Ate breakfast here awhile ago. Brunch, actually, but it doesn't really matter 128556 The food was okay, nothing much to rave about. The french toast was quite dry, and so were the waffles. But I gotta give credit to their good service! 128077 They were friendly very accommodating 128522 I wasn't able to taste a bit of everything for I got stuffed easily. Too bad, I've been eyeing the makimono display 128532 Next time, perhaps.

Just another one of those gastronomic treats that you wouldn't be able to find just anywhere. So here they are, crookies. Croissant + cookies, well more like Oreos. They're actually really great for me. Not too sweet, not too weird. You can't eat it while driving though, it was kind of a messy experience. 128517

Try to grab some if you're in the area. They're really worth it. 9786

A little precaution though. They only make 5 for each flavor, which makes it a rare commodity. 128541

Oh! And it's just a little less than 65 bucks, which is actually cheap for hotel pastry. 128540

Crookies in the photo are chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and peanut butter. 128522

Ordered:
Smoked salmon wrap
Seared tuna

Pros
- Convenient
- Nice ambience
- Love the ice cubes (yes, I'm very particular with ice cubes!)
- yummy complimentary bread basket (soft pretzel rolls and dinner rolls)
- seared tuna was good, not the best but I'd come back for it if I were to eat here again

Cons
- the waiter kept insisting that my smoked salmon wrap was my moms seared tuna, we had to correct him 3 times til he finally got it
(The waiters there always have a smile though, so I have to give them points for that)
- service was a bit slow
- we had to call them twice for iced water
- we had to look for the waitress to get our bill
- smoked salmon wasn't actually smoked, seemed pretty cooked and not it's normal orange color

Overall:
Didn't expect much from holiday inn as we were just really there to shop in glorietta. I wouldn't have the smoked salmon wrap again, and as for the seared tuna it was just pretty yummy. Not the best hotel food but for a 3 star hotel it satisfied. I will come back to try the other things!
