Need I say more? Such a beautiful place to stay! CAUTION: A lot of Chinese present because of the Casino.. and Fort Ilocandia is a member of Jimei Club, which includes Macau and HK casinos.

Even if the place is old. The hotel is great. Still the only 5star hotel in the north.

I know that this is supposed to be one of the best hotels in the area, however, I did not enjoy my stay here that much.

While the hotel represents that there is internet by wi fi access everywhere, when you go to your room, however, you would have intermittent access to it.

The pillows are soft. However, the sheets and pillows and the bathroom and generally the entire room, smell really old. I am very particular about the smell of hotels and I guess of alot of things and I really hate that old/mothbally/baul ni lola smell, characteristic of old buildings and the like.

Our room had 3 beds and the bathroom has railing presumably to assist PWD's. Good job on considering their needs. There is a glasslike aliding door that allows you access to the balcony area of your room. It's great to hang out there to enjoy the view.

There are a lot of old paintings and historical pieces/ writings displayed all over the vast estate of this place. There are many things to see and to learn from.

The food, however, was mediocre at best.

The place is not as well maintained as I hoped it would be but It was pretty okay (or more than okay), compared to all the other hotels around the area.

One of the stops in Ilocos before heading down to La Union.

Went there more for the curiosity than to actually stay there - but was surprised myself on how well maintained the place is. It has a mini zoo at the back, and they cordon specific areas just for hotel guests. For a hotel so far up, there charge Manila rates for rooms ranging from 5000 and up.

It had a thriving casino where the resort folks say people fly direct to Laoag from China to gamble.

Unfortunately, it became very visible on who the type of visitors were as the Chinese guys I saw were perhaps 50-60 years of age with the women maybe less than half their age.

Lots of history in the place, the Marcos heritage is very apparent with the paintings and head monuments.

This is loft-style living in the heart of a far away province 128522

The owner of this resort is the same owner of Fontana, that's why this place is undoubtedly beautiful. Upon entering the lobby, you would see several hang pictures of celebrities and artists, as well as public officers, foreign and local, who stayed and were accommodated in the resort. I will never forget the big, luxurious chandelier in the middle, sparkling beautifully with diamonds in the sky, shine bright like a diamond! 127926127908128586 And below that is a table glass displaying beautiful pearls and corals.

The resort owns a big area and it houses not just the bricked hotel structures but also casino, sports areas, pools and other facilities that are equally entertaining and highly sought for.

The visitors who stay here are free to have a very, very sumptuous breakfast buffet. It's not just for two, but for everyone. Interestingly, their lobby also has a grand piano where a man in his almost late years plays swiftly and smoothly. I could just cry my heart out admiring the man who plays the piano so well. He closes his eyes and lets his hand do the playing. If only I can be his apprentice (lol yea 128587 frustrated pianist right here).

I recommend you stay in this place when you plan to go to Ilocos. It's something very unique and special, and one that could surpass the resorts we have in the metro. Once in a while, going to places like this would remind you how beautiful life is and how wonderful things are! 9786
