Dining at Franco's was a good experience.

For starters I ordered oysters rockefeller. I was pleased because unlike in other places where they only come in big servings, here you can get a small order of three oysters.

We also had angus beef sisig, which was also delicious. It didn't have a lot of fat and the beef was tender and tasty. The beef stew was also yummy. It was tended, not too sweet with a little hint of wine.

Price wise, it was reasonable and the staff were courteous and helpful.

I needed a place to hang out for a few hours with lunch (that's not cafe sandwiches) and sockets available. Decided to try this since I've never eaten here.

Service was not bad but could've been better...considering I was the first customer. It would've been nice had the staff made recommendations proactively since I didn't know what to order.

I wanted to order the vegetable samosas but they were out so settled for the ham and cheese croquettes instead. Crunchy and generous in size but sooo lacking in taste. P150.

Pumpkin soup was decent although reminded me more of cheesy potato than what I've been used to.

And for the entree, mushroom risotto. TBH I haven't tasted a lot of risottos but this one tasted like the rice was cooked in soup broth...and nothing else. There just wasn't anything exciting about the dish that made me want to finish it. Monotonous taste, if there was such a thing.

Maybe I should've ordered the all-day breakfast items since that's the only thing the staff recommended. Then again, why offer so much more if they're not worth ordering?

This was my first time trying Franco's since we do not usually go to Makati area. The place was not jump packed since we went on a weekday so there will be few people around the mall and fewer competitors in the parking area. 128514

The place had the homey feeling that you get comfortable with immediately. There was a long couch were you can seat on the left side and rectangular tables on the right. The middle isle was composed of small square shaped tables which I deemed to be a little small for a dinner esp when dishes were served.

First on the list was the pasta primavera which was the best primavera I ever had so far! The dish was accompanied by a triangular shaped toast. The sauce and the ingredients match perfectly without a doubt.

Next on the list is the chickpea burger. I expected more on this dish but I ended in a disappointment esp the fries that has exactly the same texture and taste as with the fries if McDonald's. As for the burger, the serving was big but the patty was too soft. It easily breaks into small pieces and end up with bits and pieces of patty on your plate rather than in your mouth.

Mushroom risotto was next on the list. This was an ok food, so-so, not a highly recommended dish. The serving was small, a little bit salty, it seem to lack the fragrant aspect of the dish.

Last was the vegetable samosas. This comes in tiny dumpling like skin. The sauce was sweet which I did not expect and they don't have the authentic Indian taste which I prefer. 128514128514128514

Ordered beef salpicao pasta. Strange, it had orange/ tomato cream sauce. Beef was burnt and bland. 380 per serve.

Food tasted very good but serving size and price is 128078. I do not recommend this place for big & heavy eaters. Maybe for those on a diet but with extra moolah to splurge. Not for big groups or for sharin either.

We ordered their pumpkin soup, angus beef sisig and shrimp truck shrimp.

The pumpkin soup was perfect. It was creamy and you can distinctly taste the pumpkin. It was served with a very thin bread sticks.

The angus beef was really delicious. It was placed in a appetizer plate/small plate.

The shrimp truck's sauce was very rich. The shrimp was also fresh and roughly around 10 pcs. Of it was served on top of a half serving of rice.

Service and interior was ok.

I love my alone time. It’s quite sad to know that some people assume that being alone means being lonely. For me, spending some time with one’s self is proof that you are not dependent on people to do things. I know some people who can’t eat alone. Some can’t even go shopping alone. Well, I have been through that phase too. And yes, saying, “Table for one, please” still makes me giggle.

While walking around Rockwell to canvass some items for work, I passed by the strip of restaurants and realized that I was famished. Given, I haven’t had breakfast yet and it was already 1 p.m. that time. I was thinking of having a light snack at some coffee shop but realized that it’s such a waste if I don’t try something new. So after some thought, I decided to visit…

Franco’s.

Apparently, Franco's is also owned by the management handling Myron’s Steaks, Ribs and Seafood. I noticed though, unlike the steakhouse counterpart, the dishes offered by Franco’s are much more affordable.

The place is pretty charming. (Fine, I like wooden tables and cute chairs.)

After a quick look at the menu, I decided to go for the Pumpkin Soup (PHP120), Grilled Salmon (PHP350), Crème Brulee (PHP160) and Butterfly Iced Tea (PHP90). Yes, I wanted a light lunch.

The pumpkin soup was served first and it was deeelightful! It was creamy and it had a great balance of sweetness and saltiness. I finished the whole bowl in less than five minutes.

Next served was my grilled salmon which came with pasta. The grandfather next to my table ordered the same thing after seeing my plate!

I drooled when my plate arrived. The serving was just right for one person and it sure was filling. The pasta was cooked well and the grilled salmon was still juicy when served. I also enjoyed the halved tomatoes.

The crème brulee was served hot. The server warned me that the plate was still hot and of course, for me to get a better angle, I had to move it. And… ouch. He wasn’t kidding when he said it was hot.

The crème brulee was the perfect dish to end my meal. It was creamy and not that sweet. I loved the torched caramel on top too.

Overall, I had a lunch at Franco’s. I will definitely be back for more. Well, perhaps I’ll bring my sister along.

I would have given a higher rating had the Shrimp Truck Shrimp not been too salty. The steak was perfect though.

Franco's used to be Myron's. Please refer to this link about Myron's
https://looloo.com/r/57v7

The restaurant is a tribute to one of the sons of the owner(s). The menu is a shortlisted version of Myron's. This is where you could bring your whole family to dine as the interiors are brighter and more welcoming. It is kid-friendly as well. We pretty much ordered the same stuff from Myron's as these are the best-sellers.

The President, (see photo and pardon the shadow) Oysters rockefeller, amaretto sour, ham and cheese croquettes. See what i did there? Happy hour all the time with me! :)

I tried their ultimate burger and it's good. I wouldn't say that it's the ultimate though. The bread is good.

We totally forgot about ordering pizza. On our first visit most of the tables had pizza so we figured it must be good. Oh well.

I was hungry so i had rice. The Bourgogne Beef Stew was so tender i even ate the litid part! I finished everything in that yummy bowl. This is something i might come back for. Cute container too.

Hubby wanted something light. I didn't have the chance to taste his Bolognese but he had no complaints aside from the small portions of the food.

I liked the Tinapa Cream Cheese Cigars.

Items we tried the last time
Japanese Chicken Lollipops - skip this! Too sweet.
Salpicao - must try although portion was bitin
Chicken Noodle Soup - comforting and filling
Shrimp Po Boy - crunch shrimp sandwich, worth a try

Their sisig blew my mind. I would come back just for that.
Their version of Salpicao disappointed us but the sisig totally made up for it. Other food we ordered: shrimp, anchovy and arugula pizza is great to share and affordable. Samosas are tiny bite sized. Iced tea is good.

The Chori burger is to die for!!! Same great service and food as Myron's Place - but with a new casual foodie menu. Worth braving the traffic to Rockwell!

Presidents steam (500g at P2400) it was good but Mamou tastes better.

Also got callos which was a little too maalat.

Service was ok. Waitress even offered to replace the callos when we told her it was maalat.

Cozy ambiance if all the other restos are packed be sure to check Francos they usually have seats available 128513

We had their barcelona pizza, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, ultimate burger & barbecued spareribs.
Food were just okay. The pizza was really crispy but that's all I can recall. The tastes of the food were "forgettable"..
Service was fast though 128522

Hay naku. This was the Shrimp Po'Boy sandwich. I was expecting shrimp in cajun-spiced breadcrumbs topped or mixed with a good aioli. Nope. The shrimp was coated in bland breadcrumbs and it seemed like they slathered thousand island dressing all over it (horrors!!). The fries were the best part of this meal. 128528

I've eaten at Franco's several times and I find the food underwhelming (except for the burger, which was all right).
