They open at 7am. Ordered 1pc chicken and did not disappoint. It's crunchy skin, delectable taste with the yummy gravy is a hit!

Highly recommended. Try the chicken with donut! They serve good classic glazed donut made fresh!

How can one fail at making waffles? Their waffles tasted like bread. Bland. It didn't taste like waffle at all, sadly.

After a particularly grueling session in Yoga I wanted pancakes. Google told me about Frank and Dean. Intrigued, I went over for a lazy Sunday brunch all by my lonesome.

Here was the situation:
First, it was nearly empty
Second, my food took a while to serve (Sour cream pancakes + side of bacon)
Third, they already put syrup on my pancakes.

Rule: No one, is allowed to put syrup on someone else's pancakes. Why? Because it deprives you of eating pancakes the way you want to. There is a reason why all over the world, the syrup is on the side. F&D don't get creative with this.

The dish itself tasted good though... a bit too sweet, soggy and "nakakasuya" but good during the first 10 bites. Now I kind of wanna throw up.

The service by the way is lacking.
My food took a while and i had to walk up to the counter to get my bill. No one noticed when i waved my hand in the air like a crazy person just to get attention.

Sigh. Good I came from Yoga. Inner peace.

Spent the afternoon at Frank and Dean with Clarissa P and Mary Love S. The Beignets were meh but the Paprika Fries were good.

What made the afternoon more fun was their Common Ground event where they feature local music artists. 127926 Plus, they serve free coffee and pastries during the event. 9786

We had late lunch here and ordered their paprika fries, chicken and waffle, and salmon.

Paprika fries was bland. We couldn't taste the smokiness/spice of paprika and had to ask for salt. It was also a bit soggy.

The chicken and waffle was okay. The breading was seasoned quite heavily but it was crispy. The waffle was just alright. The syrup and gravy were a bit runny.

The salmon took a while but it was just alright.

We had the leftovers wrapped and when we got home, I realized they didn't include the gravy and syrup. Don't you just hate it when they fail to include the sauce or condiments that go with it?

Overall, the food was just so-so. It wasn't something special and even the service left a lot to be desired. It was hot inside the cafe and there were flies. They had to turn on the fan when they saw me bring out my abaniko.

The only saving grace was Vinz, one of the staff who waited on us. He had a big smile on his face and was very attentive. There were two others who seemed uninterested and all over the place. Vinz was a lot more helpful, responsive, and just seemed to really like what he's doing.

So are we coming back? Nope. There are other places at the same price point with better food and more consistent service.

I have always wanted to try Frank and Dean because of it's all day breakfast menu. Also, whenever I check their Instagram, I just can't help but crave for breakfast food. Their pizza and chicken & waffle looks good and tempting, too. But it's the bad reviews... 128529 They are always the reason why I find myself checking and going to a different place.

But because it was a very stressful week last week, we needed comfort -> Breakfast food = Comfort food.

We tried the Power Breakfast and Grilled Cheese Sandwich.

Power Breakfast (180)
- Toasts, Ham, Egg, and Banana. Power breakfast for less than 200! Sulit? Hmm, yes? Perfect when you want to have a complete heavy breakfast (aka Power Breakfast). Good but this is just like the ones we can easily make at home minus the "presentation".

Raclette Grilled Cheese (335)
The Grilled Cheese with a spoon of tomato/marinara soup was just okay.. nothing extraordinary. Would be better if there were more cheese inside. And for 335 pesos, this is not sulit. I can already buy a legit grilled cheese sandwich somewhere else with that amount. 128527

And then, we also tried the Homemade Glazed Donut (55). It tastes like the donuts we can buy at our local bakery stores. It was too sweet but my officemate liked it.

Service was good, though. The servers were all nice, warm, and helpful.

Had the choco ganache cake, blueberry cheescake, waffles and tried their cafe americano. Their famous waffle was thin and crisp but had a very strong aftertaste of oil, it was actually savory to say the least. Like I was having the famous pair of their chicken as well...? Loved it though, I'd like to come back and try more of the items on the menu 128522

Since my dinner date was running late, I decided to wait and check out this place. I love their Long Black and Paprika fries. The Long Black reminds me of Toby's but with a darker more exotic roast used and the fries were just coated with spices really well. The waiters were extremely attentive. I'm not exaggerating here! We barely took a sip of water when he'd be standing there again asking if we want a refill!

Tried Frank & Dean back in July when they first opened. I think I went during their first week which probably explains why their service wasn't on point.

Came here at around 10 PM and hadn't had dinner yet so you can just imagine how HANGRY I was. I ordered their waffle and their chicken with rice which set me back about 500 or something. I thought the waffle was pricey (considering there's FBW and even Waffos haha) but gave in because it might be good.

Twenty minutes later, my order was still nowhere to be found. I was about to just pass out and plop my head on their table when I noticed a good number of young girls (18-early 20s) dressed to the nines coming in and out of the place. With my jeans and flip flops, I started to wonder where I was. #hungryhallucinations

More dressed up girls and dudes walked around. Very short and tight dresses, heavy makeup, heels... Where's my food.

40 minutes later, my waffle arrived. Inhaled it as my chicken and rice came.

I don't remember much of it except that the waffle was good. According to my notes, it was crispy and soft on the inside but that it's pricey at 200 pesos. The chicken was also not bad but it was small and kind of reminded me of Bad Bird.

Overall, I think I'll try it again. Maybe wear flats next time and eat something small beforehand. Haha. Would have given them 4 stars but because of the 40 minute wait, I'll take one star off.

Oh and as for the girls - turns out there's a speakeasy on the 2nd floor!

Their signature food-buttermilk ang waffles was too oily for my taste and expensive too as it clocks in at 450 plus service charge!!

I ordered the eggs ben and a donut for brunch. Eggs ben was okay, nothing special. Their donut tasted good but microwaving it is a big No No. Their prices were too high though.

Disappointing visit. Not value for money.

Ordered their supposedly bestsellers: Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Mac & Cheese.

The 4-pieces chicken platter costs Php590. Chickens only without rice. It had too much breading and it wasnt anything special.

The Mac & Cheese was ordinary. Not cheesy enough.

The waitstaff needs more training.

Sorry, but not going back here.

Aesthetics were well thought off, but the food was nothing special. I ordered chicken and donuts. Chicken was a bit too salty for my taste and the donuts weren't consistent, one was warm and the other was a bit stale.
