Our visit in the area was for multiple occasions and Fresh was a big part of our plan. We were one of the first customers who arrived early and while seats were still unoccupied, I couldn't help but admire the interior. I've shot photos of the restaurant before but I was more amazed this time and took more shots.

My favorite dishes were (no particular order):

1. Salmon Sashimi:
- These are served upon request at the far right side of the buffet, where they seem to treat it like treasure. Every piece was so soft that they almost melt in the mouth. Dipping them slightly and quickly in soy sauce plus "chasing" them with wasabi completed the fun experience.

2. Bread Butter Pudding
- I found it addicting, fluffy, and tasty. I got some twice!

3. Roast Beef
- Passing by it the first time, it was still a giant chunk. After exploring the buffet, they had slices prepared near the chunk they came from. Meat was tender and tasty, enhanced by Peppercorn sauce. I wish I got more, but... self-control!

4. Pizza
- No frills and I loved the crust. I'm a crusty kinda' guy. :)

5. Ice-cream
- I totally went back and forth having vanilla, avocado, and cookies & cream. Third was my favorite!

Service was terrific! Ian, Mark, and Kenneth did a good job being proactive to remove dishes. Everyone was polite and smiling plus we were offered drinks at our table. Ordering lobsters was made easier and Ian let us try them with a special sauce that was deliciously spicy.

Compliments to Chef Guiller for a very satisfying dinner!

Compliments also to your staff serving salmon sashimi. He's very friendly! My apologies for not getting his name.

Disclaimer:
I was asked by Ian to make a review BUT everyone was already doing a good job before said request. Thanks to Ian for giving everyone's names. This is the least I can do to better extend appreciation for the restaurant that we do visit occasionally.

Thank you again and see you soon!

Had lunch here with my family last Sunday to celebrate one of my sister's 19th birthday. It's been a few years since we last ate here since we usually opt for Okada or The Peninsula for important family celebrations. It's great to be back though!

| FOOD

When it comes to variety, I'd say Fresh is the halfway point of Escolta (the buffet in The Peninsula) and Medley Buffet (the buffet in Okada). You get your usual buffet stations like Chinese, Japanese (fair warning though: they don't serve sashimi during the lunch buffet), salads, grilled meats, noodles, cold cuts and cheeses, Italian, roast meat, desserts, and even Indian.

For drinks, they have a limited selection of unlimited ones, such as the blue lemonade and red iced tea. Coffee and tea also come for free.

Overall, I liked the selection of the food. It's not overwhelming, which suited me just fine. I usually stay away from heavy meats during buffets though so I didn't try any of those. Another fair warning though: there are no seafood available during the lunch buffet service either.

Personally, what makes or breaks any buffet for me is the dessert selection. And I can honestly say that I'm very satisfied with Fresh's choices. They had cakes, cupcakes, ice cream, kakanin, halo halo, fruits, and other sweet treats. I must say that my favorite one was the cheesecake with a strawberry swirl. Lost count of how many I ate. Haha

| AMBIANCE

It's very elegant and I like how open and spacious Fresh is. We were seated at the area nearer to the shops and I enjoyed how bright and tropical-themed the area is.

| SERVICE

Excellent service, I must say. When we first got to our table, I noticed that the sunlight from outside would directly hit it so I requested for another table. We got it right away. Our used plates were cleared right away and we didn't have to wait long to have our glasses refilled with water.

The best part happened when my Dad, who can eat shrimp and lobster the entire time during the buffet, went looking for said seafood. So he was pretty disappointed when he found out that they don't serve seafood during lunch. But to our surprise, a chef came and gave us a bowl of grilled shrimp, mussels, fish, and other seafood. On the house. Awesome!!!

| THE SINGING CHEF

Every weekend lunch service, a singing chef (who btw has an excellent voice worthy of any singing contest... or opera stage) visits each table, chats with guests, and sings a song or two by request.

We got to talk to him at length and found out that his name is Chef Austin and he's one of the pastry chefs at Fresh. He doesn't work at the kitchens full time and he hopes to open his own cafe one day.

Don't be shy to ask for a song or two since he really does have an amazing voice. Really nailed it when he sang The Prayer. I think that he's a wonderful addition to the buffet experience.

Chef Austin, if you really are reading this (since my parents not-so-subtly told him that I'll be reviewing on looloo HAHA), I very much look forward to reviewing and writing about your cafe one day 128516

| PRICE

When we dined here, they had this promo where if there are three full-paying adults, the fourth person is free. We're a family of 6 so my mom old paid for five persons. I wasn't able to get the exact buffet rates but if I remember correctly, it's around Php1,600 something nett per person.

| WILL I BE BACK

Oh, yes. Definitely yes. Definitely on a weekend lunch too so I can hear Chef Austin sing again!

Ambience:
There's so much room for dine-in and the breakfast buffet got me all excited! The display of each food section was very enticing to look at and lots of healthy options were available, such as yogurt, gluten-free, fruits, and smoothies.

Food:
French Toast is on the top of my list, with each rectangular toast covered with what looked and felt like corn flakes. This can stand alone but I recommend trying some spreads.

Lengua was my 2nd placer because I rarely get the chance to eat this delicacy, and the fluffy texture and flavor were too addicting to say no to. Some might hesitate to try it because of what it is, but I suggest tasting it anyway and judging it from that point.

Maki options were so-so since I felt the ratio of rice to other ingredients weren't balanced. If I want to get full on rice, it'll be with something else.

A lot of other options were available and I tried my best not to have too much Lengua. Mission Impossible! I passed on Yakisoba, cereal, yogurt, noodles, and omelette.

Service:
Staffers were great! They took out empty plates pretty quickly!

So, I shall hopefully return? :)

My overnight stay in Solaire comes with a complimentary breakfast buffet at Fresh. From the restaurant's name itself, the food served all throughout the day are fresh. I love their wide selection of dishes, from Western to Asian cuisine as well as gluten-free food and their fresh juices. I got myself a typical Chinese breakfast (my favorite).

The staff were also very amiable and accommodating, they would greet you as you walk around the buffet area, and come to your table to offer coffee before you even ask for one. I had an amazing experience here.

This marks my second sponsored event this year (me doing my awkward happy dance). I guess the foodie gods figured that I’ve been nice last year and decided to reward me with a sponsored dinner at Fresh International Buffet. Yeah, I get to strut my stuff at Solaire.

I am completely in awe of Solaire – both in a good and bad way. The good lies in the posh interiors, the bad lies with the number of people spending dough on gambling. Personal opinions aside, Fresh is sitting comfortably at the ground floor, I didn’t have a difficult time finding it, go straight and turn left and voila, the inviting signage greeted me and invited me to come in.

The place is huge and has beautiful interiors. High ceilings, excellent lighting and posh furniture. I caught a glimpse of the various station that displays mouth-watering dishes. One of the chefs gave us a tour and explained what they have to offer on each station. Did you know that they use fresh pasta? Uh-huh, pasta made by hand, baby. This got me giddy as I am fan of anything pasta.

Note: I will only review the stations I tried.

Carving Station. This comprises of fowl, pork and beef. I tried the ribs and boy…I was impressed. The meat is moist, juicy and seasoned well. I skipped the chicken and the beef. Some of the patrons went with the latter; I guess the beef is good too.

Pasta Station. You may ask the chef to make the pasta of your preference. I was too lazy to think hence I opted for Carbonara. I steer clear away from any kind of pasta with white sauce – it is not that I don’t like it, my love for aglio olio always gets in the way. The Carbonara is not as photogenic as I hoped for but it delivers in the taste department. There were generous servings of ham and bacon and the sauce is seasoned perfectly – I taste subtle hints of cheese mixed with the smoky flavour of ze bacon. Let us not forget the start of the show – The Pasta! You would instantly notice the difference between the hand made x fresh versus the packed ones – the consistency of the former is way better.

Seafood Station. How does lobster sound? Yeah, you heard it right, they got lobsters, huge ones! Unfortunately, I am a part of the demographic that has a neutral feeling about the luxurious crustacean. I tried one of the steamed ones and it’s mediocre. This is a case of the chef overcooking the meat hence the gamy texture. They made it up with the lobster pasta and the ones cooked in garlic butter, I tried a small portion – Muy Caliente!

Japanese Station. I live and breathe for sashimi. Nuff said.

Antipasto Station. Various appetizers for people who dig Italian grub. I love the mozzarella x tomato salad – light and refreshing, The Pomelo and pork salad is equally good too. I love how the citrusy flavour of the pomelo compliments the pork.

Note: the other side has fresh greens and various vinaigrettes. The other side offers various Filipino appetizers like ensalada, kilawin (ceviche) and lumpia (deep fried spring rolls)

Dessert Station. Wee! Everything looked so pretty. The prettiest of them all is the fruit tart and the infamous Solaire Chocolate cake. This station is divided into three – Pastries, Ice Cream x Fondue x Pinoy Pastries. The French Macarons are decent (not as awesome as TWG), they managed to make the exterior delicate and semi chewy. The ube mousse is the shiz! i cant fully fathom how awesome this is. I guess you have to try it for yourself. This is one of those case wherein I am dumbfounded and all I can say is “Basta masarap” The ice cream needs a lil improvement as I find the texture too dense and too icy.

Refreshments. Diners get to pick their poison. Would you prefer red, white or sparkling? Red please J I consumed three glasses. Cabernet Sauvignion from the land down under and a Merlot form Italy. Their fruit juices are awesome too – I picked the Elderfower iced tea.

Other stuff they offer:

Filipino Station
Chinese Station (roasted duck, hot pot and dimsum)
Bread Station
Korean (limited to Korean pancake and galbi jim)

Dinner was fantastic. 80% of the stuff I tried is delicious. Service was impeccable, Aldrin attended to all of our needs – refill of drinks, change of plates and he did all that with a smile.

I shall close this review with “When having buffet doubts, go to Fresh, it is worth it”

Can be compared to the upscale buffets!

Wide selection of food and they are to be taken seriously because the food is seriously good (just know what to choose), nice staff!!

Desserts are themed when there's a special occasion and they're just too cute! I remember a heart shaped sushi last valentines! Love that they have sugar-free desserts too and a wide selection of fruits.

The charcuterie section is also commendable.

Ask for california temaki because they do not display it! Also you should ask for risotto (whether it be chicken and mushroom or etc) too (it's seasonal) because they make it good!

Just last night they had a german theme so we had unlimited choices of alcoholic drinks. Had the champagne. As I can remember, rate was more than 3k last night. Sausages were really great and the bread pudding with plums, I love!

Not a fan of buffet's but I do enjoy it when ww decide to go. It's only my second time here and good thing they've redeemed themselves this time from our first sad experience here of going to an almost choice less buffet 128514. This time, they do have quite an overflowing amount of prawns and there were sea mantis avail, which is our ultimate fave. The problem is,, it's not as Fresh as the restaurant's name. Plus it was served uncooked. I mean, I Eat sashimi and ceviche but when you bring boiled, half raw and tasteless seafood to me, we're not onto a good start. I feel bad it went to waste since the chef didn't prepare it well. The lobster we had seemed frozen too and the meat was a bit smelly and fishy too. As for the jap choices, it was bleh. The sushi rice wasn't even good. The dessert was okay though, they had good cake and mostly were creme based. Was happy they have good strawberries for the fondue though. One funny incident was when bf requested for a "soft cake" and we only figured what it was after asking a server what that was, which he didn't know either just like the chef who made it for him but also had no idea what he was serving. Anyway, there were more miss that hits here and it's not a good buffet to wrap it up and total waste of money I'd say.

Our friend gave us some free voucher to dine here. I am the typical "takaw tingin" when it comes to buffet. That is the reason why my husband refuse to dine in buffet restos since it is not sulit since I only eat small portions.

Anyway, it was our first time to visit Solaire and really enjoyed having pictures from here and there.
The Fresh is almost at the end of the building so you got to see the casino and some restaurants prior reaching Fresh.

As soon as we found our seat, I surveyed what's good to grab first then go and get my plate. I really love seafoods so there was a lot to choose from. My favorite smoked salmon which I was craving for sometime got my attention and got back thrice to savor the goodness.

We only had water as there was additional cost if you ordered juice or wine. Had a free coffee after eating a very sumptous meal. A bon appetit indeed!

I'm a type of girl that's not so sulit when it comes to buffet because i don't eat that much 128533. But since my friends invited me for a free buffet dinner, i'm like "ugh, why not?" 128514128514

To make it more sulit, we chose lobsters and prawns.. i asked them to cook it with butter and then, hola! Superb 128077128514. Another plate for us! Although, the kitchen staffs is quite unattentive since we repeat our request thrice.. On the other plate, we got their roasted beef, steak and sushi. My friend always remind me not to eat rice so that i don't feel "busog agad" and enduring the pain is the hardest thing to do since i do eat a lot of rice than the "ulam" haha. Anyway, good strategy because i ate a lot and I guess my buffet dinner is sulit this time 128521128582.

They also offer other cuisine like chinese, japanese and filipino. They have a desserts section but ate just a small quantity since we focused more on seafood, meat and then fruits.

Standard hotel breakfast spread found here. My favorite items were the yogurt, muesli, egg white omelette, fruit shakes, and the chocolate donut! 128077 I'd also like to give a special mention to their fresh orange juice. It was quite refeshing and had the right balance of citrus and natural sweetness. Good job! I refilled my glass several times! 128515 Other than that, the breakfast buffet items are what you'd typically find in other hotels.

Love the bread and cereal choices here. This time I had a fiber-rich bowl of cereal -- corn flakes, all bran, dried apricot, raisins, almond slivers, pistachios, walnuts... Soooo yummy good! The yoghurts here are quite filling even if they look like small cups/shot glasses... The juices are fresh (yeah! OJ!).

I always get the brown bread with pistachios and other nuts plus butter (unsalted butter? Really? So I put salt on mine LOL).

Of course, the crispy bacon is my all time favorite meat here. This time around it wasn't so crispy but still the right saltiness.

Nothing like eating a great breakfast early in the morning. The aircon was still effin' cold (freezing) and the coffee decent.

Service was great because it was early. The manager here is very pleasant. Usually when it's mid-morning, servers are like headless chickens at this place.

Spiral still kicks butt as far as breakfast options is concerned...
