Pasta and pizza. If that's what you want for a food trip, Friuli is where to go on Maginhawa Street. We tried three their bestseller pizzas, and we say they know pizza by heart. They also got some pasta, appetizer, and dessert that won't fail your delicate taste buds.

MUST-ORDER PIZZAS!
The restaurant's bestsellers are worthy of a standing ovation. Thin crust, 10-inch pizzas that fit your budget.
1) Formaggi, a tasty cheese pizza that boasts a rich flavor of mozzarela and cheddar (P200);
2) Margherita, with the distinct taste of garlic and herbs (P195);
3) Viva Venezia, which has ground beef, mushrooms, bell pepper, and olives. (P225)

PASTA:
For pasta, we recommend the creamy tuna and mushroom pasta (P125). For the red sauce lover, angel hair with putanesca is the perfect choice. (P145)

QUICK BITES:
The toasted raviolli (P145) and cheese stick (P150) are also good, although I would prefer the cheese stick to be cheesier than more of dough and bread crumbs.

I was surprised that with P1000, you can already throw a party for a small group, thanks to Friuli Trattoria. The cute restaurant was easy to find. And it's busy almost all the time. When we went, that was about 1PM, both the first and second floor were full. I took it as a plus because that means we're not eating in just any pizza place, but one that has built a name for its food.

The interior is simple, tables and chairs, but what it lacks in space, it conpensates for the food. Overall, I give it a 5 especially that it offers so much vaalue for your hard-earned money.

Two words: AFTER EIGHT

Seriously, though, don't hesitate to have After Eight after your pizza (I highly recommend their Margherita). That's all. :)

Nowhere to eat in Malingap during lunch time. Mostly at Z Compound which is our first choice was close. So we ordered All Meat Pizza for Php155 and Tuna Mushroom Pasta for Php125. Fairly enough.

The place was hard to miss amidst the other restaurants along the food street as their signage was easy to spot.

They have about 2-3 parking slots if I remember it correctly.

The interior was simple, chairs covered with checkered green (some were red) table clothes. This a no frills resto. A place where university students can have a decent lunch or dinner at an affordable price.

We got the angel hair spaghetti Puttanesca. I like mine really sour from the fresh tomatoes and olives (Italian-style) so this was a let down for me. For those who like the sweet Filipino-style spaghetti, this might be tolerable for them.

For pizza we got the Tre Formaggi. The liked the pizza dough, not too thin, not too thick and was soft. I hoped that it was a bit crispy on the edges though. As for the flavoring, I hoped it had more cheese.

Overall, this is a budget friendly restaurant especially for students and those a bit tight on budget. This is not a place for fancy dining.

Finally, ma-gin-ha-wa!

We were craving for pasta+pizza and we ended up here!
The place is not that attractive but air conditioning is okay.

Staffs are approachable and servings are big.

And, yes, welcome back to me. Lol

Spag ala carbonara and half and half of 3-cheese and pepperoni. Creamy carbonara! Very saucy. 3-cheese, delicious. Pepperoni... Became a marinara. Haha! At server was kind enough to apologize when we pointed out that she got our order wrong. Instead of requesting to correct it, we just pushed through with the marinara. At least we got to try something new.

Abby M and I ordered spag ala carbonara and half & half of their 3-cheese pizza + pepperoni.
Accuracy of order: uhh instead of pepperoni, marinara was served to us. But since we were in a good mood, we did not ask them to change the marinara with pepperoni- we just enjoyed the food (ehem ehem very noble customers! 128519).
Quality of food: spag ala carbonara is great; it has bacon bits, and it is creamy and slightly cheesy. 3-cheese pizza is killer! The blue cheese gave character to the pizza, while the mozza and cheddar gave off the middle and end note flavors, respectively. Yum! The marinara is okay- though lacks other seafood flavors.
If not for the service mistake, i would have given friuli a 5-star. Good for them that the marinara tastes decent!

This was the first place in maginhawa that i've ever visited. It was last year after our civil service exams and as far as I remember it was also the day of pacquiao's fight. We didn't know that almost every shop that day were closed and lucky enough, we found this place.

I'm a pasta lover and friuli for me is a must try in my list. I tried their carbonara and mozarella sticks (sorry, i have forgotten their names in their menu). Their servings were big enough, and sadly, I'm not really hungry that time. But since we don't want some leftovers, we really finished it.

Their service is not really good, or maybe because their main chef is not yet there and we're just stupid enough to go restau hopping while pinoys champ is having the fight of his life. Who would want to miss that, right? Anyway, we let it slide because their place is airconditioned and they do have a tv.

All in all, I like this place and will surely go back here if I got the time.. I must do some restau hopping again in maginhawa. 128523 #foodtrails

One of my go-to places in Maginhawa. The food is delicious and really affordable. Haven't tried all their pizza flavors yet. Their pasta dishes are also yummy. Their servings are also good for 2 people. If you want to feel Italian but you don't want to spend so much, this is the place for you. The place pretty much becomes crowded during dinner esp. on weekends. They have a simple but cool place. The staffs are all nice. Also parking is small. But overall, this is definitely one of my favorite Maginhawa resto.

I've already been here two years ago and I didn't like the food at all. I thought it was just some overrated pizza place :(:(:(

But when I came back yesterday, I wasn't disappointed. The service was okay - not bad but not extraordinary. The place was okay, but when I go up the steep stairs I'm like 128517 Also, the tables were too small that we had to put some of our food in a small chair. Tsaka everything was really delicious pero I was slightly hesitant to eat because the food quickly became cold :(:(:(:((

Okay so here's what I tasted among the things that we ordered:

1. The Spaghetti Carbonara (one in the pic)
- Two years ago, I had an unsatisfied face as I ate the pasta. There was something spicy to it, and I hate spicy. But when I returned, it was very good 128076🏻 It came with a generous serving of bacon on top of it + it was creamy but not too creamy. 5 stars na sana, pero it was served kind of cold :(:(:(

2. Some pizza
- I forgot the name. No, I didn't know the name, because my parents ordered for me while I was across the road, looking at books in Bookayukay. All I remember was that this pizza had a lot of meat and mushrooms... but it was so good that I had three slices of it (which is a miracle since I don't like pizza unless it's Quattro formaggi) 4/5

3. Ravioli
- I didn't expect this to be good. I was kind of hesitant to eat it. But when I finally did, 128149128149128149💯💯. It was like a deep fried taco sprinkled with cheese. Yeah. It's good. 3.5/5

4. Mozzarella sticks
- They're huge and cheesy. They tasted like regular mozzarella sticks. Nothing special. 3/5

5. Tomato soup
- Only thing I didn't like. This may sound weird, but it tasted like my mom's sinigang I sweaaaaaaaar. 1/5

Mehehehe. Would come back again. Definitely would recommend. It's more delicious the second time around kasi eh yaaaaaay :))))))

For pizza, we ordered half Margherita, half 3-cheese. They were good--crust, flavor. For pasta, we had Tuna & Mushroom, and Pesto. I liked the Tuna & Mushroom more, Pesto was just okay.

From the outside you'll see it's just a small place, dimly lit, really nothing fancy. But this visit was last month and the server said some renovations will be done after Christmas. So, I'm not sure how the restaurant looks like now.

Verdict: TRY THIS SOMETIME

The nice thing about fruili is that their prices are cheaper than the rest. You can be satisfied with 380-450php+ worth of food for two pax.

Pizza flavor that i would recommend is their Margharita pizza. Basic but flavorful and juicy if done right and taken out the oven at the right time. 190php-285php up per pizza.

For the pasta, everything else is pretty much equal nothing really stands out. But theyre good depending on what you prefer white or red sauce. 150php-200php+ up per pasta.

Don't bother trying the appetizers especially the fried raviolli

This is a place I'm sure you will want to go to again and again. The food is excellent, interiors are warm and cozy with the checkered tablecloths and the Italian themed decor.

Mozzarella Sticks
Your usual deliciously cheeesy. Very cheap, for 6 pieces of mozzarella sticks and an ample amount of tomato sauce.

Margherita Pizza
has slices of fresh, tangy tomatoes, fragrant basil, and spicy garlic that provided a sharp contrast to the full-flavored cheese.

The thing with Friuli's pizzas is that you know just from the first bite that they certainly do not skimp on the quality of their ingredients and that every dish is given much thought and effort to give you the best experience.

Despite this, their prices remain affordable, with their whole pizzas at around the Php 350 price range. Definitely worth it!

So if you do happen to drop by, be sure to try them out! 128077
