This is one of the most established restaurants in taft. You will feel safe here as it is just beside fully booked, tucked in between the bookstore and the bank.

Have been dining here for a long time already. It's always nice to visit as they maintain the cleanliness of the place and the ambiance.

Only thing about the food I had recently is that everything was so dry. Especially the chicken teriyaki don. Lacked sauce we even had to ask for some!! Ganjou roll is also dry. Driest meal I've had for a long time.

Nevertheless, I am giving it a 2.5 because I've known this place and I enjoy their food especially before my most recent visit. Wish they'd add more sushis/makis to their menu.

Service is good!

As a university student, I'm always on the lookout for new restaurants to try that are nearby school. During breaks, we are often undecided on what and where to eat. Good thing there's Ganjou where I can satisfy my Japanese food cravings. It's located just across the Henry Sy Hall Bldg of DLSU-Manila, at the GF of Torre Lorenzo 2.

I'm sharing to you my favorite buy here, their best seller Ganjou Roll (P120). It's a deep fried sushi roll with tuna, crab stick and cheese. Yup you heard that right, deep fried! I think it has the same batter with a tempura so it's weirdly good.
But you can't take a bite without it's impeccably tasty dip. I'm not sure of what mixture it is but it really works well with the sushi roll. It's one of my go-to lunch meals because it's budget friendly and worth the money. :)

Currently on Christmas break already so I'm just sitting here and craving for it right now. It's probably the first thing I'll eat when classes resume!

I really wanted to get Gyudon but it was a Friday huhu so I ended up getting Tendon (3 piece ebi tempura rice bowl) and my friend got us Torpedo and Ganjou rolls to share. The tempura was just okay. And I still really don't like sushi... No no no! Not for me! 128581 but if I really had to, I prefer it be fried!

The place was clean and cute tho and serving time quick!

Ordered the katsudon (pictured) worth P120. Affordable, good flavor, fills your stomach but does not make you too full. Tried the California crunchy roll worth P105 for 8pcs. Good price but dry and bland for me but it is crunchy on the outside, good texture.

Would I come back? It's alright if you need affordable Japanese food in Taft but I wouldn't go there all the time. Place gets full easy.

Ganjou by Omakase is a cheaper version of Omakase. I admit their offerings are not as stellar as Omakase's - but hey, check their prices! Their rolls cost from 95-105 php only compared to Omakase's 200-300php. That's a steal! 128522

So we tried the following:
Gyudon (135 php) -sauce was good. But the beef slices were "bitin". Ratings: 3/5

Katsudon (120 php) -it was just okay. Filling. Ratings: 3/5

Tendon (140 php) -3pcs of shrimp tempura and veggie tempura. It was okay. Reasonable for its price. Ratings:3/5

California tempura maki (105 php) -We thought it has a shrimp on it since there was a tempura on its name, but we were wrong! (Haha sorry, when it says tempura, I always think of shrimps. 128514) It was a normal california maki fried in a tempura batter. Anyway, it was good. I'm still satisfied with this one. Ratings: 4/5

Ganjou Roll (105 php) -we liked it! It has kani, tuna and cheese on it! It really went well with their special sauce. 128522 Ratings: 4/5

Good to know that when I crave for a decent japanese food, there is this place i can easily go to and that will not make my wallet cry! Hahaha

The more affordable version of Omakase 128513

Met with my cousin for lunch and I suggested that we eat here. We love Omakase so I wanted to see if this is also a good japanese restau. 128522

We ordered :

128019spicy chicken - 4pcs. Of chicken- it's like a buffalo chicken but lesser sauce 128513 it's good though.

127843127845 ganjou roll and torpedo roll- both very yummy. For Php.105 /roll it's actually very filling.

127834 tonkatsu- my cousine liked it- didn't rave about it but she was able to finish it so maybe it's good 128522128077

Visited Taft the other day and I just had to check Ganjou out! Apparently Omakase now has a baby sister. Or brother. Whatever 128514

Ganjou by Omakase serves affordable yet still yummy Japanese food to cater to the student's budget.

We got two of their best selling rolls - the Ganjou Roll and the Torpedo Roll. The Ganjou roll had salmon, cheese, and was deep fried in a tempura wrapper if I'm not mistaken. I liked the Torpedo roll better though cause I found the Ganjou roll too cheesy. The Torpedo was their version of a spicy salmon roll. I wish it was a bit more spicy though.

I was initially supposed to give this place just 3 stars, but for each roll at just P105?! How can I complain! 128514 These Taft students are lucky!
