I so wanted to try more of the healthy choices they offered but ended up getting this octopus thing (I forgot what fancy name it's called lol) as an appetizer to my the beef burger. Yeah, you can prolly judge me in making #lifedecisions now 128517. Anyway, I liked this stuff. Tasted very simple, uncompromising and basic to my palate which is good if you're looking for something to just fill you up without the fuss & if you're not really hangry. Next time, I'm getting another raw dish and a salad from them. Next time. Next time. 128523

I've only tried the Bahamas fruit juice from this HITW food stall127865It was good and refreshing although it didn't taste like fresh fruit juice. It tasted like kool-aid. Good thing their juices aren't expensive. Maybe I'll try the salads next time 128522

"This is an oasis in the deserts of hole in the wall" this is from a healthy eater's point of view. Amidst the oily and fried, fatty, grilled, sweet, and high-cholesterol food here in HITW, there's a healthy option! And because it is found also in the center of the food hall, you could consider it holy... Sacred.

They just offer three kinds of salad we ordered

128204128525 friache or the Korean octopus salad.
Big bowl.. Yeah, serving too.
It got romaine, purple cabbage, radish, sesame seeds, green onion, lemon, carrots and generous serving of octopus. Its Korean twist is the spicy kimchi-like base, so those who are afraid of chili just take a good precaution.

128204 Bahamas
Cranberry with lemon juice
Was not able to try this though, but i got a feedback it just tastes like cool aid. Lol

I wish they could add more options for salad. It was affordable in a sense.. Total for salad is 302pesos. Plus a hundred bucks for the juice. 128527

My choice for dinner on a Sunday - SALAD! Feeling healthy, I opted to find out what the buzz about Garde Manger was all about. Another food venture from Chef Miko Aspiras, this stall offers all things fresh! From salad to drinks - everything is made from fresh veggies and fruits!

I tried their Korean Octopus Salad.

The serving was filling but I wish there was something more in it to give it some other texture. Coz I kinda got really tired munching and munching the crunchy mix of crisp lettuce and red cabbage chopped into strips - more like ready to be wrapped in a roll. Other then lettuce, there were carrot strips, bean sprouts, black and white sesame seeds and spring onions. They also added some orzo, which is a soft pasta that looks like rice grains but bigger, which absorbed the Korean dressing Gochujang. The dressing was a little spicy but it was savory and had bold flavors. It went really well with the tender chunks of octopus. A drizzle of fresh lemon made this salad bowl more interesting. The citrus kick added a lighter note to the rather heavy dressing.

Quite interested to try their fresh juices and their Sisig Salad next time 128522

There is a new kid at Hole in the Wall called Garde Manger that offers diners healthier but flavorful eating. I'm liking their Sisig Rilletes Salad and I'm loving their Gluten-free Muesli Cookies.

Garde Manger's Sisig Rilletes is a delicious oxymoron of a fresh tasting salad dish. It is "healthy" yet "unhealthy". Fresh greens, minced fresh bird's eye and green chilis, radish, candied pili nuts, shaved cucumbers & radish, cherry tomato, topped with slices of rilletes made of Sisig Pampanga. The sisig was nicely formed into a delicious garlicky pate-like roulade. The dressing was delicious. The salad was tossed with a tarty-sweet vinaigrette with minced sweet shallots and further drizzled with a garlicky aioli which pretty much complemented the sisig rilletes. Serving size was hefty. Perhaps the only flaw was the lack or absence of the nutty texture and flavor of the lentils which I expected based on the dish's menu description.

Their gluten-free Muesli Cookies are definitely heavenly, healthy-sweet endings. Crunchy, crumbly, dense, thick muesli cookies coated with a gluten-free rich dark chocolate glaze on one side and and natural yoghurt on the other. The grainy cookie has a delicious undernote of orange which perfectly complements the chocolate glaze. If I am not mistaken, Garde Manger commissioned that talented pastry chef from their neighboring cookie shop in HITW to create this healthy and yummy treat. If all cookies were these good and healthy 128525

Garde Manger comes recommended to foodies looking for flavorful and healthy dishes.
