I've been seeing this donut place since forever (four years in a college near Robinsons Manila + I still live in the area haha) and I only had the chance to try their donuts yesterday.

Each donut costs about 30-40 pesos, depending on the flavor. I got the choco-almond donut since I figured that would be a safe first choice. 127849 Taste is not too sweet, which is okay for me. What is really striking is how chewy (almost gummy) the donuts are haha. It was really weird at first but some people might like it. Apparently, they're like that because they use mochi dough in these things?

Pretty okay experience, but I don't think these donuts are something I would really crave for.

What I like about Gavino's was the doughnut itself minus the flavors, it's chewy. In terms of flavors, it was ok. I tried their Greentea Cheesecake and it doesn't taste greentea or cheesecake.

I would have given it a five-star rating had I been in absolute denial of donut's lack of nutritional value. It's five stars in terms of taste. Their donuts are chewy and not to sweet. I crave for their red velvet donut with lots of pistachios and their choco with almonds.

Japanese donuts and mochi anyone?

We tried the red velvet donut and the cake reminded me of Dunkin's choco butternut. It was not too sweet and tasted just right.

As for the mochi, wifey liked it so much that she bought 6 pieces to take home.

I was so tired from shopping I don't have the energy to think of what to get my sister as pasalubong, so I just bought Gavino's .. Hehe..

This time with picture. :) as soon as I got home I sliced and tasted everything (hahaha.. Parang di naman pasalubong for sister haha).. I just wanted to try everyhing for my review's sake. Haha..

On top of the pic.: mochi balls- almond something with cream( my fave!! So sweeeet) it has white choco an almonds on top and sweet cream filling inside; the venetian the chocolate with white drizzle on top has a bavarian filling; choco lava well, chocolate overload yummm!

Bottom: (not in order) red velvet w/ cream cheese and pistachio-'twas so-so.; chocolate with almonds (yum!); chocolate w/ rice crispies (not the real name but let's call it that, shall we? 128521) it was good too. :) oreo and cream (the one with crushed oreo topping- so-so; triple chocolate -good :)

Well, the flavors in general are just okay BUT it's the doughnut's kunat (haha) that keeps me coming back.. 128516

First, sorry for not posting a picture, my siblings ate them all already. :( next time... Hihi

I first tried japanese doughnuts last year at the world trade christmas bazaar, it wasn't gavinos though so it's a different story.. Haha..

Going back to gavinos, japanese doughnuts are quite good and it's a different take on doughnuts 'cause it's makunat- in a good way ..Haha.. When buying here, I prefer their mochi balls- NOPE they don't offer like real mochi I think they call it that 'cause of they look like it. Hehe. It's their doughnut rolled like a mochi ball with different fillings :)

I had hazelnut and almondo/amondo haha.. Both very delish. Ordered choco lava, peanut butter, and I forgot the other two haha.. I really wanted to try it all but my nephew was enjoying it too unexpectedly so ayon.. Haha. Next time:)
