We were on a trip to Banaue, Ifugao and we took a stop here twice, going and coming back to Manila. It was one of the few decent stops on the way. They have a retail store offering Nueva Vizcaya's version of thin and creamy Buko Pie and other treats, an air conditioned restaurant serving Filipino cuisine and a nice clean restroom.
We had a feast here but I was able to take only a few shots of our food. The best one among a long list was their Catfish with Green Mango Salad. It was crispy good with fresh sweet and sour mangoes in light fish sauce dressing. Also a favorite was Spicy Squid with Gising Gising. This one had a nice kick of hotness. Its squid was cooked just right and the vegetables were unbelievably tasty. We also had classic Fried Chicken, which was bland, lacking seasoning. Their Bangus Sinigang, was interesting though as it had ingredients of a typical Bulalo as well.
For a final stop, we had their Halo Halo which can serve two people. It took awhile to serve and unfortunately wasn't worth all the wait. It had too much ice and they were huge chunks even. The only thing upside about this Filipino prized dessert is that it was placed on a fresh buko shell.
