This airport is so old.. hopefully they will renovate it.
And the place is so hot.. even inside the departure area..
Sad but true.

I don't have much to say about this place. General Santos City is very hot! Averaging at 36 degrees this month and to top it off, their airport has no air conditioner when checking in. It's a good thing I already checked in online. It gave me a fast pass to the boarding area which is already air conditioned! Going in, you have to remove all your gadgets from your bag which is also a total hassle especially when you're carrying your laptop, phone and tab. Restrooms aren't also sanitized and water wasn't available. There were also no ATMs on site, so always bring cash before going here! Looking at the bright side though, the flight wasn't delayed. Thank you Philippine Airlines! Off to Manila 9992

For someone who visits this airport at least once a year, I have observed how much has changed and these changes were for more improvements I am happy about.

For now, I think they have to improve more on the air conditioning units in the pre-departure area. GenSan is named the hottest spot in the Philippines, so more AC units or perhaps a centralized one will really be a lot of help for waiting passengers like me.

Putting ACs in the checkin areas would be nice also! As of now, they bombarded it with wall fans which somehow did its job fairly. High ceiling area was not too hot for me. 128512

I hope to see these improvements when I get back soon.

Airport is old and small. Time for an upgrade. Limited space around the baggage carousel. The toilets were not that clean. 128078🏻

Had a safe flight.

But beware to the porters and taxis they tend to ask a high amount for fare. Better yet, ask someone together with you in plane, for more information before landing to our land. 128514

This time I travelled with my bestfriend for our bestfriend's wedding held at Green Leaf Hotel. The airport was clean. But has limited option to buy for pasalubongs. Surprisingly the prices for food pasalubongs were not that expensive unlike other airpost pasalubong centers.

Terminal fee: PhP150

Tips:
1. There's wifi but a bit slow.
2. Courteous and helpful airport staff.

The airport is clean. Around the airport and in the check in area, you will find several stores selling frozen fish, which you can bring home with you. They will pack it in styrofoam for you.

The departure area is clean and houses alot of seats. It is air conditioned. However, there is no smoking area in departure area.

Typical provincial airport. I didn't have the chance to use their restrooms so I don't know if it's clean or not.

A nice alternative/option if you plan to go to Davao but there are no more Davao-bound flights or seats ran out or if you're looking for cheaper flights.

Last June, I enjoyed my business trip to GenSan. I was able to explore for a bit and had a grand gastronomic adventure.

The airport was a letdown though. Their xray scanners were down so everything was done manually. We were a group of five with one to two pieces of luggage each. It was soooo time consuming. Upon reaching the gate, there were not much food choices too.

Airport still looked the same. I thought they were trying to improve it? Disappointing.

I'm way too generous for giving them 3 stars. I don't like their airport. Very small, no coffee shops and etc. The place was too hot and jam packed.

I'm surprised to see that most reviews got 2 stars. I mean yeah there's no cart and it's too small for an international airport but this one will sure favor all backpackers. Besides, you don't really need a cart since the check-in counter is like 10 to 15 steps away upon entrance when departing, same goes when arriving - from the baggage carousel to the cabs.

Unless you're like relocating or having a grand vacation and got too many stuff, then you need help from the Kuyas already. It won't hurt giving them P10-P40, it's their official "hanapbuhay" and it's decent. They are nice too!

It's simple, your bags will be checked, check in your baggage, you wait, board and fly. The routine is actually faster than in our airports here in Manila.

GENSAN AIRPORT

Arrival: I was able to go down the plane and walk to the airport in just 5 minutes. I was able to get my baggage right away!

Departure: I was able to check in my luggage with no sweat and with less line (thanks to web check-in). I had plenty of time to shop for goodies and souvenirs since the stores are very near. Waiting was ok since there's TV with local channels.

GenSan: No traffic, wide roads. Distance like Pasay-Pasig will only take 15 to 25 minutes.

MANILA AIRPORT

Departure: Still found myself waiting in long lines though already web checked-in. It took us more than 10 minutes to reach the waiting/boarding area. No TV.

Arrival: From the plane, it took us a freaking 15 minutes without carts (realize the difference) to reach the baggage carousel. Imagine the real hassle going through the escalator.

Manila: Super traffic. Pasay to Pasig it took us 2 hours with a P300 cab fare!

P.S. Minus one star because the terminal fee in GenSan Airport is now P100 per head! It used to be P40.

For an international airport, it is quite small. They only have 1 luggage carousel. And not free carts. You pay 10/luggage if you ask a porter to help you out with your things. Since it's a small airport it's not hard to find your way. I believe that they should fix the airport more especially the arrival area.

Haggardo Versosa 2013.

Because of the Cebu Pacific incident at the Davao Airport, all flights were rerouted to General Santos Airport.

So, to come home yesterday, we rode a van (others rode a bus... all at their expense) to General Santos... it took roughly 3 hours. 128531

When we got here, it was super crowded!!! As in!!! Imagine, all the passengers for flights DVO-MNL and elsewhere were there! 128560

Their airport facilities were bad too! They didn't use electronic scanners (they had some but they weren't working...). They had police officers go through the luggage one by one! Stresssss!

I over heard a guest say that their Davao to Kalibo was changed to Davao to Manila to Kalibo. Yikes! 128534

people are nice but the place is just too small. you cant have a cart without a porter. according to the information desk the carts are owned by the porters. 128531 it was my first time to go to an airport without their own cart. 128514128544128561

the only thing i liked is the free wifi and the cheap pasalubong. 128077

Magandang Gensan! 128031128131128515

You go here to wait for your flight then go.
Simple, right? 128522

Terminal fee is Php 40.00
There are no push carts so if you need a help for your luggages, ask the porters to assist you but of course you have to leave a tip. 128513

I miss home. I miss tuna! Oh yeah 128515
