This has got to be at least the 10th time the guys and I in the office have eaten lunch here. It comes as a craving from someone who came from a bad meeting or is just having a series of bad days at work - so, what do you do in those situations? You eat lechon!

I discovered General's lechon before from someone's house party. At that time, it was purely by delivery only. This is just a small stall on the 2nd floor of the gas station. Since its mainly a take-out business, seating inside is probably for a max of 8 folks.

Our order this time was 1kg for 4 folks. Pretty generous but 2 among the 4 in the group seriously don't care about their health or has a really good metabolism so they didn't mind eaten more than their fair share. They even agreed that instead of dividing the meal bill in 4 that it be divided by 6, so they pay "double." 128517

Skin has always been crunchy, meat tender and garlicky. The best part has always been the portions by the belly and the shoulders so we always ask for those areas. It's "bad" that the cashier already knows me so I can just send an sms and they respond if there are still seats and if they still have lechon. This is still the favorite in the Metro, more than Elarz for me. 128076

For a place that only seats about 15, General's Lechon proves that size doesn't always matter. At first glance, you are taken aback by such small place, it's easy to miss but hard to be forgotten. This family-owned restaurant gives you everything you want in a new 'Lechon dining experience'. Delicious roast pig, great service, and to top it off, reasonable-pricing.

The owners of this place sure know how to cook their pigs properly. Most of the time, when I order Lechon, the meat is super dry and doesn't have much flavor. It's a different story here. General's Lechon's Lechon (Roast Pig) had a nice brown, crispy coating to it like the kind you see at Chinese restaurants. The meat was tender and juicy, yet still crisp with a lacquered finish.

The accompanying sauce is the standard Lechon sauce (made with liver) but they also have spiced vinegar for dipping. You can tell by the looks of their sauces that they were made fresh and not from a mix.

General's Lechon uses high quality suckling pigs and they roast them to pure perfection. They offer various roasted pig specialties such as the Original, Garlic, Chili Garlic, and Curry.

My personal favorite is the Chili Garlic Lechon. Even my friends can't stop raving about how good it tasted! The meat was succulent and juicy. The spices seeped into the meat and made every bite flavorful. Their Lechon had the crunchiest skin that I could almost see the palm trees and smell the ocean every time I bite into it.

We also tried the Conchinillo that was stuffed with Curry flavored-rice (rice had raisins, bell peppers, and chunks of potatoes). The rice was fluffy and well-seasoned. The rice actually reminded me of my recent trip to Thailand. I was told by the owner, Bryan Ong, that this stuffed suckling pig was roasted for about 1-2 hours. How they keep the meat of the pig really juicy and tender amazes me.

General's Lechon also offers homemade garlic Longganisa (pork sausage). Their Longganisa is packed with garlic (which I loved) but fair warning that your breath will be potent in the hours following this feast.

Servers were very friendly and accommodating to our party. This location is the kind of place that you just pick up your food and go. Although now, they already have a few tables set-up for customers who want to dine in and enjoy their food right then and there. It's hard to find a great Lechon store near the Makati Central Business District so this place is a true gem.

I will most definitely be coming back for the sinfully good, Chili Garlic Lechon. So, what are you doing? Reading reviews on Lechons, I bet. Mistake. What you should be doing is driving to General's Lechon right now. Go ahead and try it out. You deserve it. ;)

Cheers,
Mickey

Crispy& juicy lechon..We ordered their 1/2 kilo garlic lechon at lunchtime. We were lucky to get one of their few remaining lechon cuts for the day because a few minutes after, another customer wanted to take out a kilo of lechon cut and only 1/4 kilo remains for him. I thought it was a little bit pricey though because cebu lechon and cagayan de oro lechon also tastes equally good at a much lower price.

Sinfully good lechon! Skin was crisp, meat was tender and easy to eat. For a small place that's mainly a take-out joint - delivery guys were going in and out.

You choose from garlic to chili-garlic and curry flavors. A kilo costs 850 while a half kilo costs 450.

A whole pig of about 10kg is 6500. Perhaps for the next company wide event.

Yummy Lechon! Really value-for-money. You don't have to buy a whole Lechon to taste an authentic Visayan lechon.

Another hole in the wall just because it's right beside my other favorite hole in the wall restaurant, Va Bene. The best pork ever (in the world) according to Anthony Bourdain - although this time it's not from Cebu but from Negros Occidental. I failed geography so I couldn't say anything more about the province except that they do know how to roast pig! 128523128076 I know lechon is very personal and people kill if one says a wrong thing about it but I like this one better than the Cebu kind (ok shoot me now 128299) only because I like it garlicky. The inside is filled with more garlic and is less salty. Just right just yummy!

I think I finished 1/4 of a kg of lechon all to myself! If I don't watch out I'll be next on the roasting pit myself!

I went to General's Lechon again this afternoon and ordered the lechon and the paksiw lunch package which each had a cold drink. Unfortunately, they didn't have cold Pepsi regular. And I don't drink Pepsi Max. So we ended up with Root Beer.

Fortunately, the lechon was really good, and even the paksiw was tops! The skin was crunchy and the meat was tasty. But they should invest in a microwave oven so that the lechon is served warm.

But you can tell how in demand their lechon is. It was just 3pm and they had served the last of the lechon to us! The latecomers had to satisfy their hunger eating pasta at the next door place. FIVE Stars!!!!!!

For me, this is the best lechon in Manila! Both the garlic and original flavors are recommended. I prefer their suka to their lechon sauce. The lechon can also be eaten on its own since it's tasty.

I wouldn't recommend dining in their branch since the smell of garlic is pungent and overpowering. Better to take it out.

Ordered 2 whole lechons for my son's baptism and the guests loved them!

Different? Yes. This isn't a Lydia's lechon lookalike. They serve a crunchy tasty lechon that will give Elar's (with an "s" not a "z") a run for its money. I dropped by here when EDSA was chockful of buses and traffic. I was pleasantly surprised. It was good food. The traffic was so bad, though, I ended going to the massage parlor at the Petron station and wasted another hour before trying to make it home!

Some of the best lechon I've ever tasted, and it's in Manila!:o This is Negros lechon, and General's has the flavor of Cebu lechon plus a garlicky kick and an even bolder taste. Juicy and bathed in a satisfying amount of garlic oil. The 1/4 kilo at 300php is quite a sum for the amount you get, but it's so good you'll forget everything:3 The staff is very kind. I got a 1/4 kilo to eat at the restaurant and when it was so good I decided to buy another quarter to take home, she took the initiative to charge me for a 1/2 kilo rather than a more expensive two 1/4 kilos:") Amazing customer service. Back to the food, I can only imagine how much better the pork skin would taste freshly picked from a hot whole lechon. 128055128022

Definitely not your ordinary Lechon house like Rico's, Lydia, CnT and Zebuchon. Their best seller, the Garlic Lechon is something new to my taste and surprisingly i find it very tasty. We also tried their Lechon Mongo and paksiw. Manamit guid!

Ended up eating here because Va Bene was closed 128557 And to my surprise they are closed for good upon checking looloo?!? 128557

Anyways, back to General's Lechon review.
Upon entering, i was irritated by the garlicky smell. Don't really want to eat here but since hubby insisted, no choice but to go with the flow hehe

We ordered their meal (1/4 garlic lechon, rice and a drink). Chose tropicana buco juice which is a mistake. Doesn't taste like buco juice. The lechon is good but no wow factor for me.

I love garlic but not to the point na ang sakit na sa mata 128546 teary eyed tuloy parang may LQ lang with hubby haha. That's minus 2 1108811088
