When I arrived there’s a long queue outside Genji M., the way people line up to get to a posh club, or to see a film in a theater, or to wait for their turn in a public restroom. I thought there was a blogger event, I was after all, had been invited by my blogger friend. Turns out those people were there to avail of the 150-peso buffet promo.

Food selection is of course limited with the 150-peso deal but it was okay. If you are a big eater though this may not be for you, unless, you know how to wrestle your way among the throng of hungry people. I tell you it was like a battle field, people pushing each other to get to the food, Hunger Games style.

They threw in some Japanese and Korean food in there, but I noticed that there’s more of the latter than Japanese. The food was okay, I did the mussels with mayo dressing, those meat dishes, and of course the sushi. The highlight of this buffet thing though for me is the popcorn. Yes, you read that right, the popcorn. They have a little popcorn machine and I think I went just a wee bit crazy making my own popcorn.

we availed their p150 unli sushi buffet promo (until sept. 7 only) and i think it would have been 'sulit' if we went here earlier than 1pm. i would give their sushi 3 out of 5. it was ok. the rice kept falling whenever i take them using my chopsticks. hahahaha!

This is actually my 2nd time eating here, and so far I am pleased with their service. They quickly assisted us with our table.

I did hear a number of bad reviews about this place. Luckily, I never got to experience this first hand.

My family availed their promo buffet (inclusive of sushi, rice meals, drinks, ect.) for only Php150 per person! (Promo until today only though 1285149996️) I only got all sushi, since I'm not a fan of their rice meals.

Feel free to ask me any question in the comments below. I'm just too lazy to give a full review for this place lol 128514

Php200 for sushi all you can! Not the best sushi and rolls in town, but you can't complain with the price. 128077

we had a hard time looking for the place since most of the people around makati doesn't know where is genji m. even the guards and some traffic enforcers.

the food is just okay. sulit for their promo of 200 per head in an eat all you can sushi rolls. that also includes some of their japanese dishes, a glass of iced tea and a soup.

The buffet is worth it, I suggest you go every 4:30 to 6:30 pm cause it is happy hour in Genji-M which means all buffet choices are discounted for almost 50%, if the food you like is not in the buffet table you can request it in the sushi bar and they will make it for you without extra charges. The miso is a bit thin, my japanese friend said that it tastes like miso soup in Kobe where he lives. They also serve few Korean meals like Japche and Spicy squid.

My first time eating at Genji M was for the P100 unlimited sushi promo. I ate with my family and my friends.

I understand that cause of the promo, we'd have to wait for a while but when the tables were already cleaned, they didn't even bother letting people sit. The receptionist kept saying "We're still preparing the tables" but upon inspection, you'll see that all the tables were already prepared. They just took forever to seat people! Whatever system they have should be fixed. (Also, Ms. Receptionist didn't give me a glass of water after I asked four times during our 1hr and 30m wait. Talk about helpful? Her excuse: I'm assisting the people who are having their names listed. What she was actually doing: staring into space.)

The unlimited sushi kinda took forever. They set out trays of sushi but when it's out they took forever to refill. People were literally waiting by the table for the sushi and when it came, it was all "Hunger Games" mode.

I guess for P100, that's what you get. I can't imagine eating here and paying 499. Crazy.

I'm not sure I'll be coming back to Genji M. My mom said she won't be going there anytime soon so I guess that rules out dinner with the fam there. Maybe with friends, but not any time soon.

Unlimited rolls, sushi and sashimi at a reasonable price. Want to satisfy your cravings for japanese food? You can never go wrong with this place. They have quite a variety to choose from -- of course they would have california maki, salmon and tuna sashimi, octopus, samgyeopsal and bulgogi rolls (yes, this is a japanese/korean resto) and a whole lot more.

At the start, you'll be served with various rolls from which you could choose which ones you'd like to order later; but there would still be a lot on the menu which may not be included in the "free taste". Just be careful not to order so much than you can actually consume because they have a 10% surcharge for leftovers.

Unlimited rolls cost around php400, unlimited rolls + sashimi is at php 800 while unlimited rolls + premium sashimi is at php1,500. Plus you can have bottomless iced tea by just adding php 50. If you're coming with a group, just make sure that you agree on which unli promo you would like to avail because they would not allow you to have different orders (to discourage sharing). But if you're not having the buffet, they still have a lot of korean and japanese dishes that are worth trying. Also, dont forget to print a voucher/discount coupon (please see Genji M's facebook account for details) before you visit the place so that you'll have a php250 discount.

Ever since Genji M advertised their unlimited sushi and sashimi I've been wanting to try it to be utterly disappointed. This was by far the WORST Sushi and sashimi that I've ever had. To start their sauce soy was not kikkoman but probably a cheaper korean knock off. When you get their unlimited sashimi for 799, they serve you a platter of different sashimi and sushi. You cannot pick which ones you like. The sashimi was not fresh at all, it had these fatty parts and the cut of the fish itself was just wrong the salmon sashimi was like a butterfly cut. The sushi was just plain bad, all of then had spam/ham. If I wanted kimbap it would have been different but no.. The sushi rice was also not authentic. The best thing we tasted that was also mediocre in comparison to other restaurants was their chapchae. To make matters worse, at the middle of the meal, one of their chefs came to our table and told us not to eat too fast. Frankly, even with the 250 coupon we had, it was a waste of money. They also have hidden charges, so better watch out for that.

Perks of living near an unlimited sushi place. 128077

Finally ate here with my cousin (after several failed plans with friends) for dinner, and I'm supposed to give it five stars, but I wasn't able to eat as much as I wanted to (matakaw) because my cousin got full after one round. 128529128514

(The one in the picture is half, if not, most of what we -- mostly me, actually -- ate.)

First of all, I loved its very Japanese-y ambiance. The food is pricey, but unlimited sushi and rolls for P499? Inclusive of one iced tea and a bowl of miso soup? Why not! 128513 I also liked how they give you a checklist of their available sushi and rolls, and you write down what and how many you want to order next (max. of 10 per type).

Plus, Genji M currently has a "less P150" promo from Monday-Thursday (not sure until when though) just by printing the voucher found in their Facebook page.

Their other unlimited bundles are unlimited sashimi (+ sushi & rolls) for P799, and their premium one which includes a grill for Korean meats for P1499.

(Sidenote: I don't know why others said they had bad service and gave bad reviews. The service was fast and fine with us.)

While I'm a vegetarian, I still have a weakness for sushi and a good 'ol Salmon sashimi - at least for one last time before I completely give it up - and the best way to do it? An eat-all-you-can sushi buffet. Plus, I couldn't let the month go by without trying their 250 peso off coupon. (Ends end of May, ladies and gents.)

My best friend and I got to Genji around 6:30 PM, I tried calling to reserve at 11:14 AM (they open at 11) and they said reservation has been cut off already. When we got there, the place was still a little empty and I thought we would wait for an hour, but we were there for 5 minutes and we got seated. #lucky

We got there in time for their dinner service. For the first round, Genji M will have their chefs give you their sample platters - sushi, rolls, and sashimi. It's supposed to be their best sellers and a way for you to try out their dishes so you know what to order during the next rounds. You don't need to finish all of those. It was pretty good - except the rolls. I don't know in what world it should be allowed to have spam in a sushi roll. Maybe it's because I don't eat meat, but that totally caught me off guard when I ate it.

We did 3 rounds in total, and here's what I've noticed. The first round was obviously the best one - since we got just when dinner has started, the sashimis really tasted fresh. By second round, the tuna sashimi was ice cold frozen. By the third round, the squid sashimi was very rubbery already. It was obvious to us that it's not fresh anymore, maybe cause of the time it's been out. (So I was happy we got there at the start of dinner, I don't know how fresh the seafood will be if we arrived later than in the evening.)

Let me tell you about the baked tofu sushi that I was really excited about - my eyes lit up every time I see tofu on the menu. (Who goes to a sushi place and gets excited with the baked tofu? I do #vegetarianproblems) The tofu was OKAY. It was sweet, like I'm sure they out a bucket of sugar in. But needless to say, I ate 9 of those, so it was pretty okay.

The house tea was enjoyable, until we were on our third cup and it was pure black that tasted like diluted coffee. It was obvious that was already the bottom of the pot. I don't know why they served that.

My friend and I ordered the unlimited sashimi that comes with the sushi and the rolls for 799 pesos and our final bill with the service charge was around 1760+, and with the discount it was around 1260+.

Overall the experience was okay. The service was great considering they were only a few of them, they tried to be friendly, but I don't think I would go back there again.

✅ smoked salmon (favorite!). fresh sashimi. Eat all you can sushi & makis for P300/head when you use the P250 coupon)
❎ ordinary rolls. too much rice per sushi. #Kargadormode Maybe that's their strategy so you'd get full easily. :|

I only had around 10 rolls. My friend had around 20! Sulit with the P250 coupon but i don't think i'd spend P500-600 for this. I'd rather go to sambokojin for my money's worth.

I've heard about Genji M from their aggressive online advertising-- unlimited sushi and rolls! Who wouldn't want some of that? Anyway, along with my foodie officemate, we checked it out today.

The place looked okay: clean, and sanitary-- with the permeating smell of bleach. (128552)

Anyway, the food was overwhelmingly okay. Nothing too grand, or disgusting. Just very, very normal. If you're a fan of buffets and eating a lot, I guess it'd be worth it.

(Bonus tip: the fatty salmon sashimi is about the most delicious one on the menu. )

(Pro tip: Print out one of those voucher bad boys from the internet, and you can get 250 off per person! )

But in the end, I don't think I'll be back there anytime soon.

No plans of going back.

The place isn't that big. Lucky if you reserved in advance. You'll have to wait for a long period of time if you don't.

They increased the prices of the sushi and maki all you can and the sushi and sashimi all you can by a hundred this May. So, if you have the less P250 coupon, it's like less P150 only.

If you're getting the 499 sushi all you can, masusulit naman kasi may less 250 coupon.
799 for the sashimi and sushi all you can, I don't think it's worth it. I still paid more than P600 for the later even if I have the coupon. 10% service charge is based on the original price. Just go to Sambo Kojin or other buffet places with japanese food, at least there, you can get your own food- how much you desire; and there's way more options.

Got the 699 local sushi n sashimi buffet, service is bad that's why we weren't able to get our money's worth, food was so-so though. More of a Korean style sushi than Japanese

What is DEATH BY SUSHI.

Treated the parents here with my first sweldo ever. And the bill ate my first sweldo ever. Haha!

But we got the 1,499 buffet option and it was overkill, the availability of the food and the free flowing of food just when you want it. It was awesome.

Highly recommended for the sushi, maki and sashimi lovers that just can't can't can't get enough. Haha. Much like me. It was awesome the boat of sashimi (photo) I fell head over heels in love with.

Very fresh and very good. Could increase their choices of maki but when you get there you'd be somewhat thankful with their no frills no complications menu. Also drinks are not part of the initial buffet payment but the prices don't seem so bad.

Service could be better but that was made up by the 250 pesos off per person cupon. Haha.

All in all it was a tummy fulfilling dinner.
