Went here for a few bottles to cap the night last Saturday. We actually had no choice but to go here since most of the bars we went to (like Rue Bourbon, Giligan's) were either closed or fully packed. We got few local beers and tried the Kilawin. I actually didn't try the Kilawin, but they thought it's good. This was actually the most decent Gerry's branch I've been to. Too bad they close at 1am.

They also sang a lively and unique birthday song to the birthday celebrant, Paula P and gave her a free plate of Leche flan! Yay! 127874

Went here last Sunday. This branch is currently under renovation but i dont think it's a good excuse not to have locks on each cubicle sa cr nila. 128078

Their service is also super bad. It took them like 10 minutes to give us our additional order of 1 cup of rice!. When we asked for our bill the first time, super tagal na wala parin so we asked a different waiter nalang.

Medyo smelly rin yung place that time. 128078

This branch is so huge and beautiful. Mas maganda pa sa Starbucks! Hahaha! We were supposed to drink at Rue but it was packed. Lahat ng puntahan namin fail, yung iba closing na! 128514 We only drank few bottles kasi pasarado na din sila. So, nag Pansol na lang kami! 128514 Wait, sarap din ng Kinilaw? Kilawin? Basta! Hehehe

Thanks for coming Justin J & Russel F! I really had fun with you guys!

PS may free leche flan ako + kinantahan nila ako so plus star. Hahahah

The place is really cool- ambiance, place, overlooking. However, the service is poor and dissatissfying, the service crew may be tired but they should still smile, they also need to learn how to anticipate the needs of customers.. Comparing to Gerry's grill in Artesia, CA, this place is substandard. The foods are not very appetizing as well. Anyway, I still recommend and take the risk. I didnt see any supervisor or manager making rounds. :(

Do not be fooled by the long wait list, try to check first if place is indeed full.

When my family went there for a 3PM lunch, i was surprised with the very long wait list. While waiting to be seated, I walked around the restaurant. I was surprised with what I saw: an area with lots of uncleaned tables, enough to seat everyone on the wait list and some more!

Ten minutes later, I checked the same tables, untouched. Five minutes later, I checked the area again, one of the crew started to pick out some of the dishes, with his one hand. I approached the one of the attendants at the waiting area to point out what is happening. Yup, there are two attendants in the reception, and not one of them thought to help out or see to it that uncleaned tables are ready for the next ones in the list. She wasn't bothered, and kept on listing newcomers to the wait list.

I waited for a few more minutes but the tables are still uncleaned. When I asked the manager what was happening (politely, but with firm tone), he wasn't even apologetic or understanding, his approach was very defensive! I specifically told him that I am not sure which one to blame for what was happening, is it their crew or their system of service? But since he was very defensive and close-minded in his way of talking, I didn't try to continue with our conversation because I knew my efforts to provide feedback would go nowhere. After a few heightened exchanges of words, I decided to cut the discussion and sit to calm myself.

Not three minutes later, the wait list started to move faster, and we were finally ushered to our seats. But not in the area where I saw the uncleaned tables, they seated us in the veranda overlooking Taal; an area which I originally thought was for somebody who reserved those tables! I saw this area unoccupied even before the whole ordeal, but didn't mind pointing out because I thought it was reserved (remember there was already a long wait list when we arrived). Are those tables reserved for disgruntled customers who are trying to point out what was wrong with their service?

If you are in Tagaytay on a jam-packed day and are starving, I strongly suggest you stay away from this restaurant. With my experience, it seems that the crew is complacent with their less than average service and wouldn't care at all if they are giving decent treatment to its customers. It is Gerry's after all, and you know the food is great. But a restaurant's food is only the other half of what's important, it's the great service that should always come first.
