In my attempts to get over my preference of red-based sauces to white ones, I ordered the Lemon Mushroom pasta: fettucine in cream and garlic with mushrooms and parmesan. The side of lemon failed to cut through the creaminess of the dish and it got way too cloying for me but I guess other people would appreciate this better than I do.

Still curious and would come back to try their pizza and perhaps would stick to a red-based pasta next time.

I remembered when Gino’s took the pizza world by storm when they first opened in Katipunan area. It was a refreshing change of the usual pie, and the add-on of spiced honey changed the game.

Last night, together with my girlfriend’s aunt and uncle, we traveled Makati to brace the traffic. After minutes of looking for parking, we settled at their quaint shop in Bautista corner Tordesillas. The place can fit around 30 people, it was cozy and well maintained.

We got Summer Salad to start, a leafy bowl with prosciutto, pine nuts, parmigiano reggiano in sweet and citrusy dalandan dressing. For mains, we had hefty portions of pizza and pasta each. Yep, it was carbs night for all of us.

Each one of us preferred a different order over another. I personally liked their best selling tasty SMEGG pizza, consisting of homemade sausage, mushroom, eggs, gouda and cream. We also got Bianca Verde, filled with garlic, kesong puti, ricotta, parmesan, basil and arugula in extra virgin oil instead of the usual tomato sauce. I don’t consume the crusts usually but this time I did, as long as I have it sprinkled with spiced honey.

The plates of pasta we shared, classic Carbonara and Pesto also impressed us. And did you know that one can actually request for a noodle you fancy? We got tagliatelle over spaghetti for these.

For the final stop, we grabbed only one of three desserts they have. The Crack Pie, which is made of mostly of oatmeal, eggs and sugar was quite a decent ending for just Php 85.

When was the last time you had Gino’s? Let me know your story, buzz me up!

PLACE:

Nice and cozy.

FOOD:

SMEGG: This is actually quite good. I just thought it might be better if egg's yolk is still runny. Their honey makes it so much better.

Bacon Gouda: This is really GOOD-ah. Hahaha. There's a generous amount of yummy bacon ( Yes, bacon with translucent fat on the side. Haha) Put some honey on every bite and you would surely love this. Their honey is like a love potion. It makes you love the dish so much.

PRICE:

Quite pricey but kinda worth it. (Thanks to their honey hahaha)

SERVICE:

Friendly and accommodating staff.

VERDICT:

Did I enjoy it? -Yes
Will I recommend it? - Yes
WillI come back? - Yes

I super love their salted egg pasta!! The sauce was perfect and the touch of our traditional famous filipino 'staple' makes it extra special. Their pizza was also delicious because of how they made their dough (hand-stretched i think) and baked using brick oven!! Yum! I really love their unique yet mouthwatering flavors!!! It all surprisingly taste so good together!!!

Rare makati trip! Rode the P2P for the first time and visited my friend at her shop at Alfaro place. Such a great location cos everything is walking distance! Was so excited to try Gino's cos it was my first time 128522
Arrived there before 6 and there were still a few tables left. Can't eat at Gino's without getting their burrata yeah? So we got that, the SMEG and aglio olio pasta. We also got a carafe of their dalandan juice.
Food was served quickly and service was prompt as well. The burrata was tdf! Smooth and light and fresh! The pizza was also quite good! The pasta arrived last and though it was good I though the serving was quite small.
We were done in 30mins! Would love to go back here with hubby so he can try it out too 128522
Total bill was around 1200.

A friend just came back from Singapore and was looking for a place in Makati that is new or he hasn’t tried yet. We ended up in Gino’s in Salcedo Village.

⋆ SALTED EGG PASTA [PHP 225]
I la-la-love this pasta!! ♥ Whenever people would suggest that we eat at Gino’s this is on the top of my order list. I cannot go to Gino’s and not order this. The pasta is homemade and you can tell it is because of the difference in thickness. The grainy texture of the salted egg is there and the bacon bits give it more flavor. ♥ I really love it.

⋆ SMEGG PIZZA [PHP 475]
A pizza with homemade sausages, mushroom, gouda and cream with egg half cooked spread across the pizza. If you love eggs, this is for you! You can actually slice through the pizza and have the yolk be oozing out. ♥ Put on a little of that signature Gino’s Spicy Honey and you’re good to go!

My only problem with their pizza is that the toppings don’t stay on the pizza crust very well. Everything kept falling off…

Pizza is always a good idea. Back to Gino's for their awesomely good pizza. We got the Bomb for PhP415 which was insanely good. It has mushrooms and balsamic onions plus blue cheese. For the pasta, we had the salted egg. He doesn't like salted egg in general, but finished almost half of the pasta.

Hey hey hey!
It's my Birthday month so I decided to give myself a treat and went to Gino's Brickoven Pizza with my boyfriend yesterday.
I've been recommending this restaurant to him ever since I was able to get a taste of it around 2 years ago. Haha!

I was a Production Assistant back then and when I was told to order a take out at Gino's, I almost ordered every freakin flavor since I'm going to be feeding 20 hungry people. So technically, I already had a taste of them all, if not most of their flavors so I decided to come back cause that FIRST EXPERIENCE was so good I had to share it with my boyfriend the 2nd time around 128523

Went there at 8/9pm in the evening on a Tuesday. The place wasn't so full so we easily got a seat for 2. Yey!
The ambiance is nice. They have dark orange walls and yellow bulb lights which gave the restaurant quite an intimate feel.

Onto the food:
127837 Salted Egg Pasta P210
Everyone's just raving about this pasta so I had to order it. Besides, Salted Egg Chips are now a thing so I got more curious how salted egg would taste in pasta form.
I LIKE IT. I like how simple and sophisticated it tastes at the same time. The salted egg gave my tongue curiosity. At first parang nagaadjust pa, thinking hmmm is this delicious or what? Di ko maintindihan. But then habang tumatagal, lalong sumasarap. LOL. Blunt siya at first for me but plus points for the Bacon Bits which made eating it more enjoyable and tasty!

127829Smegg P450
Being a lover of anything topped with eggs is seriously a struggle cause I easily became biased when I saw this Pizza. Di ko pa natitikman, masarap na agad siya sakin. There's something with eggs that make pizzas look sexier and more appetizing. Would you agree?
I am so happy na masarap pa rin siya, just like how I fell in love with it 2 years ago. Naalala ko pa noon, sabi ko babalikan ko to, it took me 2 freakin years to try it again and it didn't disappoint. No wonder it's a no brainer to be on the top of the list to try if you're a first timer here!

127829Bomb P405
We had a hard time picking the second flavor cause the others were almost the same na. Got curious about this Flavor since most bloggers ordered this the second thing after SMEGG. It was okay. The Boyfie liked it better than the smegg but I didn't. The balsamic onion kinda gave it a sweet sour taste which I didn't enjoy much cause I really hate savory and sweet being mixed together. But thanks to the Blue Cheese it made the pizza better. The umay feels lessened and tolerable na yung sweetness.

127865Calamansi Juice P150 (Pitcher)
Thanks God I ordered their Calamansi Juice. Their drinks are quite expensive. Their Iced Tea is Hella P250 (Pitcher) and that's only good for 2. The boyfie is a lover of Calamansi Juice and taking it from him, he thinks that the P150 we paid for it is worth it. Light lang yung sourness and made everything balanced.

They have this signature condiment GINO'S SPICEY HONEY which reminds of fishball sauce with a thicker and sweeter texture. Masarap siya and when I got a little umay already on the pizza I was adding this, sarap!

Forgot to include that one order of Pizza is only good for 2. I can even finish 1 order cause it's just 6 small slices. 128523 Good thing I brought someone with me so I was able to try another flavor. For those of you who plans to visit this place I suggest you do reservations ahead since the restaurant is just small it can be jampacked during peak hours.

Craving Satisfied!!!128525

I love their SMEGG pizza and their salted egg pasta is 128525!!! I don't really have much to say other than that... 128517 You should also try their spicy honey!!!! Really goes well with the pizza.

First time trying out their nutella soup as well. Since I was a bit sick at the time, I didn't had much. But it was really good!

As promised, I came back for more Burrata! 128525

I was supposed to eat dinner at Mendokoro Ramenba after my walk around Salcedo Park, however the place was full so I decided to walk around again and ate at Gino's instead.

I wanted to try the Ricotta Cheese and Bread but I noticed at the back of the menu that the Burrata can be ordered by itself, so I switched and ordered it instead. The server recommended that I get some bread as well to go with the cheese. I also ordered the Salted Egg Pasta which I really loved from last time. I loved that the pasta is freshly made and I can really taste the salted eggyness of the sauce 128077🏼128077🏼

Sure had a great dinner after finishing everything. Would come back again to try the SMEGG pizza next

Thank you again Lark C and Ruth D for introducing me to this place

There's a restaurant in Megamall I used to go to with my family more than a decade ago; back when Ortigas traffic wasn't so horrible and when it wouldn't drive a person crazy just waiting to get inside the parking building. Anyway, that restaurant was Angelino's. It suddenly disappeared but I will never forget their appetizer that I really loved.

Imagine my surprise when I learned that one of Gino's owners is related to the owner of Angelino's. So when I went back, I made sure to check every item on the menu. And there it was... the Angelizzas. Crispy wrapper, beef, cheese, chopped tomatoes. Man, it looks and tastes exactly the same as how it did more than 10 years ago! 10084

Thank you, Gino's. Thank you. You have no idea how happy I am to have found Angelizzas again. 🤗

Another throwback review for the week. I just can't keep myself from giving a good review for this place since I really loved their Burrata128525

Lark C and Ruth D invited me to join them for dinner at Gino's. Although I've been hearing and reading about this resto already, I never had the chance to pay some visit.

We ordered the Summer Burrata salad which was really really really good. I love cheese and the burrata made me feel like I am in cheese heaven. The citrus flavor of the dalandan dressing was perfectly paired with their prosciutto and burrata. The Salted Egg pasta was also delicious and had a unique taste which I love.

Another special order which we had was the Angelizzas which brought back some of Ruth's precious childhood memories (almost same with how the critic in Ratatouille was almost in tears after tasting his meal).

Would definitely come back for more Burrata. Can't wait!
