We went to Resorts World just for their Matcha Festival. We expected a space occupied by all participating stores in one area, serving different matcha dishes, but we were wrong. There was a directory found on the ground and second floor listing all the stores serving matcha items and what these are (I think there's one per store).

I saw the picture of this fried matcha ice cream and found it intriguing. It looked like a whole bun stuffed with matcha ice cream and just sliced open.

We went to Ginzadon for this dish. We told the lady at the front desk that we were just going to have the fried matcha ice cream, and she invited us in. She confirmed with us if we were just going to have the dessert, and I said yes but also borrowed a menu since I was curious as to the other dishes available. The prices here are NOT cheap!

One server then approached our table and gave us appetizers. I told him he didn't have to since we were there for desserts but he insisted that it's complimentary. We didn't touch these appetizers.

Then my order came. I'm not sure how I'm going to react when I saw my P180 dessert. It was a small scoop of matcha ice cream in fried toast drizzled with chocolate syrup and colorful sprinkles. SERIOUSLY?! This is a dessert for kids! Even I can make this dessert! The taste was okay as a whole but what's bad is I wasn't even able to taste the matcha. Oh and my total bill was P205 (they have service charge).

I expected something more like the wicked oreos, something different, something MORE. Instead I was taken to a cooking workshop for kids. Waaaah. Sobrang fail.

A Japanese-Korean restaurant having a lot to offer but apparently, it's just another pricey restaurant that is forgettable.

The photo here was my personal order-the Warm Salmon and Green Lettuce Salad. It was so plain as just salmon and lettuce, nothing special. The other food we ordered were fine but I was expecting a kicking and distinctive taste that would wow me, that would have had marked Ginzadon at the heart of my food memory. But for each order I could identify other restaurants that served it better. Well.

My favourite restaurant in Resorts World!!! I ate here twice in a month! Their yakitori tastes amazing! Soft and their sauce is amazing/ malasa 128539
Their servings of tempura udon are HUGE. I crave for their tempura all the time :-( (any) Japanese restaurant experience is never complete without ordering salmon sashimi oh gosh it was so good I have no other words to describe its perfection HAHAH!!
I also love their rice!! :-)

They also serve Korean food but we always go their for their Japanese food :-)
Pretty pricey, though! If I remember correctly, their gyudon costs 950 pesos but it's a huge bowl! I don't order it anymore because it's very filling, won't have any room to eat their other food haha!

I also like their appetisers / starters or whatever you call it..- they're very generous! We asked for extra dilis and kimchi hehe.

Wife treated me last night to ginzadon. First time to try it and I gotta say it was very good! Restaurant was pretty full and we had no reservations so we were lucky that someone just finished and we were seated right away! Phew
We started off with complimentary appetizers, small bites which were delicious, they even have extra fried dilis because they know my wife who is a regular and the staff knows that's her favorite!
We ordered :
Regular sashimi platter: awesome! They were fresh, plump and sweet! They ran out of uni so they gave
us extra sets if fish. It had tuna, salmon, snapper? Octopus and pickled mackerel! Very nice
California - uni roll. Huge! Loved the uni part! A great dish!
Okonomiyaki- Japanese pancake! Delicious! But we were so full we barely touched this one!
Chasu ramen- a very regular ramen, very good but nothing compared to the ramen houses in the city. Skip this one!
Overall a great restaurant! Very expensive because your in a hotel! Cheers guys!

Fresh sashimi, good food, variety to choose from. Menu japanese plus korean food. That part for me is quite weird. If ordering steak teppan remember to ask them sauce on the side to enjoy the real meat flavor.

Spicy tuna salad: less sauce ask them separately if needed more
Chahan
Sizzling australian beef teppan: yum
Yakiudon: liked the traditional one - not ketchup-y taste.
Sashimi: 128077
Spicy roll: 128077
Chicken kariage: 128076
Tempura: 128076

Price: $$$++

A Japanese restaurant within Maxims hotel just across Passion. It's pricey but the food
Made up for it especially the maki's and the Kobe beef which I really liked. Globe signal in this part of resorts world was 0 during this time which made it hard to communicate if you has to meet up with people.

Ok, so I saw good reviews of this place and tried it out together with my sister who came from Australia.

Well, for one definitely, I know that the price of the food will be costly as expected so there's no big issue for me on that part. What I hate about it is that their service is really bad. There are 8 waiters (cause we're still here as if the moment) and not one of them are attentive to the needs of the customers. We had to ask for water thrice before they serve it. It took them around 30mins just to process the bill.

Not coming back here. The food is nothing great. There are more Japanese and Korean restos around Metro Manila that I would say that's far tastier and more delicious that this.

Last night's dinner with the executive committee of the Engineering College Government was held here. Had Ebi tempura that's really worth every penny. It's not the ripoff-ish size that you usually get from Jap restos. Or maybe we got the Ebi Fry? Haha! I'm not sure but the size of the "shrimp" was like a tiger prawn's. Also got their Unagi No Kabayaki (eel in teriyaki). The best eel that I've had thus far 128522

This salmon maki was so good, why haven't i tried this before? I usually get the one with unagi on top but this one was equally good but half the price. Still a bit expensive, but considering the portion and the flavor i'd say that it's worth every bite.

Service:
(1) attentive crew kept on refilling my tea; water came late / nice professional demeanor
(2) food came in batches but intervals are a bit long considering the restaurant is 1/5 filled only
(3) enough crew to go aroumd

Food:
1) tastes ordinary; nothing special
(2) presentation is ok - modern / looks fusion
(3) grilled shrimps were not tendered - overcooked

Ambience:
(1) confused interiors - is it korean or japanese; korean song playing in the background
(2) the crew's attire looks like a street fighter attire
(3) the soundtrack can be improved the ambiance of the place doesn't match

Over-all: OK

Menu offers Japanese and Korean dishes. Their Korean appetizers were good, don't know of it's refillable though like in other Korean places. Ordered their bibimbap and it was superb!!!

Ginzadon at Maxim's Hotel serves both Korean and Japanese food. We decided to eat here after reading about it in the papers. Turns out some hotshot chef is in Manila, and he is bringing his specialty, Mandu, (korean dumpling) to the restaurant.

We ordered mostly Korean food: mandu, bibimbap, japchae, pajeon, marinated pork ribs and grilled chicken. All of which were mediocre at best. Truth is, I've had better and cheaper Korean food in little authentic eateries around the growing Koreatown in Makati. Even the mandu which lured us in is not worth coming back to.

Ambience is very casual and simple, but the acoustics of the restaurant are terrible. It was so hard to hear what the person beside me was saying. I brought Marty with me and we were surrounded by two noisy groups of people. Lucky for me, he likes the noise and slept through it. However, I do not think it is very baby or child friendly. Especially since the restaurant right beside a casino.

All in all, Ginzadon was just okay. Would I recommend it? Nope. Would I come back? Nope.

We come here because of the freshness and quality of ingredients here. Here you will find salmon sashimi that are thick, firm and has the white fatty stripes that tells you it's best quality. Prawn tempura are huge with a light crispy batter. A must try is the Mandu, Korean dumpling which is the best value for money, 9 pcs for 200 only. They use the best beef although the last one I ordered, Korean BBQ black angus short ribs, seemed like it wasn't worth the price.
Downside is that, thinking that since it's in a 6star hotel, servers would be well trained with proper diction , p's and f's, good customer service and better uniforms. Last night, we had to ask for water thrice and a server forgot to get back to us regarding our chawan mushi order since she said she'll just check it. We had to remind her and the chawan mushi came as a dessert already.
It's a bit pricey but with a resorts world card you can get a 10% off.

It was the birthday of my miece so we decided to eat here . Surprisingly food was just so-so.. Maybe I was expecting more since it is in a hotel. The only food I liked was the sushi and japanese rice. Bulgogi, japchae, tempura, jspanese fried chicken, dumplings and korean pancake - 4 stars. They prepared a small choco mousse cake for my niece. I will give it 5 stars.

Good food with good friends 9786

Dinner started late and ended early last Tuesday but it's not the length of time but the quality of conversation, that really matters. Naks! #mayganun :))

We were in Ginzadon at 8pm. The place wasn't packed but we didn't order right away because we were still waiting on the others. Good thing they were okay with that. 128076
The server, "Mr. Expert", was very helpful with our orders. He let us get the "not spicy" crunchy tuna maki. Good stuff! 128513

I got Katsudon for myself. The serving was big, but the rice wasn't very good... and the sauce seemed a little too sweet. 128517

My friends got ramen, udon and bibimbap. The servings were good for two... or even more for the bibimbap. 128565

I loved the place though. We were able to talk and laugh and reminisce good times. HAHAHA!128523

Our friend mic was in town for a visit and he invited us to have dinner with him. We went to ginzadon, the korean-jap resto in maxims hotel. We tried looking for something else but we still ended up going there.

We ordered crunchy tuna maki for appetizer, it was really good. I really liked it! For my entree, i ordered tempura udon. The serving was really huge, Already good to share. It also tasted very good.

(PS to the looloo crew: you guys should add a ramen badge #justasuggestion )
