Gloria Maris offers really good dimsum but since I was there for dinner, we ordered different sets of food.

We had the Yang chow rice, broccoli wih garlic, combination roast (we chose one kind and the white hainan), hot and sour soup, and spareribs.

The Yang chow was good as usual... I loved the broccoli because it wasn't saucy and they sprinkled it with toasted garlic generously. 128077 The roasting combination were also good, properly cooked and seasoned well but between the two, I like the white hainan better (I still want the taste of authentic hainanese with the sauces, though 128533)... I'm not really fond of saucy food especially when it's chinese. The hot and sour soup was a tad heavy and slimy for me but really good as well.

Everything we had were what a good chinese food should be, it also had the after-effect of authentic chinese... You know, the feeling like you're gonna have a stroke or something... Too much vetsin I guess 128540

Gloria Maris has been around for ages and I don't think it'll ever leave. It's been the hangout of my kabarkadas (Henry Sy, etc...) ever since. 128513

And because good dimsum.

And oh, speaking of which, they have a dimsum buffet promo right now. From March 3-28, you can avail of their dimsum buffet for Php488 net for adults and Php388 net for kids, every 11am-2pm, Mondays-Fridays.

Eat Up guys! 128522128077

Its like a trip to your friendly neighborhood Chinese diner, only presented in pseudo-gourmet. Taste is good, ambiance is great, but price is something every Juan should stand guard. Familiar dishes may cost a bit extra, but who cares when food is prettier than your average dish? Try their shrimp balls, its good stuff :)

Not a good sight to see a big rat run under the table in front of us right before we get our food.

Gloria Maris is reputed to be among the finest and authentic Chinese restaurants in town. I have read some good reviews of their branch in Greenhills and was expecting this one in Araneta Center to uphold their name. Well, it didn't. Maybe we had ordered the least enticing on the menu, one of which was the Pata Tim which was just ok. The dimsum had the same quality as well, just ok. The food just didn't have this certain freshness I'm looking for.

The place is very cozy but the food is not that worth the price. I liked their roast duck though, a cheaper version of the one from Peking Garden.
