Thanks to SureSeats we got to experience a faster over-the-counter transaction and had avoided the long movie ticket queue. Of course, it’s not free. Haha. We paid an additional Php 25 for this. Their seats were much better than the movie houses of a major retailer who says they got it all for you. The overall experience was good.

Last Monday, February 27, I was invited to watch the premiere screening of the Digitally Restored and Remastered 1991 film "Hihintayin Kita Sa Langit" directed by Carlitos Siguion-Reyna. As an added plus, the film shown was also an UNCUT version never before seen by the viewing public for over 25 years! The Gala screening was attended by the cast and crew - the venue drowned in the cheer of the adoring fans, when the main stars Dawn Zulueta and Richard Gomez arrived. A few pleasantries were exchanged before screening began. The restored version literally leaped off the screen, the restoration process lead by the ABS CBN Restoration group was supervised by the director (Siguion-Reyna) and Cinematographer Romy Vitug. The blues of the sea and sky are vivid and the sprawling hills of Batanes was simply breathtaking. Excellent job as always from the team. Support and watch the Cinema Classics currently screening until March 5. Also at Trinoma Cinemas.

This rating goes purely for the movie. The cinema was okay though someone was a bit "kicky" at my back. 128517

I'm always up for those independent films and supporting the local film industry. Though this has gone a bit mainstream, that's actually good as it shows promise in terms of quality and storyline. It showcases how good modern filmmakers are. Now for the film. It's not going to fill you with those "kilig" juices or even have that #RelationshipGoals. Let's face it, some relationships aren't the dreamy types. That's what I loved about this movie. It was realistic. It's something that happens in real life that some (or most) people can relate to. It has that right "hugot" to make one reminisce or reflect on their own love dilemma. Cinematography and music choices was just 128076. And the actors flawlessly portrayed their roles. If given another chance, I'd watch this all over again. It was that good. 📽128077🎞

Full house last night for Saving Sally, and we were seated in front. Not too bad for PhP220.

Catch 'Cinema One Originals Film Festival 2016' now screening at Glorietta, Trinoma, Greenhills Theater, Gateway and Cinematheque Manila. 200pesos per film 160 for seniors and 150 for students.

For this review, I saw the film 'Si Magdalola at Ang Mga Gago'. This is hard to classify to one specific genre. It was difficult and nausea inducing. Watch it if you have the time. Screenings may differ because there are over 24 films, local competition, documentary and world cinema showing. Highly recommended.

I won a poster and Sikat Salted Egg Potato chips too just for asking a question during the Q&A after the film screening.

So today marks the end of the first ever German Film Week organized by Goethe Institut Philippinen with the cooperation of the Film Development Council of the Philippines. This cultural exchange of films is such a treat and at a budget friendly price of only 100pesos per film. The film 'Who Am I" is a must see.

Love the film fest. Not much on the venue, Cinema 5 of Glorietta does not have good seats. It forces you to cuddle up with the strangers beside and in front of you. The seats are way to close and low.

Me and my friend decided to go home a bir late because of traffic. For me stress=driving+traffic, not a good combination.

So we logged on sureseats to check which has the earliest screening for "Me Before You", and G4 cinemas had the earliest.

Considering this is one of the older cinemas in Makati, Ayala had maintained it well. Though you can see the seats are a bit old, but in fairness the cinema is clean minus the "cinema smell" for older movie houses. (If you know what I mean...)

Just a 128221 on fhe movie, I 128156 movie. 128513 For GoT fans, Emilia Clarke's character here is totally opposite of Daenerys Targaryen.

We watched X-Men: Apocalypse on a last full show last Friday. I purchased the tickets in advance via the G-Movies app. Separate seats with mom though kasi puno na when I purchased on the app. When we got there, almost magstart na. They had to print the tickets on another counter pa coz sira daw yung nasa Cinema 7 counter. Took just a few minutes. We missed the beginning of the movie since we had to buy dinner at the nearby Wendy's. I think we were about 10mins late from the official start time but I think they didn't start on time. The cinema was packed! The usher was nowhere to be found and we were the only ones looking for our seats. The usher appeared after a minute, I think, and hurriedly helped us naman. Mom sat at E19 while I sat at I23. It felt hot inside the cinema. Well, not really hot but not cold kasi, the way I expect it to be. The seats are too close together as in! I prefer Rockwell cinema parin. Or even SM Megamall. Mom's feedback - it was too cold at her seat (the aircon blowing at their area).

Movie date with a dear friend.  We rarely see each other due to proximity and schedule conflicts.  But when she is in Makati,  i grab the opportunity.

I am not the Rom-Com type of lady.  I prefer action,  suspense,  art films (Lars Von Trier x Gus Van Sant kind of stuff)  and some Scorsese and Nolan type of flicks,  we both dig the same genre.  We both missed Kevin Costner,  Criminal it is.

No screening schedule at GB 1 and 3, only in G4.  Bought tickets for the 12:50pm screening.  G4 needs a lil revamp,  truth be told.  The chairs are old and it smells a lil iffy inside.  The picture is still good,  same with the audio (not like Atmos or something).   The theatre's imperfections are tolerable because the movie is frigging awesome.

My ultimate old man crush is there....Commissioner Gordon,  Dracula...you can call him Gary.  The original US Marshall is there too with his signature Southern twang (not too prominent,  say 5%).  A lil Boardwalk Empire x Murder By Numbers,  some crazy anarchist super hacker from Spain,  2004 Miss Israel and Rachel Marron's bodyguard.  And oh,  Wade Wilson is there too,  a couple of frames.  If you are not a movie,  pop culture junkie like I am,  i strongly suggest using Google.  128512

This is the quintessential action,  semi violent,  heart warming movie.  Some scenes will make you cringe,  some will make you laugh and some will awaken your interest in Neuroscience.  I gots to read more Sam Harris and Michael Gazzaniga.  I better start now...

Peace Out!

Just watched Allegiant this afternoon. I haven't watched a movie here in a long while. Movie started on the dot, I was late a couple minutes because the Snack Bar outside was out of popcorn (oh my!). Had to queue again at Taters, thus missed a couple minutes of the movie. Purchased the ticket via GMovies app an hour before the movie schedule. You show the ticket to the lady at the cinema and they punch in the number and print your ticket. So it's not a simple scanning of the barcode, but no need to queue at the ticket counter.

Got a good seat (K26) at the back since there were still a lot available even if it's only an hour before the schedule. A bit annoyed that the guy seated in front of me has a big head (or tall lang talaga?!) so a small part of the screen was blocked the whole time. Anyway, I like that they have food trays for convenience and the restroom is near the seats so you can still hear the movie in case you need to go.

MOVIE BUFF BADGE! 12788110024

The office went for a movie night here last Tuesday. I believe this was my first time to watch a movie here, and first time in forever to watch a Filipino movie at the cinema. 128513

The cinema is okay, it was cold enough inside but hey, the leg room wasn't that spacious. I had to go to the comfort room in the middle of the movie and I couldn't help but bump other people's legs! 128584

Heneral Luna is a great movie! 128077🏼 It's full of entertainment and learnings about the Philippine history.

My second time to watch here! Funny how both movies I watched were Filipino movies 128514

First watched That Thing Called Tadhana earlier this year, and the experience was okay. The seats were comfy, the a/c was just right.

So when I found a screening for Heneral Luna that fits our schedule, I did not hesitate to book seats online. Big mistake. 128514 My seat was uncomfy, the cushion was flat in the middle. Plus the area smelled like feet. 128557

I do highly encourage you to watch Heneral Luna though! It's a really great film that would change the way you think about the Filipino film industry!
