It was my first time to try Golden Bay Seafood, I didn't even know it existed. Turns out that it is one of the famous Chinese seafood places out there 128561
My college friend got hitched 2 weeks ago and boy, the reception was humongous. 80+ tables served with (1) suckling pig with jelly fish (2) sharksfin soup (3) sea cucumber (4) abalone (5) lobster (6) crab (7) Blue Label. And some other dishes that I wasn't able to stay for.
Food was really great and fresh! I love the lobster the most 128523

I've always wanted to try this out but hearing about how expensive it could be, I would shy away.

With the wifey in tow I garnered all my courage and decided to come here once and for all. 128514 Indeed it was expensive. The food was good but it was standard Chinese fare. Good, but nothing spectacular.

Their dimsum are at 50% off all day. Their prices however are similar to that of hotel restaurant prices. Around P200-P350 per order that even if you slash half the price it would still come out quite expensive. But obviously they didn't skimp on the ingredients. One bite and you'll know it is premium. Even the wrapper is. 9786

Service on the other hand is top notch! They are quick to act and are readily available and well informed of their menu items. Very courteous lot. 128588

Total damage dinner for two: P4,000 rounded down. 128514

I've been to this place a few times and it was only during my recent visit that I got to step up to its 2nd flr. That's the only time I found out what a nice hall they have for an event like the wedding reception I attended. I especially noticed its high ceiling which makes the place look more spacious!

Food was great! :)

We dined here a couple of weeks ago and I appreciated that they still maintain the standards of the food.

The scallops, perfectly succulent.
The celery, crunchy.
The fish, tender but well cooked.
And so on.

I didn't snap a photo since I was with the elderly people, hahaha kiddin'.

With my parents and uncles**

What could ruin a perfect dinner reception?

This. In photo.

And when a waiter accidentally spills the sabaw, steaming hot, from the crabs to your lap, leaving your dress all wet, and your foot sticky.

I had to leave right then and there because I was too embarrassed to cry in front of everyone.

Food was amazing, and this is coming from an authentic Intsik, okay?

This, though, too much.

Ok, 3 stars because let's say I was just really unlucky.

Good dimsum. Not exactly the cheapest, but if you go during lunch time, they're on 50% off! Xiao long bao is really good too!

P.S. The place is handled by G.I.'s. (If you're not familiar with the term, it means "Genuine Intsek". Haha!) so the food is pretty legit. 128077

It was my second time here.
The bf and I had a late celebration of our 3rd year anniv. (Yup! Thanks maring and habagat. Haha128523)

Anyway, we ordered some of our favorite chinese foods like prawn salad, lechon kawali with mustard sauce on the side, spicy clam soup and man tou; the bf added *something scallops haha 128513

Prawn salad was really good, medyo nalunod lang yun prawn sa sauce haha but still really good. Lechon kawali is also really good but the portion's quite small. Spicy clam soup, this was really good but please don't tell us it's a soup unless it has.. Well.. Soup..! Although it's really good and spicy 128525. Mantou, my fave is always served 6pcs. Either medium or big in size, but this one was quite small- think half a fist (my fist..fyi.. I'm petite) and not really good unlike all the other mantou's I've tried. Never knew man tou could be so bland.. 128532 Scallops were .. Meh 128513

But overall it's good :)

My family & I ate here for our grandma's birthday just last Saturday.

Overall set menu food that we ordered was so-so. Hope they improve and come up with more dishes. Seems like the menu is catered more to Chinese from China & Hong Kong - not Fil-Chi.

When I came to this resto, I was still full from a heavy merienda so just maybe this has affected my so-so experience with Golden Bay.

They offer all day 50% off on all dimsum and congee. Quality of their hakaw and siomai is really good. All dimsum are cooked upon order so u expect to wait for about 15mins. But its worth the wait. Asado pao is also great!!!
Plus the price is really reasonable. For me, this place has the best hakaw

This place is huge! High ceiling, lots of tables and a grand stairway that leads to the 2nd floor was what greeted me upon stepping foot on the place. Lots of Chinese foreigners eat here too so the food must be pretty good.

I was not disappointed. Their free appetizer (mixed fresh seaweeds) was really good, kinda different as most Chinese restaurants serve peanuts.

Their dishes are quite interesting. It was my first time to have scallops on a bed of egg whites and it was delicious. It was also my first time to be served just the meat from the claws of crab then fried but I did not enjoy this as much because I prefer my crabs to be steamed. Other dishes such as the Grouper with sou sauce, noodles topped with fresh prawns & fish, abalone with large shitake mushrooms were all tasty.

THE highlight of my evening was the steamed tiger? Or king? prawn with garlic.127844 I'm not sure of the kind but the prawns were HUGE!! They were even bigger than Tao Yuan's prawns. Despite their size, the prawns were tender and tasty. You can tell they are fresh.

Desserts were also good, aside from the typical buchi and mango sago, we were served mangoes&cream-filled mochis.127841

The function room we dined at had a sofa and a tv (for karaoke, maybe?). It was quite spacious. Their set menus are pretty pricey though. I believe the cheapest costs around 12k while the highest is around 39k (may ginto10024?). The one we had was in the middle range btw.
