This restaurant is newly renovated. The place is homey and you get to feel like you having a family gathering in a traditional family set-up.
The food is really good! Crispy pata is the best! A must visit place when you arecin Cebu.

FOODLESS PLATE because I'm on DIE-t. Ofcourse it's a joke! Wala sa vocabulary ko ang word na diet HAHAHAHA!

Anyway. It's holyweek and most of the restaurants here are closed.

Dinner:
Adobong Talong - Flavorful, i loved it!
Inihaw na Bangus - 128076
Tinolang manok - Good but a bit salty for me.
Pinakbet - 128076
Crispy pata - (Skin) Bot crispy, we asked them to make it crispier pero pagbalik ganun padin 128533 But it's good tho!

Too bad, out of stock crispy dinuguan and bicol express 128532

My colleague introduced me this place when I had a business trip in Cebu-Bohol-Dumaguete, he invited us for a dinner before we go back to Manila.

At 7:00 pm, the place is fully booked.

✅ Food - all of the dishes that we ordered were perfect. My personal favorite is the clam soup (yellow shell), clam is fresh.

✅ Service - they were all fast, all smiling and focus on what they were doing. Though that night our table is side by side with the table of Cong. Neptali Gonzales, the service they were getting is the same with us. Everyone in the restaurant received a VIP treatment.

✅ Ambiance - The furnitures were mostly made of woods, I liked it.

✅ Value for Money

If you'll planning to visit Cebu, this is one of the best filipino restaurant that you shouldn't miss!

PS.. Near to zero backlog128540!

Golden Cowrie is one of Cebu's best restaurants serving Filipino dishes. Their version of sinigang, dinuguan, Bicol Express, adobong pusit, chicken pandan and baked scallops are must-try! 128077

Oops! Sorry about the picture being that of me and my friends. I kinda couldnt take ones of the food, so forgive me. Also, i'm not a hundred percent sure that I keyed in the right location since there are a lot of Golden Cowrie branches in cebu and im not from there. Lol yes this was during the sinulog weekend.

Anyway, we only really went to Golden Cowrie because my friend's family owns the resto. He's there in the picture haha guess which one!

On to the food, baked scallops ftw!!!!! They had the best scallops ever! Perfectly creamy and kinda just melted in my mouth like wtf :))) also, their chicken halang-halang, wow. Their sinigang? Exactly the right amount of sourness! And their green mango fruit shake! 128076 it also did not help with my diet at all that it was unli rice! Dang. We also got krispy pata + ribs and i legit had to contain myself to not look too "matakaw" in front of my friends. 128514

Definitely a must try if you're in cebu!!

PS sorry i cant really gage on the prices since we dint pay for dinner!
PPS nor can i comment on the service because while it was excellent, they could've just been trying to impress the owner's son. Lol

Heard this was a restaurant to try when in Cebu, so i tried the one in Salinas Drive. I think this is also the first store if im not mistaken.

Food is great, crispy pata is really crunchy, grilled squid is cooked nicely, tahong soup, kangkong and others were really good, but i did expect more than what i tasted.

There's nothing really unique about the food they serve, maybe its because of many Filipino foods already in MNL that is similar to this.

But if you're in CEB and in need of Filipino food fix, this is a great place.

A restaurant Boasting a realistic Cebuano Flavor, Hospitality, and value since 1982, isn't something that passes you by.

I've had a great experience dining here, with no reservations, just a walk-customer from Manila and my tastebuds were in culinary heaven!

Did I mention the unlimited rice?

Eating on plates made out of banana leaves with utensils, clay pot serving bowls and sizzling platters is an exquisite experience outside of Manila's usual spots.

Head over to Golden Cowrie when you head out to Cebu!
