It's been a while since my last visit here. I don't get to go to Chinatown as much as I used to. 128533

Took Cherrie on an "adventure" to Quiapo. We took the bus...which she totally disagreed on, bought bicycle parts and she shopped around in Divisoria.

After all the walking, Cherrie was "hangry"...I promised to buy her lunch here. 128515

As usual, the service was very good. The food, even better!

We had the polonchay soup, sweet and sour pork and yang chow fried rice. Not as complicated as our previous visits here, but very good just the same.

I don't think I'll ever tire of this place. Will be back for sure! 128515

It's been months since I last ate here. All I can say is that their Shabu Shabu is definitely awesome! We come here after 9pm because the ingredients are discounted around 30-50% and it's worth it! Their discounts start at 9pm to 1am and during the afternoon it starts at 2pm to 5pm, it includes dimsums as well.

I eat here once a month or two so this review might be a little biased. Hehe!

Me and the family always frequent this place (or Causeway Binondo) because aside from being near our house, they also do a dimsum promo every 9PM. Promo time is on the photos so do check them out during those times. However, I forgot to take pictures of the dimsum that I ordered. Maybe I'll do a separate review next time for dimsum alone.

Service here is always, always very good. Tea is served as soon as we sat down. Waiters are attentive as always. Never had a bad time here. If you will pay cash here, they will remove the service charge on your bill so please do leave a generous tip.

Below are the dishes that we ordered last time I was here (late review, kinda got busy :p)

Lemon Chicken - Super default dish. I am a sucker for lemon chicken so this is like a personal favorite. Dish is the right blend of sweet and tangy. Chicken is still crispy even when smothered in lemon sauce. I always dip it in soy sauce/chili/calamansi mix and heaven will be right at your mouth.

Golden Fortune Rice - Aside from their Yang Chow Rice, this is also one of their specialty fried rice dish. One cup will never be enough for you. This rice will always complement whatever dish you ordered so you go order this one.

Almond Jelly - This is for free. You can ask for this once you finished your meal. Actually, we did not have to ask for this, they just served this on our table after we asked for the bill. Maybe they remember us as frequent customers. This is the best dessert to cap your meals. Cold and sweet, you better reserve a space on your tummy for this.

Third stop of our Binondo food tour was at Golden Fortune Seafood Restaurant. I was actually just searching for Chee Cheong Fun but some Chinese establishments don't have it. After 2 failed attempts, our "tour guide Batang Chinatown" Teemee 128518, suggested Golden Fortune. As soon as we got there, we checked the dimsum menu, and they have Chee Cheong Fun!

Chee cheong fun is a variety of dimsum made from a wide strip of rice noodle. It is made into a thin roll that may be filled with shrimp, beef, or pork. We ordered shrimp and it was good. Best one I've had here in the Philippines. The rice noodle was thick and sticky but really soft. Shrimps were fresh. And the special sauce deliciously complemented the roll. Seriously, this thing is much better than what the more popular Chinese restaurants around have.

Here are some pro tips that may come in handy if you plan to visit Golden Fortune. These are courtesy of our "Batang Chinatown." 128516

1. They have discounted rates on dimsum during non-peak times of the day. I forgot to ask which times but it's twice a day for their Binondo branch.

2. If you pay in cash, you can ask them to remove the service charge on your bill.

3. They serve free almond jelly for dessert. I forgot if there's a condition before you can claim this but if you're dining in, just go ask! 128513

This was our 2nd stop for our Binondo Foodtrip led by Lark C and Ruth D.

I noticed that the waiters today were a bit more attentive compared to my previous visits here.

Ordered the taro siomai for Chachi L to try.

Thank you Lark C for sharing a part of your shrimp vermicelli rice roll. The wrapping was smooth, a bit shiny and felt like I was eating jelly but a sturdier jelly wrap. The wrapper didn't have much taste except if you dip it into the sweet toyo sauce and the shrimp tasted fresh.

This is my dad's favorite Chinese restaurant and him being originally from china makes this a big deal haha Its really hard to impress my dad when it comes to Chinese restaurant and out of the many restos we tried, this remains his number one.
We were practically here everyday back when we were still in Binondo. So ever since we moved to qc, the visits became less frequent.

For chinese new year though, my dad found an excuse to have his favorites. We went to binondo and ordered our usual for takeout: shrimp balls, fried spareribs, asado, dimsum, steamed lapulapu, sweet and sour, yangchaw fried rice etc etc

We were stuck in traffic since it was chinese new year so it took as awhile to get gome but surprisingly, everything tasted the same as if we ate at the restaurant.

I really love their fried spareribs because unlike other restaurants, golden fortune's spareribs actually have meat in them. Another favorite was the sweet and sour shrimp. I love the thick sauce and the combination and balance of the sweetness and sourness. Everything we ordered was good :)
I actually miss it right now.

The prices weren't that bad either. Its very affordable and the servings were quite huge. and if you dine in, you can ask for a cash discount if you're paying cash and they will slash off the 10% for you :)

PS: take advantage of the 50% discount for all dimsum everynight 9-12mn

Sometimes I like to make this a 'tambay' place after work. Beer here is 3+1 ftw!

Food is served hot and fresh also the price is very reasonable.

I like to order their steamed suahe because they catch it on the spot in an aquarium inside the reataurant.

Fourth best place to have coffee in Binondo. As long as you don't get the burnt refill (bottomless coffee)

We travelled and conquered! I searched for the best seafood restaurant online and it said that this was number 1 among all!

We ordered Hakaw, Siomai, Sharksfin - Wow! It was sooo good! Even better than Presidents siomai and we've been a fan since forever of Presidents (still my fave though) 128522

For our main course we ordered the Crispy chicken and Chili crabs of course paired with Yang chow!

The whole meal was only P1000 but the crab was super expensive at P1400 but so worth it! 128513 Very happy tummy!
